Error With Hide Rows Macro

Apr 17, 2009

Im trying to use the following code to hide rows on my sheet however its just crashes my sheet:

Private Sub CommandButton2_Click()
Dim Ws As Worksheet
BeginRow = 1
ChkCol = 6

For Each Ws In Worksheets
EndRow = Ws.Range("AW" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
For RowCnt = BeginRow To EndRow
Ws.Cells(RowCnt, ChkCol).EntireRow.Hidden = Ws.Cells(RowCnt, ChkCol).Value = "Open"
Next RowCnt
Next Ws
End Sub
Basically, from row 3 onwards I want to hide rows where AW does not contain 'Open'.

Hide Blank Rows Based On Values In Other Rows

Nov 3, 2006

I have a worksheet used for inventory. In Column A is the quantity (to be entered manually). In Column B is the product description. In Column C is the price of the product, and Column D the total price (column C price x the quantity entered in Column A). At the bottom of the worksheet is a grand total. Also, Column B (products) is grouped into subheadings by the supplier each product came from (for example, row 6 has the title PPG, and then rows 7-137 list every product from PPG).

The calculations in this worksheet work fine. What I am trying to do is, using a macro once all of the appropriate quantities are entered in column A, automatically hide every row of product that does not have a quantity. The tricky part is, if no products under a given supplier subheader are entered, the subheader also hides, and if a quantity is entered, that subheader shows. For example, if I have no quantities under any products for PPG, then the PPG subheader hides, but if just one quantity is added, PPG shows. Also, this list will be constantly updated, new products will be put in and taken out all of the time, so I cannot base the macro on a specific number of rows.

Hide Rows Not Having X Consecutive Values

Dec 12, 2006

I wanted to see if there was a way to hide rows that do not have a pre determined amount of values in a row (one after another). Attached is a simple spread sheet to hopefully illustrate what I need.

I'd like to be able to only show rows where 2 consecutive 0's exsist. Then 3 consecutive 0's. Ultimately I'd like to show anywhere from 2-12 consecutive 0's and have that selection available via the combo box.

Excel - Hide Rows Depending On Values

Sep 12, 2013

I have created an excel document with If formulas. If nothing gets entered in that particular row, the row simply says "None". Is there a way to get rid of any row that contains that value by any chance?

Something along the lines of if the row says "None" then that particular row gets automatically hidden? It would probably need to be in VBA?

VBA Hide Rows Based On 4 Different Values With Combobox

Hide Rows Based On Other Cell Values

Sep 8, 2007

I need to hide rows on a worksheet based on entries from DATA VALIDATION dropdown lists on another. Due to the fact that all the entries are on a different page, and there is no active cells or entries made on the "second" worksheet, the WORKSHEET_CHANGE events will NOT work. Trust me, I have spent two days searching the net for a possible answer and trying every trick I could find. Not to seem redundant or a pain, but right from the git-go, FORGET the WORKSHEET_CHANGE event as an option. I need a way to fire the macros from a formula change in a linked cell, and it won't be an active cell, nor will there be any kind of entry made on that page at all. ALl the entries (choices) will be made on another sheet, but the result needs to be hiding the rows not required based on the choices I make. There are over 300 lines and when I am done there will be only approximately 35-40 left. Right now the people using this are actually making copies of the workbook, and then deleting the worksheets they don't need (I am hiding those with an array) and then deleting the lines they don't need on the worksheet remaining. (Stupid and slow I know, but I didn't develop this workbook, I'm just trying to bring it out of the stone age) Here is some sample code with what I want to do, except it is of a WORKSHEET_CHANGE nature and will not work.

Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Not Application.Intersect(Range("INPUT!M6"), Target) Is Nothing Then
Rows("11:50").Hidden = True
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "100" Then Rows("31:50").Hidden = True
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "100" Then Rows("11:30").Hidden = False
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "225" Then Rows("11:30").Hidden = True
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "225" Then Rows("31:50").Hidden = False
If LCase(Range("INPUT!M6").Value) = "0" Then Rows("11:50").Hidden = False
End If

Rookie- Convert The Scores To A Simple Number Value Additionally

Jan 16, 2010

I am doing a club handicap type of scoring awards for a waterski club
the info I get off the internet from each event is like this example below.

