Copy Text Between Worksheets In Same Workbook To Consolidated Sheet In Same Book?
Feb 24, 2014
I have one sheet for each day of the month with a table that has Employee Name, Reason, and Expected Return. I need to copy each line into the monthly sheet, but each day may have varying number of rows. Needless to say I would like to do this without copying lots of blank lines into my consolidated sheet.

I made the following code to merge 2 workbooks together.
The code is to be executed when the user has Workbook A opened. (All sheets in workbook KPISWD are supposed to be moved after all worksheets in workbook KPICustomers).
I keep getting a debug error on the code that is supposed to do the actual move and loop until it is finished with all of the sheets in Workbook B.
Code:
Dim KPICustomers, KPISWD As String
KPICustomers = ActiveWorkbook.Name
Workbooks.Open Filename:= _
"W:FacturatieKPI per periode SWD.xls"
KPISWD = ActiveWorkbook.Name

I have an excel file which I use when I book keep journals in work. Each time I come across a new piece of bookkeeping I add to the file, name the sheet and index it. (I've attached a loose example for illustration) so the bookkeeping template.xls gets bigger every day.
Currently, when I book keep on a particular day, I open the template.xls workbook;
draft my journals;
and then manually copy the worksheets I have completed during the day from the template.xls workbook and paste the sheets into a new book and save the days bookkeeping as the current date.
With the file I have attached can someone show me how to write a macro and apply it to each of the buttons on the various work sheet tabs (each button will run the same macro).
Upon clicking a button, I would like the macro to;
Copy the active sheet into a new book and save the file as the current date.
Each subsequent click of a button the macro will check if the .xls file exists for the current date, if it does, then it will just copy the active worksheet to the file that has already been created.
In the new file which is saved as the current date, I need to remove the macro button and the hyperlink that reads back to index.
I have had some helpful macro's provided from another forum, however, the other forum does not appear to enable users to upload files, so I can't quite convey what it is I am trying to achieve.

I'm looking to create a summary sheet of all data consolidated to one tab.
On the attached workbook, I want to pull all of the data from the monthly tabs and consolidate it all to the 2012 Totals tab.
How to only pull the nonblank rows, and ignore the headers.
I would like to be able to avoid using a macro for this, if at all possible. I would like for the summary to update dynamically whenever new data is added to any of the monthly tabs.

Currently I have 15 Prepaid schedule sheets that get pulled together as lines in a detail sheet. The way I have the detail sheet set up currently is that I have designated 200 rows for each prepaid schedule sheet, and then I manually changed the sheet reference in the formulas every 200 lines or so, for each prepaid schedule account. One such formula looks like this:
=IF(OR(H11="",H11=0),"",IF(OR(LEFT('Prepaid Gnrl Ins'!A11,8)="Balances",'Prepaid Gnrl Ins'!A11="Variance"),"",CONCATENATE('Prepaid Gnrl Ins'!A11," - ",'Prepaid Gnrl Ins'!B11," - For month ending ",TEXT(Menu!$I$4,"mm/dd/yy"))))
The result of that formula is this: Beecher Carlson - 11/1/11 - 4/1/13 - For month ending 02/28/2013
The detail sheet also includes a formula to find values to be expensed. that formula is:
=IFERROR(IF(HLOOKUP(Menu!$I$4,'Prepaid Gnrl Ins'!$I$10:$T$110,A11,FALSE)=0,"",IF(F11="","",HLOOKUP(Menu!$I$4,'Prepaid Gnrl Ins'!$I$10:$T$110,A11,FALSE))),"")
I'm trying to shrink down the over all size of this detail sheet and I would like to be able to write code with the syntax:
IF {HLOOKUP of value in menu sheet, find in column 10 of active sheet and offset by 1 (row 11)} contains a value THEN run all formulas (examples above) and paste into detail page UNTIL value in column A contains "Balances".
After finding the word "Balances" the macro would move on to the next prepaid sheet and do the same thing.

I have a workbook that contains two worksheets. The columns are the same between the two, column A is the Employee ID in both worksheets. The other column headings are: Name, address1, address2, city, state, zip, EmgerName, EmgerType, Cell, Address1, Address2, City, State, Zip.
What I'm looking to do is compare WS1 with WS2 and in WS2, what ever is different from WS1, the font color changes to RED. For example let say for employee number 1234, everything is the same expect for EmgerName and Cell, then these fonts are changed to RED in WS2 so I can identify them quickly.

