I have a macro that prints out several worksheets. My problem is that I want to print these worksheets to a specific color printer. There are many different users and most of them will have a black-and-white printer setup as their default. I want to be able to print using the ip address of the color printer.
I have tried setting the active printer using:
Application.ActivePrinter = "\WP010110.117.3.36"
with little luck... This seems like such a simple thing! I have done a lot of research and can't find a good solution although I have seen the question raised several times!
Ozgrid has been a great source of information and solutions in the past. Please help again!
activesheet.printpreview , Excel crashes if there are no printers installed on the machine. How can i check for printers before calling the printpreview, or else stop the program from crashing?
I have a spreadsheet where I am trying to print barcode labels. The barcode is found in cell A1. I have looked in a lot of places and I can't really figure out exactly how to do it. This is the code that I have so far but it gives me an error. The printer name should be right. Some of this code I just copied from another thread.
I have a workbook with 150-some-odd sheets, each with a store number. I would like to loop through each sheet & print that sheet to the printer with the same name in my printers & faxes queue.
(eg. sheet 9604 would print to printer name oki9604)
Is there a Macro to automatically print the selected print area (print area is also established within the macro itself) to a user's default printer; whatever that printer may be? Note that this printer and/or printer name could change depending on the user.
I would like this to actually select and print to the default printer without Excel having to ask you. I don't even want the "OK" box to show up if possible. I just want them to run the macro, execute all it's duties, and print, all in 1 shot.
i have a macro that loads a userform for previewing and printing selected sheets. The macro works fine for previewing sheets but when i choose the print button the marco trys to save the file as a .mdi, i want this to select the default printer on the pc instead, the excel file will be onpened on many different pcs so the printers will be different on each machine, hence why i want a default printer selected. This is the section of code from the form
I am trying to swith between different printers to print out sheets within a single workbook. Recording the macro doesn't work very well and the code I found online doesn't work either (error: object doesn't support property).
How can I set this up to be a dynamic printer setting? Code I tried:
I have done a userform which allows the user to select printing to each section(All, A, B or C) of the report to either paper size A3 or A4 looking something like below -
Print All A3 A4 (these buttons are option buttons) Print A A3 A4 Prtint B A3 A4 Print C A3 A4
I have coded and part recorded a macro to change the paper size to either A3 or A4 depending on the user's selection.
The problem i have is if i take out the print command, it seems to change the paper sizes as it should but when i print it prints to the same size as the previous print i did, regardless of what was selected on the userform.
I have a printer with multiple tray sizes, and since I need to change paper sizes, I assume i need to change trays as well.
Below is the two macros -
'''''''''''''Set Print area and print to A3'''''''''''''''''
Private Sub PrintAllA3_Click() Dim LastRow As Long Dim LastCol As Long With ActiveSheet LastRow = .Cells(.Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row LastCol = .Cells(2, .Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft).Column End With
I want to automate (with the click of a macro button, or hot key sequence) is to: · take a pre-set print area (which is always the same – 1 page wide x 1 page tall) · send to the printer · select the PDF printer from the list (not the default printer for the computer) · Automatically change the save PDF file name to “(Cell A1) – Weekly Update – (Today’s Date).pdf” · Change location to save file on Desktop
Feels like a pretty lofty goal for a macro to do all of that – please let me know if that is even possible to set up.
I have the following code to print a selection of data which is fine but i need to have in the code a different printer. So, for example my default printer needs to stay the same but when this spreadsheet is open i need the data to be printed to another printer.
We have a an existing spreadsheet which uses a query from Excel to Sage Line50 Accounting software to create labels for stock items. The number of times a label is printed is dictated by the number of items that are required for a particular sales order.
For example - 1006abc 100 No. 2003abc 20 No.
The program would produce 100 labels for item code 1006abc, and would produce 20 labels for item number 2003abc.
However we have recently acquired a heavy duty industrial printer which prints to labels on a continuous roll and I am unable to alter the spreadsheet to work with the new printer layout.
I have attached the spreadsheet and, I hope, the VBA code. PLease also see this link to my previous post - Print Labels Dependant on Content
The below code opens up the printpreview window. This does not allow to select the correct (or change) printer it will automatic use the default printer.
Is there a way for the code to open the print window so I can change the printer and select number of copies?
Code:
Sub Print_Button() Dim ws As Worksheet, cell As Range Set ws = Sheets("main") Set cell = Range("g2000").End(xlUp) Do Until cell.Value "" Set cell = cell.Offset(-1, 0) Loop ws.PageSetup.PrintArea = ("A2:" & cell.Address) ws.PrintPreview End Sub
I'm trying to save excel files as pdf using vba code and the cutepdf printer. If I do this manually it works, but when I write code it saves the output to a file that cannot be read or opened
Unfortunately I don't have access to the pdfdistiller so can't use this technique which I've seen described in a number of forums.
The code I've used is below.
[PHP]Sub pdfing()
Dim cntTrue As Long, cnt As Long Dim rng As Range, bk As Workbook Dim fName As String Dim WB As Workbook Dim FundName As String
I'm writing a macro to search for letters A to Z in one spreadsheet, and copy it's associated data into another spreadsheet where A to Z already exist.
What if, one day, "A" does not exist in the source data? If say, the data started at "B", because there were no results for "A". Currently, the macro will stop working if it attempts to search for a value that doesnt exist.
How do I make it, for example, Search for "A", find that "A" doesnt exist, then skip to Searching for "B", and then "C" and so on?
with creating vb code that will select certain rows in a spreadsheet, set the print area to those rows and print them out, and then reset the print area back to default. The data is all on one sheet, but is split into 5 different areas, each below the next, with the column headers at the top of each. e.g.
and so on. At the press of a button it'll set the print area to the first section and print (the section includes the headers as well as the data). Then at the press of another button it'll set the print area to the next section. There could be any amount of rows of data in each section so it needs to cope with that.
