I've attached a chart with variance data for each month of the year. I've used an IF formula to "NA" the months with no data, so nothing shows up in the chart. However, I would like to know if it's possible to have the chart only show months with data. The IF formula gets rid of the data point but it doesn't prevent the chart from showing the month on the X axis. In the attached file I manually selected the three months with data.
See attached file. I have managed to work out how to update a chart automatically when a new row of data is added. However is it possible to tweak the formulas I am currently using so that it will only include 12 months previous.
For example if you add Jan in to row 26 the chart will show Feb-Jan data (Row 15-26).
Attached please find two charts based on data from 2003 until year-end 2006 (estimated). I want to show that the data is "seasonal" and sales depends on the month it falls on... i have several issues with the chart, is the second chart "too" overlapping and is there too much data to read? 2) how can i get the text boxes to go in the same direction as the chart..i know in powrerpoint you can move the direction of the textbox but how in excel? in sum, i can only choose one chart but still want to make each chart look much better.
I know I will earn $5,000 of monthly revenue from a client. $5,000 is represented in a monthly revenue cell. I have 12 columns showing the 12 months of the year. There is an additional cell showing the customers implementation date.
If a company's implementation date is on or after the 15th of the month (example: 3/28/2014) then the next month (April 2014) is skipped and the $5,000 is returned to columns May through December. All months prior to May return $0.00. If the implementation date is before the 15th day of the month (example: 3/13/2014) then the next month (April 2014) and all months after will return $5,000. All months including March and prior must return $0.00. If the implementation date is unknown then 12/31/2099 would be in the implementation date cell and $0.00 is returned for all 12 months.
Essentially, if the implementation date is prior to the 15th of the month the revenue will show as of the following month. If the implementation date is on or after the 15th of the month the revenue skips the following month and will show the month after.
When I copy the tab and change some of the data within the cells, I want the macro refer to the chart on the current tab and the values in the current tab - as currently it refers to only "Chart 2" and the values in the tab 'Figure 2 - WE OPH'.
I've tried changing the sheet name to ActiveSheet.name but that doesn't seem to work.
I have been trying to create a macro in excel to chart a selection of data and to output the chart on the active sheet where the data was taken (as opposed to a named sheet). So basically, I have about 300 worksheets with data, and I would like to have a button on each page that automatically charts that data when clicked, and outputs the chart to the page where the macro was clicked. However, I have not been able to figure out a relative reference that will allow me to make the LocationasObject reference simply the ActiveSheet as opposed to a specifically named sheet. See my code below, which references an output to a worksheet called "Charts". Right now, all of my charts are outputting to the sheet called "Charts", as opposed to the active sheet.
Sub ConsDiscChart() ActiveCell.Offset(29, 11).Range("A1").Select Selection.End(xlToLeft).Select Selection.End(xlToLeft).Select Selection.End(xlToLeft).Select Selection.End(xlToLeft).Select Selection.End(xlToLeft).Select Selection.End(xlToLeft).Select Selection.End(xlUp).Select Selection.End(xlUp).Select Selection.End(xlUp).Select Selection.End(xlUp).Select Selection.End(xlUp).Select Selection.End(xlUp).Select Selection.End(xlDown).Select ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1).Range("A1:B1").Select Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlDown)).Select ActiveCell.Offset(0, -1).Range("A1:C24").Select Charts.Add ActiveChart.ChartType = xlLineMarkers ActiveChart.Location Where:=xlLocationAsObject, Name:="Charts" With ActiveChart .HasTitle = False .Axes(xlCategory, xlPrimary).HasTitle = False .Axes(xlValue, xlPrimary).HasTitle = False End With End Sub
I have a line chart displaying monthly profits. Is there a way that I can just display the data up to todays date. As the days got on, I want the chart to grow. I currently have the whole month on the chart and I want to get rid of the straight line showing to the end of the month.
I am trying to understand how the Charts by month example has been created. So far I have managed to create the validation and define a named range with the offset formulae. However when I select the month from the validation list it only changes the y axis labels on the graph and not the data itself (example attached). I must be overlooking something very simple. I would also like to know if it is possible to create a further selection where by you could also define a start month e.g. assuming data range of Jan-Dec you could select March - September.
I have a spreadsheet (attached) that has a formula, which calculates the number of days between two dates if another field contains data. My problem is that when I chart the data, it isn't showing up in the chart. Cell G1 (Tab 1) contains a 1 because the document was returned 1 day late. This isn't showing up on the Chart (Tab 2).
I have a spreadsheet that has two columns. Column A is a date format and column B has the number of days between both dates over 2 years analysis is =A8-A7.
However when i come to build a chart its all wrong as the dates are following a weekely format, can i adjust this to pick up only the dates that are showing on the cells in column A? also is ther ea way which teh #VALUE! doe snot show?
I made a chart to show performance above and below average for sales teams.
When team is selected with no salesperson, value should be 0.
Employee selected and will show there week by week trends above or below. Seemed like a good idea. But the zeros (team level) are being displayed as plus or minus bars which isn't right and the labels show "0".
I find the pivot table is actually showing strange values if you click in the cell even though it displays a 0.Notations positive or negative like 3.80647894157197E-16.
The underlying data is an average formula and selecting invidual criteria, I show there are no anomalies.