I would like to know if there is a way to copy a spreadsheet and paste it into a new tab on another spreadsheet. We currently download 2 lots of spreadsheets from SAP and would like to create another spreadsheet to act as a 'central' preadsheet. What I would like to happen is that the data from the 2 downloaded spreadsheets will be automatically pasted into 2 new tabs on the central spreadsheet, then run some formatting macros (which I can do fine).

I have a macro that I would like to run on every worksheet in my book (over 100 sheets wide). As it takes about 20 secs to run on each sheet, and I don't want to click from sheet to sheet, how can I make it run on every sheet in the book? And no, they aren't named sequentially, either alphabetically or numerically.
is there a function in Excel to return the number of sheets in a book?

Every time I try however, it formats the entire cell in bold. Is there a way to isolate just the word "click" for instance in all the cells in each worksheet and change the formatting to bold, and leave the other text within the cell normal?

I have a workbook containing several worksheets I want to copy to a workbook of their own and save under a specific name/password through a macro.
However, I have five difficulties:
1) I want to new workbook to contain only 1 worksheet. So, only the worksheet copied from the original workbook, and no other worksheets.
2) I want to be able to manually select the destination file for the copied workbook, however. This should be the same file for all workbooks.
3) I want the data copied from original worksheet to be ‘pasted as value’ only, so no formulas in the new workbook.
4) I want the new workbook to be read-only. Therefore I want the workbook to be /locked and password protected. So, the password should be only for altering cells, not for opening the workbook. See also point below.
5) Regarding the naming and passwording part I have made a matrix table in a worksheet named: “Rekeningen” (this worksheet is in the original workbook). This table contains three columns:
Column A, cells 40:65, contains the names of the worksheets I want to copy
Column B, cells 40:65, contains the names of the new workbooks
Column C, cells 40:65, contains the passwords of the new workbooks
So for example ....

Assume 2 Workbooks - the Active one and "Book2".
I mannaged to copy ALL the sheets from the ActiveWorkBook to "Book2" with the following code - but as you can see the code copies each of them AFTER the last sheet in "Book2".
Sub Copy_Sheets()
' Copy All sheets from ActiveWorkbook to "Book2.xls"
For Each SH In ActiveWorkbook.Sheets
SH.Copy After:=Workbooks("Book2").Sheets(Workbooks("Book2").Sheets.Count)
Next
End Sub
How can I copy them to "BEFORE", lets say Sheet(1) in "Book2" ?
I tried to change the SH.Copy command to somthing that sounds logic to me, such as:
SH.Copy Before:=Workbooks("Book2.xls").Sheets(1)
but got the: "Run-time error '9' - Subscript out of range".

Using a Command button into my Master file, I'm looking for a code that give me an option to select an existing file that will have a variable name & path, open it and then copy all worksheets contained within it, into my Master workbook. Then close the selected file on completion.
Not sure if it's important but some of the copied worksheet names will contain copies. e.g. Apples, Apples (2), Pears, Pears (2). etc.

I have developed a macro, run by a button click, in my workbook.
I have about 5 other workbooks to process, what I want to do is to have my workbook with my macro open, then either copy or import these other 5 workbooks, one at a time, into my current workbook so I can run my macro on their data. Not sure if I need to copy them in or not, but thats all I can think of. I'm not even sure how to do this manually, I tried having my workbook open and doing a file - import on the .xls file, but it seems to be translating my data and I'm ending up with a value of 'f1' in one of my columns, no idea what that is. All I really want to accomplish is to run my macro on each of the 5 workbooks, one at a time.

I have different excel files in a specific folder. All the files have only two sheets with same kind of data, formatting etc. Now I want to merge selective files on need basis (only the first sheet data) into a new different worksheet in which I will be running the code. Provide me a macro which will ask me to select the files I want to merge. Also the data range of the files ( needs to be merged) will vary time to time, so the macro needs to take care of that as well.

I have a workbook with 30 some sheets. I would like to have a macro that if i select multiple sheets, will paste the values and formats of those sheets into a new workbook. I would like this to keep the names of the worksheets when transfered to the new workbook.
Thus far, I have been using this code, which does nearly everything i want, but instead of pasting the values, it gives me #VALUE! for nearly all the cells. Most of the cells are using Vlookup and/or Indirect functions to reference other sheets- not sure if this is relevant. The few cells that do paste accurately are either text or simply reference another cell on a different worksheet without a function.
Here's my code.
Sub PasteShtVal()
Dim w As Worksheet
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.Copy
For Each w In ActiveWorkbook.Sheets
With w.UsedRange
.Value = .Value
End With
Next w
End Sub
