I have a date in cell A1, eg 21/02/2008 being 21st Feb 2008 (yes i'm a pommie/limie)
This shows as a date in excel, but if I format the cell as a number, excel will display 39499
So Far, So Good.
Now, I wish the date format to remain in excel, but I wish my script to capture the number as 39499
Unfortunately it captures it as "21/02/2008".
How can I convert the captured value of "21/02/2008" to my desired value of "39499"
And be correct for any date encountered (within plus or minus 10 years only)
for example we have AS1 cell in which appear first number 15, then it change to 5, then it change to 15, then it change to 11 etc. What i need is to capture and lock just the first shown number (in this ex. it has to be 15) and put it to another cell (for ex. cell AT1) Maybe there is any formula ?
I have a number result in a cell (d1) from a calcuting formula elswhere on the spreadsheet.
As the worksheet is constantly calculating the result in d1 keeps increasing and decreasing
I would like a formula in cell f3 that will give the result 1 if the d1 has reached the number 45. If cell d1 has not had the number 45 appear f3 will be 0
I am looking for a formula to capture the "date" of my first sale to new customers.
A B C D E F G H Date of first sale 1 Co. Name 2/2/2012 6/5/2012 7/6/2012 10/16/2012 1/22/2013 4/17/2013 2 ABC Co. $10 $11 $5 $12 $12 2/2/2012 3 Smith Co. $19 1/22/2013 4 Brown Co. $11 $15 6/5/2012 5 AAA Co. $5 $10 7/6/2012
Im trying to capture the first instance of a value(ie 1) and reflect the top row of the value (date). I cant seem to make Hlookup work. I got it to work on the first line using index and match, but when i tried to copy it on the succeeding cells, it gives me the wrong data.
I am trying to capture the date at which my portfolio was at it's highest. I enter the value of my portfolio in H35. F36 is where I am trying to capture the date at which my portfolio was the highest. If a previous date was higher, leave as is.
This presents a problem of a circular reference, but do not know a way around this.
I have the following formula in F36 =IF(H35>G36,(F37),(F36))
In the Data tab under Connection Properties, I have "Refresh every x minutes" checked. Question is how do I capture in a cell within a sheet the last time it was refreshed?
I am trying to capture billable and non-billable expenses in a time sheet by date. I thought it was pretty simple, but after a few days of battling with the syntax (I am pretty new to macros)
I have attached the file I am referring to and highlighted in yellow the significant cells.
1. Trying to get data from the all expense sheets to the "Time Sheet" Tab by date and category. 2. Need to show the billable expenses expanded out to each category (meals, hotel, etc.) by date. 3. All nonbillable is summed up in one column by date.
June expense report has:
Date of ReceiptExpense Type "Billable? Total USD 01-Jun-08 Airfare Yes - Recoverable$2,000.00 01-Jun-08 Airfare Yes - Recoverable$2,000.00 01-Jun-08 Ground Transport No - Training$20.00 05-Jun-08 Meals & Entertain Yes - Recoverable$15.00 05-Jun-08 Meals & Entertain Yes - Recoverable $50.00
1) There are TWO June 1, 2008 items that are "Airfare" & "Billable", therefore in the "Time Sheet Tab, I need it to show that under "Billable Airfare" for June 1, 2008 that it is $4,000.
2) Same as June 5, 2008 for Meals & Entertain.
3) All Non-billable (No - Training; No - XXXX; anything with NO) are summed up in one column by date in the "Time Sheet Tab"
4) There are multiple Expense reports and I need the macro to run through all of them dynamically as they input the data in to show on the "Time Sheet" tab.
This would make my job a lot easier if I could get this running. I dont' think it is too complex, but obviously too complex for me. I started on some of the vba below. I do not have all the parts yet, weird thing is, it did spit out a number, but now it is not. I'm at a loss. ...................................
I have a list of ID# (Col A) and dates (Col B). The ID # of reference is Col (F) and today's date (Col G). I need to count how many future dates there are in the list (Col B) that are unique and in the future from today's date.
I'm still fairly new to all these formulas and functions which is why I'm not attempting this in VBA.
I've attached an example work book and I would like the result in H2.
I am trying to get the results of the number of days between today and a future date. I am using ="cell containing futuredate"-today() and it gets me the correct number of days. The problem comes in when I have yet to populate the future dates. I am getting -39991 (numeric value between today and jan 01 01) and because I am also using conditional formatting this is even more of a problem. Is there a way get excel to display nothing if it is a negative number? or to give a specified resut if the number becomes negative such as Expired or something of that nature?
