I run a MTD sales report from Access. If the "SOP Type" in Column Q, is a "4", I have to manually change the Qty and Price to negative values as that "4" denotes a Credit. My question is this...
Can I write a Macro that would be able to read the value in Column Q and, where necessary, make the values negative in the appropriate columns?
I have a large dataset (24000 rows) that requires me to multiply two different columns of integers. In some cases, the two integers are both negative and multiplying them results in a product that is positive. I actually need that product to be negative rather than positive. I can't quite seem to figure out the best way to accomplish this.

I need the conditional formatting to make all numbers that are zero clear (i.e. no fill).
I need it to make all negative numbers to be red, however it doesn't seem to recognize "-1" as a number, and ends up highlight everything red when I say "highlight values < -1 red".

Not all the stocks will come available to buy or sell at 9:30 but will become available at different time intervals, sometimes 10 minutes after the market opens. When a stock opens it is common for it to spike up, then spike down, then go into a "normal" trading pattern, this is called a slingshot pattern.
If I have a predetermined price up or down for 100 stocks, how can I write a macro that will look at the stock prices and if it shoots above or below a certain value it will submit a buy or sell order? (I already know how to submit the buy or sell orders, just need to get an idea of how to get the macro to constantly check the prices and if it meets my criteria to take action.)
Note: I already have a macro running at one minute intervals to collect data. One minute intervals is to long, I need it in second intervals or less to pick up the slingshot pattern. Is this possible?
Formula for this? If a cell in column T is empty, use column U (but make it negative)??

So on column A I have the customer number (i.e. k968, e37, p528,...), on column B i have the customer's name, on column C the street's name, on Column D the house number, on column E the zip code and finally the city on column F.
Right now there are around 600 customers in this list.
I have made a userform with a combobox in which I want to select an existing customer (pulled from the spreadsheet). On the same userform I have textboxes (customer number, name, street, number, zip, city). When I select a customer in the combobox, I want this customer's info to show up in the textboxes. I want to be able to change the info and hit Next to store the changes in the spreadsheet. When I do not select a customer from the combobox, I want to add new info in the textboxes and hit Next to store this info as a new customer. The userform also has a delete button. Then I select a customer in the combobox, this customer (and it's info) should be deleted from the spreadsheet when i hit Delete. So the spreadsheet is variable in length.
I'm having difficulty trying to get the second file appended to the bottom of the 1st imported file. I get "run-time error '13' type mismatch". There is no difference between the two files. I'm thinking there is a problem with my range statement in the second file import, but this range works fine in other macros. Here's my code so far:

I have a monthly forecast document that is updated by an operator monthly. At the end of the month, the operator presses a "Copy Accrual" macro that copies accruals for the month and stores them on a seperate tab. After sending the document back to the Finance team (necessary step due to software complications), Finance will send the operator back an updated file at beginning of next month. The operator than presses a "Paste Reversal" macro that is supposed to input the negative of the accrual stored in the seperate tab. The problem is that it is posting as the same value (not negative of value). I tried recording a Macro to fix this, but it did not work. An example of the code that came up with is:

I have data that comes from a subsytem that places the negative sign at the right of the number, so it is recognized as text. I can get around this using find and replace and then a second step to multiply that by -1, but is there a formula that can do this for me?

It makes negative numbers look like 1245.35-putting the - sign at the end. I need some way to make these negative numbers look like -1245.35. Only these negative numbes need to be re-formatted.
I use data on a text file and import this into Excel and use a macro to format. The data lists invoices and credit notes and their dollar value.
Due to a fault in the program that creates the text file all dollar amounts are shown as positive figures. Credit note amounts should correctly be shown as negative figures.
The invoice number format is 8 characters beginning with a letter and credit notes begin with a number.
Is there macro code that will change credit note values to a negative figure?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup a macro to automate goal seek to calculate the required payment to meet a 12% IRR Lookback at the end of a 10 year period. The problem I am running into is that in multiple scenarios the required return is reached without any excess payment at the 10 year mark so it is returning a negative payment in the goal seek cell. In other words it's adjusting what might be a 13% IRR to a 12% IRR (the minimum return) by showing an expense at the end of the term. I need a way to set it to goalseek with a minimum of 0.

My problem is that for one set of data the chart looks fine....but if a number becomes negative the bar will overlap with the data labels at the bottom and cause it to be unreadable. I have created a template using data validations. I have a drop down in column O, which you can choose from Credit or Charge. In column V, I want:

im trying to incorporate the subtraction within a pivot table. as you can see i am way off. the hypothetical formula logic that im trying to implement within the PivotTable would look something like this:
for A,B or C, sum all (-1) values for each instance of Date and Stage... this will give total bookings
add this total value to the starting values of AA, BB, CC respectively to get the new availability
is it possible to put a message box in a VBA code so that the macro only runs once, else the worbook needs to reopened again for it to work. Is this the best way from preventing the macro to run again?
If i have multiple users, there is always a chance one might accidently press the command button twice.
I am trying to figure out how to make a macro run just once a day -- the first time i open a workbook and then no matter how many times I open that workbook again it does not run......... I know how to get to run automatically when i open the book - just not how to keep it from running again THAT DAY.
Then the next day when i open that book again I want it to run again -- once......and so on..................
How do I make my macro tun in a loop through all sheets?
