VBA Error And Saving A Range Of Cells As New Workbook

I have previously tried to save the whole original workbook with the following
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:="C:UsersPhilDocumentsMy Excel DocumentsRostersIndividual Rosters" & StaffLastName & " " & StaffFirstName & " - Roster commencing " & Format(DateSerial(Range("X11").Value, Range("V11").Value, Range("T11").Value), "dd mmm yyyy") & ".xlsm
but receive a run-time error message:
Run-time error '1004': Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file
My first request for help is how is the code wrong and how can it be corrected?
Secondly, instead of saving the whole workbook, is it possible to save just a given range of cells as a new workbook, using the format above to give it a personalised filename?

I have been searching for a macro that would lock all the non blank cells (cells that have any value/text) after the workbook is saved.
When the user clicks on save a message box should prompt stating that "The data you entered has been locked successfully".

I have a log that is used to keep when items are due. I do not want my coworkers to delete items once they have been entered and saved. So the excel sheet I am trying to make has certain cells in a range that I want to autolock after saving. For example: the cell range is G3:J402. I enter Customer Name in Cell G3 and the Date the job was received in H3. Once i enter that information I want it locked once i save it. Then later on, my coworker completes the job and enters the date in I2. And again once she saves this she shouldn't be able to edit this information. Then again another day she comes and enters the date on I3 when the product has been shipped out.
While all of the above activity is going on, new customers are continuously being in added in G4, G5....
Also, if possible the date in the H range should be the date items are entered in G (this would be a nice added feature). I've included the file for review. I'm running Microsoft Excel 2010

I have tried hard to find other solutions with links at the following places but not exactly what I'm desiring:Auto lock cells after data entry when file saved...

I should also mention that most solutions either provide for locking/unlocking of all cells but not a selected range. Or they provide for locking/unlocking of a selected range but not for a specific sheet or not after you have saved the workbook.
This is unique in that I'd like it to autolock after i press the save button for a SPECIFIC number of cells. I just wanted to clarify as to not make others think that I haven't used the search function.

I'm trying to do the following
Dim wkb As Workbook
Dim wkb2 As Workbook
Set wkb = ActiveWorkbook
Set wkb2 = Workbooks("F:SuppliersBT Monthly Invoice2014BT Macros.xlsm")
but get a subscript out of range error relating to setting wkb2
The file BT Macros is open - this is where the Macro is stored. What have I done wrong when trying to reference it?

i have a workbook blank template for my colleagues to fill in, they fill in this blank template and save it under the serial number of the item they are creating. However a lot of errors exist when they input the serial number inside the workbook where the serial number is a duplicate of a former serial number.
Anyhow i was wondering is there any way when they input the serial number into the worksheet that i could get it to save in a separate workbook and then have conditional formatting to check those serial numbers in the workbook to see if they match?

I m not able to use the standard Excel Paste Special function when I copied a range of cells in another Excel workbook opened in a separate instance of Excel. Instead, Paste Special thinks that I have copied some non-Excel objects and gave me the Paste As options. This is not the case if I open both workbook within the same instance of Excel. Could you share with us if there is a trick to trigger the normal Paste Special options in such situations (without having to invoke Macro procedures)?

I've created a userform below and I have a code to write the data entered in the form do the following:
1. Save the data in a worksheet (Asset History) within the same workbook,
2. Copy the newly entered data into a another worksheet (Asset Form).
3. Take an image of the data from worksheet (Asset Form) and
a) Create a HTML image on out look
b) Send out an email (Get the email distribution from worksheet (EmailList)
4. I also want to be able to select the data nad change if any of the information changes using the userform.
Not sure why my code is getting stuck and getting the attached error "1004" when I get to saving and emailing. My guess is that the error is on the Checklist option explicit but I cants fix.

I am getting a Type Mismatch Error when I run the following code.
I need to have the name save as
06-01-2012 dispositions.xlsx
in a specific location that is in this line of code. When i have it put 'dispositions' first, it works, but i need the date to show first in the name. Am I missing an additional function or quotes?

I will shortly be running a project over a twenty four hour period, where a group of people will be inputting data into a workbook (one worksheet per hour), and what I would like to know is if it is possible, to input some coding into a thisWorkbook module to action a save on the workbook every time an entry is placed in column A (of each worksheet) which is divisable by 10 (a10, a20, a30 etc).

This code appears to do opposite of what I intended i.e., when I click 'Yes' button it closes the file without saving; and when I click 'No' button it closes the file with saving?

I have an Excel doc with ~20 tabs. Each type represents 1 type of activities (soccer, tennis, etc). The size of the file (with the 20 tabs) is pretty significant (>1mb), which jams our email traffic.
Is it possible to:
- keep this workbook with the 20 tabs when open by the user;
- let the user select and fill in whatever tab he needs (just one at a time);
- have a button for the user to click that will save only this tab with a different filename (therefore, when sent by email, the file should be pretty small).

As I've learned to develop Excel apps with vba over the years I've noticed that, if the Excel app starts to get too large (over 1MB) saving it will often cause the application to crash for no apparent reason - the result being that I lose all the vba code I entered before the last save - with the worst case being that, on occasion I have lost all of the vba code in an applications!!!
So, I've learned to back up often using a third-party utility that I use to save my applications, which works wonders in allowing me to save my application without it crashing. The application is called Code Cleaner 97.exe. It was designed around Excel 97 (which I still use) but if possible I'd like to get an updated version for Excel 2003 and Excel 2007, which I also use.
Does anyone know of a more recent version of this utility, or another similar utility that allows large Excel applications to be properly saved, etc?
Code Cleaner 97.exe was a freebie that was available through one of the old Compuserve Excel forums. It was a very popular utility and was suggested as a means to save one's Excel apps without the app getting trashed, etc.
I'm not expecting a freebie solution so I'll gladly pay for something that allows me to save my large Excel apps without them crashing, etc.

Is it possible to rename a new workbook without saving it. What I do is I create a new workbook but I don't want to save it:
Sheets("Layout").Copy
Now Sheets("Layout") is standing in a NEW workbook called Map1.xls.
I want to rename Map1.xls to Invoice.xls without saving the workbook.
Then I do:
Application.Dialogs(xlDialogSendMail).Show

When the button is pressed, It opens a Mesage Box giving an alert to the User about what is He going to do...if he clik no the macro stops, if the user click yes then it opens an InputBox ....and the name the user writes there will be the name of the new book...
If working good if the user press OK ...my problem comes If the User press CANCEL in the InputBox...The excel try to Save the file as FALSE...and I don´t know how to avoid it.

How do I get a shared workbook to automatically save upon every change by each user. The only way I can get this to work (at this point) is to run a macro that updates every 45 seconds IN EACH WORKBOOK! It's counterintuitive because the workbook is shared (on a network), but each user must start the "time" macro in their "individual" SHARED workbook to allow the automatic saving.
What am I missing? There has to be a more efficient way to do this, right?

I'm wondering if it is possible to prevent a user saving a workbook. If opened as a read-only, excel throws up an option to save with an alternative name. I'm wondering if I can put some code in the Workbook_BeforeSave event that prevents saving of the document unless the application.username is myself.

The Function basically takes any cell in range with a formula and has it blue. If the formula is overwritten by the user it turns the cells colour Red.

In the attached file, I have two columns (A and B) and the column A will vary within the range from A4:A104 and column B will vary according to A. Nevertheless column A has #N/A error which is mandatory for chart. So I am looking for a macro to do the following:
Start with cell B4 and go until value exsists for "B" (let me say for eg. B40) and select the range A4:B40 and ask the user to give name for the export file export only that selection as a tab delimited txt file.
