Menu Structure: Opens A Menu Next To It With Different Options
Jul 15, 2006Now this is something which I dont even know if it can be done, but its something which I would use, a lot. When clicking on a button, like a normal button from the control toolbox, is it possible to open a menu from this? So I click on the button i made called "accounts" and this opens a menu next to it with different options.

Sep 12, 2012I am trying to create a drop down menu in Excel to display certain values but it's not working. I want to input certain data in the cells. eg, 019, Quebec, Agent, Direct etc. I want to create a drop down list where if 019 is selected, all 019 entries would show up hiding all others. When nothing is selected all values would show up. I created a list but if I have 10 "Agent" entries in the cells, the drop down list also shows 10 "Agent entries rather than letting me select "Agent" and then displaying all agent entries below. I don't know if it makes sense but I basically want to make it easier for people to look for certain entries that they need rather than going through the entire spreadsheet to find all 019's.

I have all of my data on sheet2 and my objective is to have a small portion of the data displayed on sheet1 once the user selects the specific "study" from a drop down menu.
how to create a drop down menu that will have a list of all the different studies, and then once the specific study is selected, how do I make it display the pertaining information in the master sheet.

The data I’m working with is a master list of different drug studies. All of the data is broken down by the specific study itself, so all I need to do is figure out a way to let the user access the data in a quick and easy way. I figured this could be down with a drop down menu that has a list of each study, and the user could select the study they want to review. Once selected, the data pertaining to the study would then populate the fields on the master silde(sheet1).

Sep 29, 2013I have a table with 150 or so Job Titles down the first column. Across the top row, I have 25 or so courses listed. There are Xs in the table indicating which courses are required for each job title.
This worksheet is intended to be used by individuals who will look up their job title to see which courses they must take. My goal is to simplify this process. I would like to create a worksheet in this workbook which has a drop down list of job titles. When the title is selected the data will transfer to a table on this new worksheet.
I've attached the spreadsheet I have and it's pretty self explanatory.

Apr 18, 2009I have a workbook (VBE.xls) that creates menu options in the VBE when it opens.
Several of them modify the code in the active codepane.
When the codepane is in VBE.xls, everything gets reset and my macros don't run anymore. I have to re-run the macro (menu_setup()) that creates the menu options.
I don't think there is anything I can do about it resetting when I modify the project that created the menus.
Is there some way to have each macro re-run menu_setup() AFTER it has ended (after the reset has cleared everything)?
I've tried having each macro open the immediate window and paste in "menu_setup" then tried to use "sendkeys" command to execute it, but I can't seem to get it work.

Aug 19, 2013Using Excel 2010, I set up a simple workbook with a spreadsheet on one page and the ranges for data validation on another. I successfully linked the fields in the "Category" and "Tender" columns with the data on the second sheet, making nice drop down menus. Everything works fine on my computer. However, when we open the workbook on a different station, the drop down menus disappear. If you highlight any of the "Category" or "Tender" fields, the little drop down prompt is missing; they behave like regular, un-formatted fields. It appears that the data validation became un-linked.
We tried opening versions with certain fields locked (Mainly the Total, Breakdown, and Summary areas, but the fields with data validation were still editable), and also completely unlocked documents. Every time, the drop down lists were lost when opened on different stations.

Forget to check a box or something? This seems way harder for me to figure out that it should be!

However, i would like to have in the box fields such as "--Subjects", "English", "Maths", "Science". In this way, the user will be shown a list of options of the different subjects for them to choose from as well as to clearly identify to them that these are the subjects available therefore the heading "--Subjects". I would also have to make sure that the user can only select "English", "Maths", "Science" and NOT "--Subjects".

I'm relatively familiar now with pulling tables using webquery, etc. but my next feat is accessing data from sites which require some "input" before retrieving the desired data set.
Currently, I have a site which contains information and prompts for the "year" of information in a dropdown box. I've attempted to do this as indicated below, and was able to "select" a year, however the page doesn't load the data like it would if I were to manually click on it.

Example,
I have can choose Apple, Orange, Durian and Mango.
The drop down can only select these 4 fruits.
So there are 4 cells in Column A1, A2, A3, A4.
A1 selects Mango and then A2 will only have 3 options to choose. So until the last cell, he can only choose the last fruit left.
A1, A2, A3, A4 are not selecting in descending order thus it could be A3 selecting first, then A2 and then A4.

Jul 7, 2014I've got a workbook with multiple worksheets related to several subsidiary companies for each state & territory, resulting in 450+ worksheets in the workbook. I created a summary sheet with a dropdown menu for each state/territory that pulls in the relevant data using "=indirect". For example, selecting CA from the dropdown menu populates the combined revenue, expenses, etc., for all subsidiaries in CA. However, I've got 50 states plus some territories. I'd like the revenue, expenses, etc. for every dropdown option. Ideally, a separate sheet (or whatever) that lists all 50 states and the revenue, expenses, etc., for each one below (or across).
Is there any way to do this automatically so I don't have to select every single option and copy and paste the numbers into a different worksheet?