I need to convert the scores to a simple number value additionally if possible choose only the highest score since I only use one score from each event. some events have 2 or 3 scores per skier.

Then I have a vlookup table setup and functioning to bring the handicap to my main sheet.

John M44.00/1200
3.50/1200
2.00/1200

MARK M41.50/1125
2.00/1125
2.50/1200

DAVID M43.50/1425
1.50/1425
.50/2300

KEN M42.50/1300
5.50/1425
2.00/1425

basically if you replace the / with @ you have your score of 4@12 meters this being 6 more points than say 4@13 since the 12 meter rope is shorter and more difficult to get around the bouy.

So can or should I use a replace "/" with"@". but then what I ultimately need is like 4/12 need to return a number like 96 and 4/13 should give me 90.

Would a vlookup be easiest? Does excel have a function like this?

Additionally it would be great if it can choose the highest score and bring only that into the main sheet.

is these event do have non club members in then as well, can I using my existing vlookup sheet return only those names?

Hide #N/A Error

Tried to call this post Hide #N/A but it wouldn't let me.

I have a sheet with links to other pages.
One of the results comes back as the dreaded #N/A.

The formula says ='Andrew Whi'!F31. I know how to do IF formulas but how do I say

When ='Andrew Whi'!F31 equals 0 show nothing.

I know the N/A will disappear when the other sheets are populated, but I won't work with this workbook myself and I've already got emails saying "there are errors" so blanks would be ideal.

Hide Error Value In Spreadsheet?

Apr 15, 2014

I have a simple spreadsheet to track my mileage. It has a column calculating miles driven since the last fill-up. The "miles driven" formula is simply =B4-B3 (current odometer reading minus previous odometer reading.)

Until I input my current odometer reading, the following row's "miles driven" column displays the previous odometer reading as negative value. Example:

ROW 2: Current Odometer Reading = 53,000
ROW 3: Current Odometer Reading = 53,200; Miles Driven = 200
ROW 4: Current Odometer Reading = blank (awaiting input); Miles Driven displays as -53,200
ROW 5: Current Odometer Reading = blank (awaiting input); Miles Driven = blank

How do I hide that negative value & just display a blank cell?

I know how to keep other types of error values from displaying (zero values, #DIV0!, etc.)how to hide this single pesky negative.

Hide/Prevent #DIV/0 Error

Apr 6, 2008

My wife is trying to use an Excel Spreadsheet to help teaching fractions and decimals to children.

She wants a cell where the children enter the numerator and a cell where they enter the denominator and a cell where the result (to two decimal places) is shown. I have designed an appropriate sheet but would like to "fancy it up" a little.

If the denominator cell is empty, the result cell shows the error message "#DIV/0!".

I'd like this message to be hidden until the children have entered both a numerator and a denominator.

The numerator is in cell D2, denominator is in cell D6 and result is displayed in merged cells C8 - E8.

I've tried conditional formatting the cell with white text if the cell is zero and black if it is non-zero and also tried to specify white text if the cell value is equal to "#DIV/0!" but both do not do what I want.

If there was a way to specify white text for this cell if another cell was zero, that would do it too (ie. if cell D6=0 then conditionally format cells C8-E8 to be white text).

I've also tried a rather inelegant solution where the denominator cell has a "dummy value" (say 0.1) and then conditionally formatted this cell to make the text white (so that it doesn't show up). The results cell can then be conditionally formatted with two conditions: 1. If cell = 0 then white text and 2. if cell is non-zero black text. However, this means that as soon as any number is entered into the numerator, the results cell becomes visible.

Example. Initially cell D2 is blank, D6 has "dummy" value 0.1 and results cell (C8 - E8) has the value 0 in it (0 / 0.1 =0) conditionally formatted to be "invisible".

When a positive number is entered into cell D2 (the numerator) such as 2, the result (2 / 0.1 = 20) is non-zero and so 20.00 is displayed.

How can I hide the error message "#DIV/0!" until the denominator is no longer zero?

