Update Range Values In Workbook With Values From A Different Workbook

I have two workbooks: master and student. I have one spreadsheet in each workbook. Both workbooks contains data in the same range.
master.xls data = B1:B10 (values are integers)
student.xls data = B1:B10 (values are integers)
I want to know how to update(add) the values in master.xls with the values in a closed workbook(student.xls). Basically if master("B3") = 5 and student("B3") = 1, it will update the value in master("B3") = 6.

I am having a workbook (say a.xlsm) which has value entry fields and some values are given to another workbook (say b.xlsm) which has some sort of calculations and the result is projected back to the book a. most of the time book b will be closed. I am using Excel 2010.
I opened and saw that the result which is calculated and projected from workbook b is not getting updated. I opened the workbook b and saw that the values I have entered in a has not been updated in b. note that I am opening one book at a time and I do click on update links when I am asked.

I need to copy a range of values (actually two ranges). The ranges are of fixed size. Le't say A2:D20 and E2:H20.
Both workbooks have the exact same layout, and they both have the same named worksheet (in this case it's called Entry). However the actual filename of the source workbook is unknown. I know numerous users have changed the filename of the xls file.
I want to instruct them to open the old and new workbook, and open a third workbook containing the copy macro, they run the macro and it copies the data.
How can I reference a known worksheet name but of an unknown workbook name esp when the source and destination share the worksheet name?

I have a workbook that has a lot of formulas in it that reference material stored on my local computer.
I need a macro that will copy all 42 tabs in to a new workbook book without all formulas, but saving all the formats have made. This would save me from every other day coping and pasting manually each of the pages.

I am using the below code (i have combined different bits of code which i found on these forums) to open a new workbook, copy all the data in it and paste it into Sheet2 in the active workbook . Also, i want the data to be pasted on the next empty row as there is already data in Sheet2. The data that is being copied and pasted has the same format and it is going to be repeated many times.
The problem i am having is that it is not offsetting the data to the next empty row - i think it is a simple change but i can't seem to get there :s
Also, the code is currently selecting all of the data from the workbook that i open - is there a way i can select all of the data, excluding the first row (the first row contains the headings which i already have in Sheet2 in the active workbook).

I have 400 source files containing (among others) 8 sheets with daily results: "Fri 23", "Mon 26", "Tue 27", "Wed 28", "Thu 29", "Fri 30", "Sat 31 (if applicable)", "Mon 2".
Each sheet contains also:
State - D1
Role - D2
Staff ID - D3
Date - D4
Activity group name in column A (starting from row 8)
Activity type in column B (merged with C and D) (starting from row 8)
Activity time in columns E:GV (starting from row 8). Usually, there is none or only one value in whole range (e.g. E8:GV8). But sometimes there are two values.
Customer ID in row 6 (value appears only if time was reported in E:GV range)
CC Number in row 7 (value appears only if time was reported in E:GV range)
It's all about transferring values from all daily sheets in all files (.xls) sitting in folder C:WADFinal to one simple table (WAD_Consolidation_file.xls, sheet "Consolidated") consisted of 9 columns: Staff ID, Role, State, Date, Activity Group, Activity Type, Minutes, Customer ID, CC Number.
Additional note if two values exist in the same row they should be copied as two separate entries to consolidation file.

I have a workbook that is used to calculate values from various data etc. On completion of calculating the values, eg. £20,000, I want to put the values into specific cells of another workbook template. I can of course do it manually by selecting the cell of the template workbook and do an = then reference the the cell in the calculating workbook.
What I want to happen when all the calculations are complete is that:
1. A new workbook, based on the template, is opened and saved with an appropriate title
2 The values from the calculating workbook are automatically entered into the new (saved) workbook at specific cells

I am successfully opening a .csv file using a variable value stored in a named range in my Main file (the variable includes the directory and path).
I copy data from the .csv file to the Main file then I need to close the .csv file without saving but I want to do that by using the
Windows("xxxx").Activate
command where "xxxx" is the namedrange in my Main file which stores the .csv filename (without the directory and path prefix).
I can use the
ActiveWindow.ActivatePrevious
command but if I have another workbook open, this one closes instead of the .csv file I opened from the macro.
I realise this is probably very basic and I've searched the forums but can't find any identical postings.

