I am using a stacked Data chart with Layout #5. See attached. I calculated in a table below the % difference between the 2 months, but is there a way to display this % difference of the 2 months either in the chart or in a table (or both)?
Is there a way to modify the table only? Or is there a different type of chart that can display this?
I have table with companies across in columns, months down the side in rows, and 6 parts to the data in addition to company and month. I have quotes from 3 different sources, and won deals from those 3 different sources. How do I create a pivot table/chart to analyze the data quickly, or find out Top 10 companies quoting with value and top 10 companies with won deals?
I have attached an example, taking out the company names with A, B, C, and source with A, B, C. The cells do have an array formula which picks data from another spreadsheet. Which, by the way, is really slowing my machine down each time I type something into the spreadsheet.

what is the formula to convert the date in MMYYYY into some numbers so that I can derive the difference between 2 dates?

I have 2 dates 31-Jan-09 and 28-Nov-05 in Column A & Column B respectively. I would like to derive no. of months between the difference of the 2 dates which in this case is 38 months.
I have dates in Column D (mm/dd/yyyy). I'm trying to write a macro to compare the date in any cell in Column D to the current date. Then, if the date in that cell is within a month of the current date, color it red. If the date is within two months, color it orange. Etc, for up to six months. I've read up a little on dates in VBA, but I'm pretty lost.

I am looking for a formula that will return the number of months (periods) between two dates, ignoring days and years. Using the above dates, which cannot be changed, the result needs to be 63. The formulas I have tried keep returning 64 because my later date is at the end of a period, and my earlier date is at the beginning.
I am trying to understand how the Charts by month example has been created. So far I have managed to create the validation and define a named range with the offset formulae. However when I select the month from the validation list it only changes the y axis labels on the graph and not the data itself (example attached). I must be overlooking something very simple. I would also like to know if it is possible to create a further selection where by you could also define a start month e.g. assuming data range of Jan-Dec you could select March - September.

I need the column from B11 : B34 to be filled with due dates for every month. Suppose if the loan date is 12/05/2013 and number of dues is 10 then in B11 I should get 12/06/2013 , B12 it should be 12/07/2013 and B13 should be 12/08/2013 and so on based on the number of dues.

Currently column B simply has =A+84 and will display a date 3 months in future.. Great..

I would like to have a popup that shows up whenever a stock price has a 15% or higher return. I would like the popup to show the stock name. I realise that conditional formatting would highlight whatever is over 15%, but the workbook has multiple worksheets and I would like it to popup even when i am on another worksheet.

This formula should display "intime" if the diference between both is under 20 minutes, "outime" if the diference is above 20 minutes and it should display "error" if the time is under 0 minutes (this will only happen when someone makes a mistake typing in the time. For example 10:37:00 and 10:36:00)

View 4 Replies View RelatedSee attached file. I have managed to work out how to update a chart automatically when a new row of data is added. However is it possible to tweak the formulas I am currently using so that it will only include 12 months previous.
For example if you add Jan in to row 26 the chart will show Feb-Jan data (Row 15-26).

I've attached a chart with variance data for each month of the year. I've used an IF formula to "NA" the months with no data, so nothing shows up in the chart. However, I would like to know if it's possible to have the chart only show months with data. The IF formula gets rid of the data point but it doesn't prevent the chart from showing the month on the X axis. In the attached file I manually selected the three months with data.

The problem is when i create this pivot table on the horizontal i see all the days of the year, as opposed to categorized by month. I've tried to 'group' the months together but not very successfully. HOW to do this grouping elegantly?

the first cell in my table has a date but I only want the table to be 2 months long so normally I would use the formula =cell above+1 but with different length months that wont work so then I thought can i have a formula like
=if(B7>$B$7+2months,"",B7+1)
where b7 is the first date of the first month
I use a spreadsheet to extract data from an access database. When the data is extracted it has about 10k line items and one of the columns displays the date. I formatted the cell to simply display the month (Jan, Feb, Mar, etc). When I create a PivotTable with the 10K line items each line displays the month. When I use the date as a filter it displays every single lines month in the filter box. Is there any way I can combine the months in the filter box so that each month would only display once collectively instead of for each line item?

I have a sheet (like example attached). it's broken out by month for many decades. certain columns like B-N need each field populated. There are others like O, P, Q, where I need to delete all cells except for 2 months that year (in this example, all except May and November).
Is there a shortcut method to do this quicker?

I would like to create a calculated field in the pivot table that will subtract the items received from the items shipped columns. I have attempted to add the calculated field using the tool bar but it keeps giving me "0" for every item on the pivot table when there are obvious differences.

I was able to use pivot table to set up the balance sheet and income statement.
1. now each month is a field which I can choose to add to the report, but the field list is getting too long (and growing). Is there a way I can insert 1 field (for the user to input the exact date) or 2 fields (to input year and month) and the pivot table can pick up the input and refresh either automatically or manually.
2. I looked into the "group" function in pivot table, but how do I group the above data in quarterly and yearly fashion so the user can get those information quickly?

How to create a pivot table that has a calculated field for the difference in AmountUSD between FY12 and FY13 (for each person).
On this chart the X-axis are dates and the y-axis are daily scores. The chart shows each day's data point and computes a trend line. How can I dynamically calculate and display the average score as a single value somewhere on the chart? I could calculate the average in a cell outside the chart object but would like it to be part of the chart. I do not want to show the average as a separate horizontal line within the chart grid.
