is it possible to create in Excel something similar to the text box you have when you enter the product key on the text boxes?

like for example, when you need to type 1997 as your id.
when you typed "1" in A1, cursor will automatically move to B1.
when you typed "9" in B1, cursor will automatically move to C1...
and so on..

thus, user that fill in the form does not need to press enter, or right arrow key when inputting their id.

When I type numbers in the cells from D4 to D14, E4 to E14 and so on, the particular cell should turn into "Green". All the the cells will remain "yellow" and blank until numbers are entered based on the daily cleaning of machines. When particular machine no is entered in to a cell cell, that cell should turn green(this shows that "service is done for that machine")

Auto Jump To Pre-defined Cells

I have designed a form in excel so that it can be filled up and printed out. Have attached a sample sheet with a few fields for more detail.

Is there a possibility that when I enter a character in a cell, it automatically jumps to the next pre-defined cell (because not all cells have to be jumped immediately to the next one). Right now I am using protected/unprotected cells so that I can either use Enter or Tab to jump. If there is a macro that can do the trick, entering data would be a lot more faster and easier.

For ex, I can just type out MIRACLEZ, and the macro helps me jump cell to cell as I type.

Auto Expand Row When Typing Lenthy Text

I am trying to have a form that people can fill in and I know it would be far better to use Word for this purpose but it looks so much better in Excel format. The problem is I have merged about 10 cells in a row and copied this format down a few rows.

Now although I have set the 'Text Wrap' option the rows will not auto expand unti to accodate all the text unless I do a ALT-ENTER combo. The problem is anyone using this spreadsheet to complete the form may not know how to use this feature.

Is there anyway Excel can expand automatically or do I need some sort of Macro based in the Worksheet that will automatically adjust the row if the text is too long to fit?

Auto Populate Quarters By Just Typing In The Number Of Years?

I need a formula that can automatically populate yearly quarters in separate columns based on a number of years. So if I put in 5 years - excel would populate 20 columns with Quarter 1 - Quarter 2 and so on. If I then change it to 3 years it would only populate 12 columns.

I am not sure the correct term for this but the autofill drop-down menu that pops up when typing code does not come up for me.

Example:

Sheets("Form").combobox1.

I usually get a drop-down menu with a list of members of the "ComboBox" class.

Is there a setting for that enables/disables this?

Can Jump From One Cell To Another

Is there a formula or macro that will allow me to click on one cell, let's say A5, and it would immediately take me down to another cell. I have a worksheet that lists, at the top of the page, a summary of the numbers entered down further in the worksheet. the whole worksheet is very long so I would like to make it so that if I click in a blank cell, to the left of the data, it would automatically drop down to the original data further down the worksheet.

I already have a cell that uses a function to find my next empty cell
(=INDEX($A$9:$A$10000;EQUIV(1;1/(ESTVIDE($B$9:$B$10000));0)))

Everything works great, but now I made a command button to be able to JUMP to that cell number, and that's where I need help.

I want to take the cell number written inside 1 cell (like "0011") and use that to jump to that specific cell.

1. Create a worksheet for each set of tables (Sheet1: 2x table, Sheet2: 3x table etc)
2. In field A3 (e.g.), I'd type (Formatted as text): 2x1=
3. In field B3, he'd have to type the answer. To prevent him from using the cell as a calculating tool, it will be formatted as text (courtesy of Prevent Someone From Entering A Formula In A Cell)
4. He'll start the test by clicking a button that says "START THE TEST" (or something more exciting, like "Earn some money!"). I'd like a macro to select the first cell (This I can do, believe it or not! :-)) and then, after, say 5 seconds, jump to the second cell, then the third etc up to the last cell (2x13=)
5. Despite the timer, the active cell must be allowed to be changed to the following one (one down) by pressing "Enter" (In other words, if the timer is set at 5 seconds and Jonathan enters the answer in 1, he may then press enter and move to the following cell immediately)
5. He can only enter the answer in the cell while highlighted and I'll have the whole sheet protected once the macro has done its run to the end or once he's answered the final question and pressed "Enter".

I want to jump from one cell position (on picture, marked with numbers from 1 - 6)
But i want to jump to them respectly(first to 2, then on 3....) I have used these numbers just to describe space between cells(in rows and columns), and actually those are blank cells! Starting blank cell can be everywhere(e.g. A2), it doesnt matter, it is only important how to jump from one cell to another in mentioned manner!!!!!!!

Adding Data By Row Based On Typing In Cell Contained In Row

I've built (but not completed) a spreadsheet used to organize multiple Bill of Material lists. This list is a row-by row list of products with information relating to a specific part number including: Mfg, Part#, Qty Used, Cost Ea, Vendor, among many more.

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish first. As this list grows, my intension is the be able to recall a row of data (or control what columns of the row are recalled) from this list and be able to easily add them to the list. I would like to be able to do this by typing in data in one cell in the row (like the Part#), and then have a macro or VB code that will automatically fill in a defined number of columns with the descriptive data like: Mfg, Cost Ea, Vendor, etc.

Currently, the data for the rows (if it already exists) would reside higher up in the list on the same worksheet but could also potentially be on another tab in the workbook.

I am creating a spreadsheet that when I type the product series in cell A1, it will automatically know to enter the corresponding catalog # into cell B1. I will be doing this for hundreds of product series.

For Example:

If I type AEP into cell A1, the worksheet will automatically enter #123 into cell B1,

If I type DEB into cell A2, the worksheet will automatically enter #458 into cell B2,

and so on...

I understand that I will have to create a master list with what series goes with each catalog #, but I am not to sure where to go from there?

Well following on from my question earlier, I am still playing with my timesheet/rota I'm developing.

I have a start time and an end time, which is formatted as hh:mm then an hours cell which adds them up for you.

BUT if someone is on a rest day or a holiday day or a sick day etc, I would like them to be able to type that in without the cell that adds the hours up going doo laly!!!!! (######)

So, is there anyway they can type say 'R' and then getting the hours total cell to ignore it because it isn't a time?