I'm trying to plot a chart of some sort in Excel to display 4 angles that different blood vessels branch off the aorta. Ideally I'd like to input the values of these angles which would vary from patient to patient and have them be displayed in some kind of chart. The chart I'm hoping to achieve would be cirular with the 4 angles represented by spokes which extend out all of the same length. I've attached a rough sketch to show what I'm trying to achieve and I'd be hoping to be able to change each angle in a worksheet and have the chart update to reflect.
I have a formula that looks up a chart showing scores referenced against each other as shown below. (Scaled down version) ******** ******************** ************************************************************************>Microsoft Excel - Table Template.xls___Running: 11.0 : OS = Windows Windows 2000 (F)ile (E)dit (V)iew (I)nsert (O)ptions (T)ools (D)ata (W)indow (H)elp (A)boutA1B1C1D1E1= ABCDE12006-2007Altofts JnrsCarleton JnrsEmpire ColtsHemsworth Terriers2Altofts Jnrs- 3Carleton Jnrs12-3-4-0 4Empire Colts - 5Hemsworth Terriers -Results [HtmlMaker 2.42] To see the formula in the cells just click on the cells hyperlink or click the Name box PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THIS TABLE IMAGE ON SAME PAGE! OTHEWISE, ERROR OF JavaScript OCCUR.
The problem is when the score is i.e. 12-3 the formula is only looking at 2-3. Hence this actually then shows as a defeat. The formula causing this problen is an array and shown as =SUM(IF(NOT(ISERROR(LEFT(resultsHome,FIND("-",resultsHome)-1))), --(LEFT(Results!$B3:$K3,FIND("-",Results!$B3:$K3)-1)>MID(Results!$B3:$K3,FIND("-",Results!$B3:$K3)+1,9)))) Question. How can the formula be changed to reflect scores like 12-3 to be shown as a home win............. .
I've created a simple dynamic chart using a combination of data validation and an index match match formula. Every time the user makes a choice the chart updates with the right info. However is there a way to create a choice where the user can show *all* the choices at once on the chart ?
I am having problems creating a chart off of the following data. Each of the cells which have a numerical value are v-lookuping from another sheet. It needs to remain this way as when I switch brands (through data validation), the numbers will update and the chart should as well. Right now, the chart shows these values as zero. I have done this a million times in excel 2007, but now with 2010, I keep having this problem
I'm trying to do a line chart showing two teams and their cumulative scores over the period of a game. I've attached a sample with mock data. Is it possible to change the x-series of the charts to display custom time intervals like 0 min 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, 4 min, etc? Currently the x-series only has labels for each specific time there was a change in value. I've tried to change the scale but the options that I want aren't there.
I am using a stacked Data chart with Layout #5. See attached. I calculated in a table below the % difference between the 2 months, but is there a way to display this % difference of the 2 months either in the chart or in a table (or both)? Is there a way to modify the table only? Or is there a different type of chart that can display this?
I am trying to select cells, tables and charts by just knowing their name. Thus if possible I would like to only refer to a chart by its name i.e. not know what worksheet they are on. This seems to work for named ranges of cells/tables, but not charts (I can't get my named charts to appear in the "Define Name" dialog).
I found this code that loops through charts on the activesheet and shows the names. However, I would much prefer not to have to specify the sheet or to loop through all the sheets trying to locate the one with the named chart.
Public Sub GetEmbeddedCharts() Dim myChart As ChartObject Dim myCharts As ChartObjects Set myCharts = ActiveSheet.ChartObjects For Each myChart In myCharts Debug.Print myChart.Chart.Name Next End Sub
Creating a working userform that takes data input from the user and puts it onto a spread sheet.
That data is then used to calculate a result (via the spreadsheet), and I want that result to show on the userform when the data is submitted (if that makes sense?)
I need to plot various data on top of stock charts.
This data could be irregular in date: it could be weekly, or simply random.
To plot this data by itself requires a Scatter Chart.
From what I know so far, you CANNOT DO THIS.
However, I suspect this could be done if I build a Stock Chart from scratch using a Scatter Chart.
Error bars can be used to make the tails, however, I don't know how they built the body bar which has the characteristics of a bar (border, and interior.)
But since I don't really need those two characteristics, I just need a wider error bar line that is provided in the chart edit window. I'm guess through a macro, there are wider line widths assignable.
I am looking for a creative way to display a pie chart within a data point marker of a line chart.
My database has 3 value columns, Type1, Type2 and the Total (Type1 + Type2) these are recorded per day (Date, in Column A)
I have a line chart that displays the total by date, but I want to find a way to display the percentage split of a particular day by type.
I was thinking to load the chart image into the Data point marker, but i don't think that is the best way as the data is updated daily and I would have to do it each day for a few line charts.
The other way I was thinking about was to have a generic Pie chat in the Line chart (Maybe in a corner) and the pie would update depending on way date series was selected or Mouseover'd)
the way that I am approaching it at the movement (Not the best way and by far not the coolest way. Is to have a list of all the dates in a column next to the Line chart and using some VBA, what ever date is selected in the column the pie chart displays the corresponding data. But eh challenge is that when there is alot of dates, I am going to be scrolling up and down.
I am using Excel 2010, but I cant not use the slicer's as the other users do not have 2010, they have 2007.