Error Checking Routine - Check Range Values On Various Worksheets And Report If Error

May 29, 2014

Error Check Marco.xlsm

see attached example. I am trying to write an error detection routine that iterates through worksheets that have numeric values for names (ignore text names or alphanumeric). Macro checks range on each numeric worksheet E3:E33 and is supposed to report back on the SummarySheet if any value other than 1 or 0 is found in range E3:E33 on any numeric-name worksheet. Code as follows:

[Code] ....

Problem is that it just reports EVERY worksheet as having an error when clearly most don't (none do I think in the attached example).

Try changing some of ranges E3:E33 to values other than 1 or 0, it still reports all sheets. Why the macro does not evaluate the range E3:E33 properly and just reports every worksheet as having an error?

Filling Rows According To Cell Values And Deleting Rows With No Values

Jan 25, 2013

I have inherited a spreadsheet with over 800 rows (and daily expanding) and 14 columns of data. I've attached a sheet that looks similar, with only 200 rows for reference. Here are my questions:

1. How can I delete all rows that contain no values?
2. I want to fill an entire row of data yellow if the values in the final two cells (L&M) in the row are equal, and red if they aren't. How can I do that?
3. Column A contains only dates, from oldest to newest. I'd like an obvious visual clue for when the months change. Currently it's a long, merged, blue-filled cell that says "March 2011", for instance. It can't be color because all cells need to be filled based on certain criteria (see #2), and borders aren't obvious enough.
4. I want to click on the row number on the very right, but have it select only columns A-M, is that possible?

I'm also having trouble with autofill. It seems to only work on parts of the spreadsheet. I don't know what settings may have been changed, but I do have autocomplete turned on, and no clue what to do despite hours of googling.

Clear Rows Vs. Deleting Rows To Avoid #REF! Formula Error - Macro

Jun 9, 2009

I have a macro which is copying data from several worksheets into one consolidation worksheet. When determining where to paste the data into the consolidation sheet, the macro includes some logic to find the last row that has data in it (using e.Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row, where "e" is a variable holding the name of the consolidation worksheet).

Once all the data is on the consolidation worksheet, I have a second worksheet with formulas that link to the consolidation sheet. The issue I have is that the first step of my consolidation macro deletes all data on the consolidation sheet to ensure that no data is double-counted). I am deleting the data with logic that simply deletes all rows from 3 to 65536. Once these rows are deleted, Excel returns a #REF! error on my second worksheet which is linking back to this data.

Rather than deleting the rows on the consolidation sheet, I have tried using the Clear and/or ClearContents commands instead. This works (i.e., my formulas no longer error out), but results in the consolidation macro running very slowly (~15 minutes, compared to

When I start using filters, I run into problems:

Step 1: Filter by Unit, condition (e.g.) Unit_23
Excel shows in the status bar the following message: 437 of 2050 records found.

Step 2: If I scroll to the bottom of the table, the row numbers are colored in blue (normal for a filtered list) however the last row is not colored and it actually should not be shown since its unit is not what I filtered for (its unit is Unit_25)

Step 3: Clear the filter of Unit

Step 4: Sometimes (depending on what I filter for), one or more of the bottom rows are hidden!!!

Hide Rows With VBA

Oct 6, 2008

I have sheet 1 and 2 in a work book. Sheet 1 is a list of data consisting of names and address, and quantity, type, price, etc of items shipped to them. Sheet 2 takes the data from sheet one and computes certain formulas. I have allotted up to 100 rows of data to automatically compute, however I rarely need that much. Basically it goes like this. When I open the spreadsheet sheet 1 is not actually blank, instead in cell A1 I have the phrase "Customer Name", in cell B1 I have the phrase "Account Number" and so one. I do this so my coworkers know which info must go in which cells. As long as the info is put in the correct spot than cell A1 in sheet 2 with do X and B1 will do Y and so on. so if I put in 10 customers with accompanying data then the first 10 rows of sheet 2 will compute formulas and the other 90 rows will simple state "No Data" in the cells. What I would like to do is create a macro or assign a command button to HIDE all the rows that say "No Data" in column A. So if I have 30 customers entered then when I go to Sheet 2 all I have to do is hit a button and rows 31-100 become HIDDEN, not deleted.
