Basically % of yes and no for two separate datasets, but which share the same characteristics. The x-axis is months of the year.
CSP Yes
CSPNo
All Yes
All No
Apr-13
6

I can create 2 separate charts. One for the yes/no of one set as a 100% stacked column. I then use 'no fill' on the No column to stop this from being seen.
I can create a 100% line chart for the second data type, and 'no fill' the 100% line that appears.
However, I can't merge the two charts to show the Yes % for one dataset as bars and the Yes % of the other as a line.
I am using Excel 2010 on XP.
Is it possible to put in Trend Lines when creating a stacked column chart?
I've tried in Excel 2003 and 2010 but it doesn't appear that it is possible.
I have a simple x y scatter graph, to which i have a trend line running through it, fine.
what i need to do is fine some values according to that trend line. e.g. my X axis goes up to 60 and my Y axis goes to 10, so if i draw accross at 55 from the trend line, i then go down to a number on my Y axis.
1. I use a number of x,y pairs
2. From x,y pairs I produce "scatter" type chart
3. From the chart I get trend line and its equation e.g. 5-order polinominal
4. I convert equation into excel formula
5. I apply formula onto the same range of x argument and produce graph
6. The graph is very much different from the trend line!!! I would expect exact match as I use equation/formula for the trend line.
On top of these graphs, i draw a line (insert a line shape) corresponding to a certain gradient in the data presented. I do not want this line to be exact (i.e. not point to point) as it is best to be drawn by eye so that the general 'gist' of the data can be found. What i would like, using any method available, is to be able to find the gradient of this line i have just drawn which obviosuly must be done taking into account the scale of the graph. The scales of the graph will not be consistent across all applications.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI currently have in my equation the trend function to linear extrapolate the date a line would cross either my upper or lower limits (100.1 and 19.9) between 2 data points. However if the 2 data points span both the upper and lower limits (as per the 2 attached examples) then unfortunately the trend function is only able to return the 1 date (where I've specified the x value). Is there any way for the TREND function to trend the 2 values? Do I simply add the 2nd x value to the new x's?

how to create a stacked bar & line graph together.
I know by default, I can choose to have a stacked bar, OR a line graph, OR a basic bar & line graph.
But I need to take a step further and have a stacked bar WITH a line graph.
options in which I could combine the above graphs?
We are trying to create a stacked bar graph with an average line. Each time we try to add in the average data to the graph it adds it to the stacked bar. The stacked bar should represent the inpatient & outpatient cases at a hospital for the current year (months showing across the as columns). The line should represent the previous 2-yr average total. Anyone have an idea how to add a line to the stacked bar graph? It has us stumped.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to make a graph in Excel, where I present both a stacked column and a line with two different axes. Including a clustered column and a line in the same graph with two different axes is easy, as this combination can be found in the custom types selection in the chart wizard. However, there is no such alternative as a stacked column and a line with two different axes. Is combining the two manually possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to overlay a line chart on top of a stacked column chart. The stacked column chart is a chart where the x axis is dates and the y axis is amount. The line chart is a projected amount that I will reach in few years; the x axis is the date while the y axis is an amount. I can get a chart that has a line and stacked columns, but ever time, the dates get messed up. The line has an extremely wide date range while the columns only have about a month of data.

I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but I've exhausted all possibilities. I have a table (see attachment) that has due dates, and person assigned to it. What I am looking for is a way to plot out dots on a scatter diagram, a different color for each assigned person, versus the dates in order to tell when a certain date is busier than another. I can't seem to get Excel to want to do this, as I am unsure what to put on each axis.

How to create a dispersion diagram which will show me the impact of 3 variables on oil-in-place, which for the sake of this description, I shall call 'X'.
The 3 variables (let's call them A, B and C as I needn't go into the details) are used in the calculation for X. I have created tornado diagrams, which show me the positive and negative impact of each variable. But I'd like to create a diagram with X along the x-axis, with X increasing, and on the y-axis, have -1 to +1 which represents the impact of the variables A, B and C on X. So, as X increases, variable A might also increase toward +1, which would show me that as variable A increases, so does X. The reason why I'd like to learn how to do this is, whilst a tornado diagram will show me the impact of each variable on X, a dispersion diagram will also show be trends between variables. So, for example, variables B and C might both increase along the same trend, which would show me two things: that they both positively impact X and that one variable is dependent on the other.
I remember from a few years ago that an old version of Excel had a data sensitivity tool which did something like this. I'm working off of Excel 2010 now, and I've had a little look at the 'whatif' functions, but that doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for. Also, I would kind of like to see how to do this myself with the raw data, instead of the behind-the-scenes stuff.
we all have a team, and we are scored on calls, appointments, demos, proposals, and revenue. Rather than asking us to do one or all of these metrics, I would like to have a bulls eye chart that could show people their bonus eligability, so if for example 50% of the circles are touching the bulls eye circle, you would be able to adjust what you need to work on for bonus.

If I TREND between just the two rows, the value is fine (i.e. If I TREND between 105 and 110 RAW, I get the right PERCENTILE RANK if the new X value is 106 (which is 15.3% PERCENTILE RANK).