I am working with multiple workbooks with several tabs in each one. I need the forumula to update the "sheet name" from the source workbook even if the destination workbook is closed.

In order to do the tests, I'm using 2 simplified workbooks (test_copy and test_paste).
What I'd like to be able to do, once I click a button UPLOAD (creating the button isn't the problem), is to go to the first cell from workbook test_copy, check if that code is already on test_paste and if not add it to the bottom of the list, repeating the same cycle for each code on the workbook test_copy.
The orders of the codes might change on both workbooks differently depending on the way the columns are sorted. That is why I believe that for each code in test_copy I need to check the entire column in test_paste to check if the code already exists.
At the end of the routine, on the example below, we would have the codes 2670, 2676 and 2626 added to the end of the list on test_paste.

I have 1150 workbooks with two sheets each. The workbooks are all named with employee names (SNUFFY,JOE.xlsx etc). The sheets in each workbook are for different years. Both sheets in each workbook are set up the same. The only differences are the values in cells. I just made another workbook where column A is a list of all 1150 employee names (SNUFFY,JOE etc). I want column B for each employee to show the values in say sheet 1 cell G1 of that employee's individual workbook, and column C to show the value in sheet 2 cell G1. How do I make that happen?

eg. in my master sheet i have 10 columns basic salary,fixed allowances,variable allownces etc.

I have 5 workbooks, loaded with macros and VBA, each of which has 12 tabs representing months of the fiscal year. Values for the previous day's financials are updated daily.
The files are then posted to the server, so that certain bigshots can view the results and subsequently complain to us about our miserable lack of committment.
Is there a way to save or export these files without the macros and code, (i.e. as 'Values Only')? Apparently, some of them get frightened by the message box that appears warning them about the potential dangers of roque macros and code, and would prefer me to deal with the problem, rather than adjusting their security settings or allowing me to install a Trust Cert.

I've got e.g. two rows of numbers -
663 666
664 665
665 663
666 664
667 667
and want to update col2 values to col1 values. Col 1 is always sorted low to high. For some reason I can't figure this out, whichever end I start from will change numebrs prematurely and muck everything up.
But it's got to be simple, hasn't it ? ! It's in a macro, not a worksheet and there may be more or less then the 5 in the example above.

Normally when a code copies a cell value from Workbook-A, closes Workbook-A and then pastes the value into Workbook-B it works flawlessly. However, i noticed that this doesn't work in all case, for example when a code repeats itself with the "For - Next" function then when the code copies from one workbook to the other it causes an error.

1. I have got a master sheet (Headers: First Name, Last Name, DOB, Age, Actioned Date, Query).
2. There are around 20 workbooks with the same headers.
3. All Individual workbooks are updated everyday.
4. Next day morning I need to copy paste all the values from each workbook to master sheet.
5. Thought of linking the workbooks. However, that replaces all.

I am trying to create a "macro" that will read values from one workbook into an array based on a key field. If the key isn't present the cells data is not to be stored. After the records are stored i want to test them agains a range in a differnt workbook. If the data compared matches a stored value, leave it alone. If there is no match, a cell needs to be added with a value stating a differnce.
Like i stated i am new at this and have no clue how to compare an data array to a field. Let alone read the values into the array.

Here's what I need to do. I need to search 3 huge columns from multiple workbooks and copy all values > 0 onto 1 Worksheet in a completely new workbook.
I've done a search and this was the closest I've found to what I need: Find, copy, paste to diffrent sheet
But I couldn't get it to work.
Here's where I am:

I've managed to figure out part a certain code (or part of it) for copying an existing worksheet to a new workbook but ran into some trouble. Thus far I've adjusted it several ways, and as of now I am trying to have it open into a new workbook, but also copy and paste the data from the original workbook to the new workbook as paste special, values only, as the 1st workbook is linked to bloomberg and therefore contains live data. Below is the code I have so far. how to modify this so as to achieve what I'm trying to do. I've attached the current code I am using.