I would like to find a way that will look on a worksheet for a specfic word and highlight all the rows that contain this data.
Column A - Has the wording "JOB" & "WORK"
I want this to look down column A find all the rows with the word "JOBS" and just highlight them rows, i dont want a highlight like conditional formating but a highlight like when you click on the entire row.
I have a spreadsheet I am working on which lists a bunch of equipment. In column A I have a list of the equipment, and in column B I have a list either saying the equipment is Free or the name of who is borrowing it.
I would like to know how to calculate the total amount of 'Free' values in Column B and display the number of occurances in a cell somewhere so I anyone who opens the document can see that there are 5 Items free, and hopefully it auto-calculates each time a value is changed in Column B from Free to who ever is borrowing that item.
I have 3 companies, A, B, and C, split by worksheet.
What i'm trying to do is consolidate all the data on 1 sheet, so it auto populates if new lines are added in the individual company worksheets.
So if a new line of data is added on the Company A worksheet, it will automatically be added in the Overall consolidated worksheet showing everything (so say I have 5 rows of data in each workshet, I want all 15 rows showing in the consolidated), BUT only if it has the following criteria:
That its got some data in Either the 'CF Currency or Other Currency or Amount' columns. If it fulfills any of that criteria, the new line will be added in the consolidated worksheet.
Copy Rows, Meeting Criteria, From Multiple Worksheets & Append To Summary Sheet - This thread has been made by a guy with the same problem as me and the solution for it works for him, but I cannot make it work for mine. I'd guess it would need small modifications but I don't know coding at all.
I'm looking for a solution for my worksheet. I've got a main tab in which contains deposit data, I need to take the raw data format it and break it down into 7 different tabs. Each week a report is exported and then one for the actual month containing all the data. I’m currently manually recording some formatting macros because I haven’t learned to write my own yet. The number of columns in this report is always constant but the rows vary depending on the number of deposits. I have 7 tabs where the data from the main sheet will be broken down in. In my spread sheet I have the following headings. (A1)Date, (A2)Batch, (A3)Source (A4)Control (A5)Total Batch (A6)Total Variance
The information I would use to copy the rows to other sheets is going to be based on (A2).
Anything that starts with U65 would go into the U-65 tab. 1,7 or 8 would go to the lockbox tab. 2 or 5 = IN-HOUSE 3 = WIRES 4 = DATA OCEAN Eh, WH, or WE = ACH
Finally the variance tab will contain any rows which have a number other than 0 Positive or Negative. My biggest problem is that I never know how many rows the data will have so when I recorded my macro I Started dragging my formats to about row 200. It could one day surpass this number so If I had a choice id set it to row 1,000.
I have 2 codes that set up different "print areas". Every time i run one of the codes the print area doesn't get set unless i run the same code again. So if i run code A which will set the print area with no issues and then right afterwards i run code B then code B's print area won't get set unless i run code B a 2nd time. And if i now i run code A, the same issue happens and the print area to Code A won't get set properly unless i run the code again.
Here is part of the code that discusses the print area:
I have this invoice spreasheet and I would like to when I excecute a macro to print, I would also like to use a PDFwritter to automaticly save/print the pdf file to a location and to ad the invoice number to the name like.
INV"current invoice here".
Bellow is the code I currently have. I am pretty sure this was done as I have some invoices saved but now it doesn't work.
Code: Sub Check_Info() If Range("AR1") = Empty Then MsgBox "No Customer selected!", vbInformation, "Customer..." Range("AR1").Select
I have 7 digit values in Col B12: down. I have sheets with names that match any one of these values. Is it possible for a macro to print all sheets in my workbook whose name matches one of the values in Col B cells 12:down??
I have some code to select a print area depending on wether or not there is data in a cell. The code I have so far partially works but not quite like I need it to. Here's what I have,
Sub selectprintarea() Select Case True
Case Range("C5").Value > 0 Range("A1:M47").Select ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$A$1:$M$47"
Case Range("Q5").Value > 0 Range("A1:AA47").Select ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$A$1:$AA$47"
End Select End Sub
It will select the print range if there is data in C5 but if there is data in C5 and Q5 it only selects the first print area. I know I need an "If - Else" or something of that nature but I cant figure that out. Also I need it to look at other worksheets not just the active one. I've tried a replacing the ActiveSheet with Worksheets (Sheet1). but that gives me an error.
I have a print code that I want to run on a loop. In column A Sheet UPSLabels, I have record numbers 1 through 94.
I have a vlookup in "C1" of another sheet that looks at the record number in "B1" and pulls in the correct information from UPSLabels based off the matchin record number in column A. I would like my code to print, update the number in "B1" by 1, and keep printing the records until it reaches 94.
I've probably supplied too much information, but the point is, I need the loop to run until "B1" reaches 94.
I have some code that Im trying to get to look at the sheets in my workbook and then based on if there is data in a cell and/or cells then select that sheet. Heres what I got so far thats not working. I get an error of Next without for.
I am having trouble setting print area on rows that can vary from 100 to 6000 rows. This code works good except that the print area cuts off the last row of data every time. "AreaBegin"=row 6 and "AreaEnd" = to last row after a set number of rows have been inserted based on a counter.
Basically how do I get this code to capture the last row for print area?
Sub SetArea() ActiveSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = Range("AreaBegin", Range("AreaEnd").End(xlUp)).Address
