I'd like to create a button that makes the "Find and Replace" popup come up when pressed. How to do this? (Ctrl + F is the shortcut for it)

create a macro that will find and calculate based on the details of 4 columns on the same spreadsheet.

Basically, here is what I need to do:

1. Need to calculate how many QTY IN (Column F) and PALLETS IN (Column I) of a specific PART# (Column A) and LOT CODE (Column B) For example if enter a PART # and LOT CODE, it will calculate how many QTY IN and PALLET IN of that PART # and LOT CODE.

2. Need to do the same for QTY OUT (Column G) and PALLETS OUT (Column J) also.

3. Output should contain the PALLET # , QTY IN and PALLETS IN based on the PART # and LOT CODE search. I just want to simplify the search function in this spreadsheet because it is very cumbersome if you need to find how many items left for that PART # and LOT CODE.

Form Button On Spreadsheet - Identifying Which Row The Button Is On

I am imagining a spreadsheet with the equivalent of an info button in each cell of column A. The idea is the user clicks the button to open a User Form containing additional info about the entitity represented by values on that row.

E.g., Row 1 is labels, row 2 is all about Bob, 3 is about Jane, 4 is about Freddy. If the user clicks the info button on row 3 then a user form opens up and displays additonal info about Jane.

I am wondering if there is a way for VB to identify which row the clicked button was on without having to write individual code for each button telling VB which row the button was on.

I am hoping there is some form button property I can reference or interrogate which will give me a cell address; a button.position property or similar. This will obviously save me a lot of coding if VB can dynamically determine which row is being interrogated as there will be a couple of hundred of these to start with, potentially thousands. (I realise Access is a better solution for database interrogation, but I have to work with excel at present).

Ultimately, the user form that the button calls up will have a list box on it and I want the list box to default to the entity on that row, and allow the user to browse the other entities if they want to.

If there isn't a solution for this I will just have a single info button for the users to click that opens the user form and then they can select the entity from a list box. But I would like to offer the "intelligent display" option but don't relish coding the equivalent of several hundred "You clicked button four hundred and seventy six, default to info card for bert".

Insert Command Button On Spreadsheet

Using excel 2003. Cannot insert command button on a spreadsheet we have. Almost all icons in the control toolbox are unavailable when Im on this specific spreadsheet. Any new documents I open work fine. Is there some kind of protected spreadsheet that wouldnt allow for a button, picture, textbox label to be inserted???
I didnt make the original sheet but am just editing and improving it.

I would really appreciate any advice you could give, I have attempted to attach a jpg showing the greyed out icons in my controltool box

I have a macro attached on Sample 01 that outputs a couple files after a certain date. The problem is the date that it choses is always "todays" date and I want to be able to change the date, the cell that I need to be able to change is cell c2. The problem is the rest of the formulas in the cells change to number format and don't stay in date format.

I think I've more or less solved my own problem with merging the data of two spreadsheets together (not as cleanly as I'd like of coarse), but the problem is the person I'm going to train to use this spreadsheet is not very computer savvy and this needs to be as easy as possible. So I want them to just be able to click 3 buttons and be done with the process.

I have built a Form which displays data from a spreadsheet. The user opens the form by clicking on a command button from the spreadsheet. The Form initially opens with the data from Row 4 of the spreadsheet (because this is the first row of the spreadsheet which contains the data for the form). The user can then sequentially access other rows in the spreadsheet by clicking on buttons in the Form which advance the extraction by one row.

I would like to add a command button to each row of the spreadsheet that would open up the Form and set the values in the Form to the same row which the command sits on.

I want a Macro that I would like to assign it to Control Button on Spreadsheet 1. When the user clicks on this Button only "Selected data" i.e. Cells A3, B4, C5, E5 will be transferred to Spreadsheet 2. The data transferred into Spreadsheet 2 should be inserted in the first available row and hence not override other data. Also, I have a question, both files will be sitting on the same shared network path however,for the update to happen to we need to have both files opened at the same time? If yes can we design something to update Spreadsheet 2 without having it opened?

I have made a userform with some code in it that I would like to be on the spreadsheet itself instead of a user form? How is this done? The problem is getting the below code to work at spreadsheet level since I did not write the code below. I have the button the spreadsheet, but I don't know how to see the name of the button or assign the below command to the button.

I need a macro to copy data from the two combo boxes that appear on the spreadsheet and place the data into cell A for the first combo box and cell B for the second combo box.

I have two spreadsheets of data I export regularly from an outside source. I want to consolidate the data from these two sheets into one large sheet with all the data in a more concise form bringing in only the data related to certain parts I am conducting analysis on. I have a list of these parts already. My first thought on how to do this would be to use the list in an entry for an input box and have that list be the index for a for loop in which i searched for a part code, copied the entire corresponding row, and pasted it back into the master sheet. I have gone through and tried to do this but I am running into problems because sometimes I have multiple rows of data that correspond to a single part number. I have attached a template of the way that the data should look in the master file with the multiple rows of details that correspond to just one part entry.

What i would need is a script so that it doesn't look at those specific cells
but a range of cells and every time the button is clicked it will fall into the first empty cells.

So example when button is clicked
Case 1 if cells C242 has something look at cell C243
If cell C243 has something look at cell C244
If cell C244 has nothing then enter data that goes with that button.
I have around 6 to 7 different buttons.

I have a userform, with a save button.

The Save button transfers data from my userform to a worksheet via variables.

It then proceeds to use the variables to generate further data, dependant on a combination of the variables, as this process creates a row of data on the first available empty row, as this script is being used in a loop, ie add another record yes or no.

I need to incorporate a method whereby the user at any point can click on cell S(x) where (x) corresponds to the row clicked, which will then run a macro which will allow me to change a value from OPEN to CLOSED and also add a userentered date into a field called DATECLOSED, it is imperative that this process only work on the row in question.

I've got a master spreadsheet grabbing data from 12-13 different tabs/spreadsheets.

One of those has a table, and I was wondering:

Is it possible for the master spreadsheet to automatically add a new line every time someone adds a new line and creates a new entry in a different spreadsheet?

In other words,

If there is a table in the master spreadsheet, and someone adds a new line, is there a formula which allows the master spreadsheet to add a new line in order to autopopulate?

First the sheet is placed in remote server and had two working sheets (say sheet 1 and sheet two), in sheet one there are fields must be filled by the user and a sequence number must be issued for each request.

1- when the button clicked the request serial number must be added by one (counter).
2- log the new serial number, user name and datetime in sheet 2.
3-save the sheet on local pc
4- disable the button after click so that the user could not click the button twice for one request.

Cmd Button Code To Display Video In Windows Media Player Object In Spreadsheet

I have a sample spreadsheet (uploaded to this thread) in which I have 10 command buttons named 'Video 1' to 'Video 10'. Next to these buttons is a Windows Media Player Object.
I require the code that upon clicking any of the video command buttons, the relevant video is opened and shown in the windows media object within the same sheet (sheet1).

I'm sure the code for each button will be the same apart from the cmd button reference number/name and the link to the file to be played.

If we assume all the videos are called as per their buttons i.e. Video 1.wmv, Video 2.wmv ... Video 10.wmv; and the location of these files is under 'C:Films', can someone post up some code for button 'Video 1' making it clear which variables to change for linking to the different files.
