Delete Expired Dates From A List Of Employees

Aug 3, 2009

Basically I have a list of employees. This list is simple in that it shows their off time "From:", "Till:". in columns to the left of there name. So in Cell A:A would list all of there names.. In the example sheet I have just a few listed. To the left of their name if "From:" (column B) and then "Till:" (Column C). And this From, Till repeats itself for several columns so that multiple off-times may be made for each employee.

Basically what I want to do is delete any sets of dates that are expired (based on the "Till:" date) and shift the remaining dates over. So in other words, if Sam has a date in there of 8/1/09 to 8/1/09 meaning he is going to be off for just that day, and today's date is 8/2/09, then that "from" and "till" date of 8/1/09 to 8/1/09 would get deleted from his list and the remaining dates (if any) would get shifted to the left.

Hopefully I have provided a good enough explanation of what I am trying to do here.. Please let me know if you have any questions! I have provided an example the reflects my setup (and the setup can be changed if it makes anything easier)

Copy Data Based On Date In Cell

Mar 22, 2008

I am trying to build a summary report that pulls from two different worksheets within the same workbook. Here's the context of my problem:

Worksheet 2: Column A has a list of dates. The corresponding information for each date is within the row. Sometimes, there are repeated dates with different corresponding information.

Worksheet 3:This is my summary sheet. This report needs to update daily and only pull data related to "today's" date. My question is if i have three rows with the same date but different data, how do i tell my summary sheet to display all three rows for that date. So far, I can only get it to pull the data from the last row with that date.

Macro To Delete Cell Contents If Date In One Cell Bigger Than Date In Another Cell

I however need a macro that will delete the cell contents if the "Start of Cover Period" (column AK) date is > than the "End of cover period" (column AL) date.

Thus it must compare ak2 with al2 and if ak2>al2 then clear both cells. if AK2

Querying Data From Oracle Based On A Date(s) In Cell H1 (or H1 & H2).

Mar 19, 2008

I currently have an Excel file with the ODBC connection and using my own SQL. Doing it this way would require the super user to go into each sheet then to the SQL each time to change the dates. I know there is a way to allow them to simply change the dates in cells H1 (or H1 and H2) then refresh data and whoolaa it would be updated.

My goal if possible via this board and all the knowledge available would be to have a spreadsheet allowing a super user to change the date in Cells H1 and H1 & H2 on sheet Tst1 and have the data returned to sheets (Tst2, Tst3) based on my own SQL statements.

Here are some parameters that I think you might need to know.
(And as you may guess I do not have much VBA experience so if at all possible use my naming convention shown below. and feel free to write for a first grader.)

User Name (not actual): "UID"
Server (not actual): "DEV"
Password (not actual): "PWD"
File Name: Excel_ODBC.xls
Sheet Name: "Tst2"
"Tst3"
Output Cell: "A1" for both sheets.
Oracle table name: UAB .................

Delete A Row Based On A Date Stored Within It

Jan 19, 2012

I have a table that extends from A1 to S630 (the number of rows changes as records are added and deleted).

The function to add rows based on the date is fine and I have implemented, but I cannot figure out how to delete a row based on a date.

The date is entered on a sheet called Calendar in Cell J20

so Sheets("Calendar").Range("J20")

and the date is in column B of the table, which has been made using the Table function

Is there a way of scanning through the whole table deleting all the rows with the date entered into J20 on the calendar sheet.

How To Delete Cells In A Range Based On Date

The fun begins where some dates are based off annual, semi-annual, and quarterly. What I want to do is be able to delete cell values so they are not reflected in the final percentage. I know there is a marco that deletes the entire row but that is too much I just want a target cell.

Delete Rows Based On Date Column

modifying the following from deleting rows older than 365 days to delete rows older than 12 months. So I can keep a rolling year by month.

Sub DeleteOldSR()

Application. ScreenUpdating = False

iCol = 7 'Filter on column G (Create Date)

For x = Cells(Cells.Rows.Count, iCol).End(xlUp).Row To 2 Step -1
s = Cells(x, 3).Value
If s Like "Closed" Or s Like "Closed w/o Customer Confirm" Then
If Cells(x, iCol).Value < (Date - 365) Then
Cells(x, iCol).EntireRow.Delete
End If
End If
Next

Application.ScreenUpdating = True

End Sub

When I try to copy the formula from the 1st rows and drag it down to the below rows. The Status column will say Expired and highlight the entire rows red.

Is there a way to fix this that if valid until column, valid from column and redeemed date is blank then status will just be blank?

Export Data To Sheet And Then Delete Rows NOT Contain Today Date

Jan 25, 2013

I have found some excellent code that exports rows to individual sheets based on values in a column, and it works perfectly. I have found some code that deletes any rows that do not contain today's date:

VB:

Dim LR As Long, i As Long
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
LR = Range("O" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
For i = LR To 1 Step -1
If Range("N" & i).Value < Date Then Rows(i).Delete 'N is column "Treatment Date"
Next i
Application.ScreenUpdating = True

But I'm having trouble adding this to the code I'm already using (that is working):

VB:

Sub Copy_To_Worksheets_2()
'Note: This macro use the function LastRow and SheetExists
Dim My_Range As Range
Dim FieldNum As Long
Dim CalcMode As Long
Dim ViewMode As Long
Dim ws2 As Worksheet

[Code]...

I tried adding it after the code " ' delete columns (after exporting from Current Patients)" but I received the error "Compile error - Duplicate declaration in current scope" as it relates to Dim LR As Long.

I have attached my spreadsheet : Daily Treatment Summary.xlsm

Delete Rows Based On Data From Two Columns?

Sep 21, 2012

two things on the attached sheet.

First problem: in column B, I have a formula based on contents of column A. However, the limitations of 7 nested IFs leaves me with errors - I need 3 more IFs. Is there a way around that?

Second problem: I need to show the row of the first (earliest time in column A) and the last (latest hour in column A) record for each name. I've been sorting by name and time, then manually deleteing the rows I don't need. I know there's a better way, but I can't find it!

Conditional Formatting For Relative Range Of Expired Dates

Apr 30, 2008

I am using Excel 2007.

I am using the coditional formating to highlight whether a date contained in particular cell is within 12 months of todays date or over 12 months in the past.

This is done by placing the =TODAY() in a cell at the top of my sheet and then in another cell, doing a DATEDIF calculation between the two and this works fine. I can then specify in my conditional formating to turn the cell containing the date a funny colour if the cell doing the DATEDIF calc is > or < 12. Simple!

What I can't do is copy this formatting for the other 30 rows of dates I have. When I try and copy them, it references the original cell, not the one for that row. Example: If my date I want to test is in B2 and my DATEDIF clac is in U2, when I copy the coditional format to the new row, say B3, the new rule still references U2, not U3. I understand about dymamic and static references and I have removed the '$' signs from the formula.

Delete Row Based On Cell Below

I currently have a spreadsheet with circa 50,000 lines with info regarding our websites at work. In every row, column "A" contains a unique reference number.There eill either be 1 row for this reference number, or there will be 2 rows. there will never be more than 2 rows for each reference. I wanted some code to say that if theres only one row, then delete it but if the if the cell underneath it is the same then its ok. I tried the following but it deletes the row anyway, supposing the cell under it is the same or not

Sub test()
Dim icell
icell = ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Value
Range("A1").Select
Do
If ActiveCell.Value = icell Then
ActiveCell.Offset(2, 0).Select
Else
