Userform - Default Textbox Values Based On Textbox1's Value
Mar 5, 2010
I have a userform with 10 textboxes which will all contain a time in HH:MM format. Could I have the userform to fill the textboxes with a default value once a time has been entered into textbox1. I would like the default value to be the time from the previous textbox plus 30 mins.
eg. So if I enter 14:00 into textbox1 I would like textbox2 to display 14:30, textbox3 to display 15:00.
If this is possible, could I add a Listbox with the options 1 to 10. Then would I be able to only uses the textboxes based on the number selected in the listbox. So if I selected 2 then just Textbox1 and Textbox2 would have values in them. For 8 being selected then Textboxes 1 through to 8 would be filled.
I have a userform containing 3 textboxes, to calculate derivatives.
User enters two integers in textbox1 and textbox2; and to textbox 3, I need to transfer these values but with a little issue.
For example, user entered 3 to textbox1 and 5 to textbox2. In textbox 3, it needs to show 3x^5. For example, user entered 7 to textbox1 and 2 to textbox2. In textbox 3, it needs to show 7x^2.
So "x" and "^" are our defaults in textbox3.I tried to transfer the numbers that the user enters to cells A1 and A2, -I don't know if this works- but I don't know how to call them to change the text in the textbox.
I have textbox1 through textbox8 and all have a number value controlled by their respective spinbutton. The total of those txtbox's adds up into textbox 9, but I currently have a command button to sum the value. would I would like is textbox 9 to update as I'm updating txtbox 1-8 automatically. let me know if possible
In my userform I have a lot of textboxes. When the user clicks "OK" the values of these textboxes are transfered to row 3 of sheet1.
For this I use some of the code below:
Code: If NaamTextBox.Value = "" Then ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = " " Else: ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = NaamTextBox.Value ActiveCell.Offset(0, 2).Range("A1").Select If GroepComboBox.Value = "" Then ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "" Else: ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = GroepComboBox.Value ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Range("A1").Select If TypeTextBox.Value = "" Then ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = " " Else: ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = TypeTextBox.Value ActiveCell.Offset(0, 3).Range("A1").Select If TypecodeTextBox.Value = "" Then ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = " " Else: ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = TypecodeTextBox.Value
This goes on for about 55 columns. Also, not every column is used as you can see in de code above.
It seems to me that this is not smart coding, so my question is: can you make this more efficient?
I did find some nice code with uses EmptyRow (find first empty row) but in my case it's always row 3 where de input is placed. After this row follows much more data.
OK,I have a spreadsheet that prints receiving labels based on received purchase orders that pulls information from an SQL server. The problem is that it is pulling almost 40,000 lines of data to sort and pull at most 30 lines. One of steps is that the purchase order receipt register has a barcode that is scanned into a text box on a userform. Can I use this information to filter the SQL data pull to only grab that PO number? I'm at a loss on where to begin with this. Below is my SQL statement from the Query builder with an example of a PO number input(PO-rma100613).
I am developing a form to get the user's name. I want to put some default text in the textbox where the user types their name. I want the form to delete the default text when the user clicks on the text box or after they start typing their name.
Attached is the form and code that runs the form : UserName.xlsm‎
i am trying to achieve this in the form that currently has Record navigation buttons...
I have Form with 3 TextBoxes. The first 2 textboxes are edited by the user, but the 3rd textbox depends (It can be edited or might not be)...
I have added the default value under change event of textbox3 as textbox3.value="Pipes"
Currently the user cannot overwrite this value (Pipes)... I need to somehow overwrite this value if required, else, the same value should be retained after clicking New button...
I have a userform with numerous Textboxes and comboboxes for user input - however the end users aren't too PC savvy and I'm ending up capturing "Please Enter NameJohn Smith", "Please Enter Job TitleSales Manager" etc. My original Instructions told them to tab their way through the form, meaning each time they reached a TextBox their input would overwrite the ("Please Enter x") string prompting them for input.
Is there any way to replicate this "select all" on click (globally as there are potentially 50 to 100 textboxes and 12 varients of the form)?
Penfold Auto Merged Post;OK so I've made a little progress:
Private Sub UserForm_Click() TextBox1.SelStart = 0 TextBox1.SelLength = Len(TextBox1.Text) End Sub
The above selects all the text in a textbox - I think I need to apply this to the textbox "on click" - however that could be achieved? Then it needs to be generalised - ie:
I am trying to get a particular cell to have normal dimensions when not within that cell, but once opened, contains a default text preferably within a text box format/size.
Say you have a userform with 10 TextBoxes, let’s call them TxtN1…TxtN10 and your workbook has 10 sheets, say “Sheet1”…”Sheet10”. Now if one wants to code a procedure to rename those worksheets when the user hits a command button it’s simple enough.