I need a formula that will calculate the number of days from a date entered into cell A1 to today's date. Whether it's before or after todays date. Example:
I have two columns of dates, leave start and end dates (when people start leave i.e. annual leave). Would need to introduce column(s) to calculate how many days fell within the month including the end date and excludes weekends.
For example, if the staff on leave from 31st March to 6 April, i need to show that the number of leave taken as 1 day in March and 4 days in April.
I'm trying to combine the hours that a employee worked on a single date, with one of multiple time periods that exist for that employee.
I have two sets of data. Set 1 (hours) Employee number, date, hours 12345, 1-2-2014, 6 12345, 1-3-2014, 8 12345, 1-10-2014, 8
Set 2 (periods) Employee number, start date, end date 12345, 1-1-2014, 4-1-2014 12345, 6-1-2014, 1-2-2014
What I'd like to do is to add the start and end date of Set 2 to Set 1 for every row in Set 1
In above example the result should be like this. 12345, 1-2-2014, 6, 1-1-2014, 4-1-2014 12345, 1-2-2014, 8, 1-1-2014, 4-1-2014 12345, 1-10-2014, 8, 6-1-2014, 1-2-2014
is it possible to display the week number of todays date (today()) from a physically entered start date (which would obviously be week one), the start date would be november 4th 2013.
I have a column of figures in a file sent to me recently which are dates but for some reason have been reversed eg 20140321. This is 21st march 2014. However I have tried formatting the number as a date (as we would normally see it in UK eg 21/03/14 or similar) and I cannot get Excel to recognise it as a date - I just get a long row of asterisks. How do I get a recognisable date sequence?
I want to get a return value of date in column C whereas column A represent a date and column B represent a number. Simplest formula in excel is Column C (Feb 26, 2014)= Column A (Feb 21, 2014) + Column B (5). I want it to have in macro code.
I was wondering if anyone knows how I could enter a date in one cell, then another date in a second cell and in a third cell have it have it so it minuses the first date from the second and calculates the difference outputted in number of days.
Take a look at the attachment file. Those highlighted in yellow are entered by the user. What is the formula to calculate the End date in (A6) after the user has entered the start date (A2) & the number of weeks (A4)?
I’m trying to resolve this issue and would appreciate some help.
Scenario I have a tracking sheet that tracks development of work to be completed by individuals. I have a due date column that shows when the work should be completed. Once the work has been completed, the user enters his completion date.
I have a formula that provides an overdue warning (Completion date – today’s date) and some conditional formatting.
Problem When I copy the formula through all the cells in the column I get a number (example 39504) and this changes everyday.
How can I eliminate this being shown as it throws out my average development day calculation?
Is there a UDF that can determine the number of weeks for a date range specific that is not relative to the week number for the year but for the date range itself. i am aware of the weeknum function but this is for week number relative to the year. eg. date range 01/03/2008 - 31/05/2008 has approx 12 weeks and 14/05/2008 will be week number 10 for the range.
I need to create a formula that states a delivery date when the order date is entered in an adjacent column. Items ordered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be delivered the Friday of the following week, eg. ordered 23rd April 2008, delivered on the 2nd of May 2008. Items ordered on Thursday or Friday will be delivered on a Friday 2 weeks later, eg. ordered on the 24th April, delivered on the 9th of May 2008
I have a macro which copies the values from one cell to another. But, while copying the macro changes the date format to a serial number and this doesnot happen all the times. Below is the code I have. I want the macro to automatically convert the date from from serial number to dd/mm/yyyy. I tried quite a different ways, but none of them seems to work. Below is the macro I run to copy the contents from one cell to another.
Sub History() ' ' Macro: Backup results from prior rounds. Please run this macro after selecting the cell where the backup is to be done. ' cur_row = ActiveCell.Row If ActiveCell.Offset(-(cur_row - 10), 0).Value <> "History" Then MsgBox ("Check whether the active cell is the designated history cell. History operation failed") Exit Sub Else ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 & ActiveCell.Offset(0, -5).Value & " "..........................
I have a lot of workbooks with a date as a name (eg. 2004-08.xls or 1999-03.xls). I would like to capture the date portion of this name with a formula in sheet 'Date' cell 'A4'.
I have streaming data coming into my excel spreadsheet. The data is in 1 cell and its a number that changes almost every second. How can I capture and store this data.