Sub Rename_click() For i = 1 To 10 With Sheets(“Sheet” & i ) . name = TxtN & i End With Next i End Sub
But now if the user then changes the textboxes TxtN1…TxtN10 to a set of new strings it’s obvious that the following coding segment will not work:
For i = 1 To 10 With Sheets(TxtN & i) .name = TxtN & i End With Next i
It goes without saying that the program will try to select the worksheets with the new name (and they obviously don’t exist yet)…
I need a userform textbox event that fires after I tab or click out of the textbox. Going by the list of options:Beforedragover, BeforeDroporPaste, Change, DblClick, DropButtonClick, Error, Keydown, Keypress, keyup, mousedown, mousemove, mouseup.
I can't figure out which one will do what I want. The change event happens instantaneously which doesn't work. I need to fire off the event when my focus leaves the textbox.
Code: Private Sub cmdSearchButton_Click() Dim txtbox As String 'stores lookup value Dim x As Variant 'value for wwid txt box Dim ForeName As String Dim SurName As String Dim wwid As Variant Dim iPosition As Integer
[Code] .......
Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add
It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..
eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.
What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.
I tried looking for everywhere, but i still cant seem to find the solution.. I have an Active X textbox on a worksheet, and I need it's value to show up on a textbox on my userform, that shows up through a command button on that worksheet. I'm fairly new to vba.
One of the action's on a large group of the controls is the same but except for one number
here is an example
If TextBox107.ForeColor = 255 Then ActiveCell. Offset(0, 53).Font.ColorIndex = 3 If TextBox108.ForeColor = 255 Then ActiveCell.Offset(0, 54).Font.ColorIndex = 3 If TextBox109.ForeColor = 255 Then ActiveCell.Offset(0, 55).Font.ColorIndex = 3
This makes a cell that correlates to the textbox red if the text in the textbox is red.
Now, I loads of these textboxes that all need to run the same code with just the Offset value one digit higher than the last and I was hoping I could create a loop to avoid a huge block of code but I can't work out how to make a constant that will +1 with each loop.
Also, can I assume that a loop will start with the control with the lowest number i.e. Textbox1 and then work its way through the rest of them in order?
I have a userform with multiple tabs. I have buttons on the excel sheet that correspond with the tabs. How do I get the buttons to open up their respective tabs in the userform?
For example: Button 1 opens Userform-Tab1; Button 2 opens Userform-Tab2; Button 3 opens Userform-Tab3; etc.
Right now they all open the userform, but open the first tab.
In the attached file I have put together a userform that contains a drop down calendar in order for users to select relevant dates.
I have two questions:
1 - I've noticed that from creating the userform (04/01/10) the date has remained as this and not updated to the "current date". Is there any way this could be achieved?
2 - Is there any way the code etc. could be manipulated to alter the dates in the Date Entry boxes, based on that entered into the "Rostered Start Date" box.
I.e. If a user was to select 09/12/09 in the "Rostered Start Date" box, the other date boxes would automatically change to that date.
I am planning to set a RESET(command button) button in my userform,so that user can delete or change all the input data which she/he have been entered, back to the default one that I predefined.
I am having a little bit of difficulty find ways to effectively incorporate a checkbox panel into a form interface. What I am trying to do is all the user to select using checkboxes which of 31 separate columns will automatically be deleted or not deleted. The method I have been using is to create 31 checkboxes, and then use the value of the checkbox (true/false) to determine a value in an array, which then can be used to delete the column by a separate sub.
However, I am interested in being able to have the checkboxes start checked or start unchecked by values contained in a different array. My problem is that I am unable to reference the checkbox itself until the form containing the checkbox is opened, but at that point I don't know of a way to cause the desired checkboxes to automatically be selected without placing a command button that must be pressed to fill them in. Essentially I want to be able to open a userform that has checkboxes preselected.
I am trying to copy data from a Textbox in a Userform to a Textbox in another Userform. Is it possible?
In Userform1 I have a button from which I can open Userform2 keeping the Userform1 opened. When closing Userform2 I want to copy the data from TextBox2 in Userform2 to TextBox1 in Userform1.
I was trying to guess the code... but it is not working...:
how can I build a userform to display all values from a row? in order to select a row, i was thinking to use a combobox to display values from one column and based on that selection, display all values in that row? the reason i want to use a userform is because i would also like to be able to edit that data.
When you create a userform in the vba editor, then go to another module, then return to the userform, you see the userform object by default and in order to show the code you have to right-click on the userform and select "view code".
How can I make the "view code" view the default view for the form in the VBA editor? (i.e. so that when the form is selected, I am presented with the code, not the object).
