View 9 RepliesI have raw data from a cyclic test that needs to be refined to generate a simple trend.
The raw data has about 1000 points to each complete cycle and im only interested in the maximum and minium values of the peaks. This would be easy but I am typically dealing with 15 cycles a second and in some instances up to 5,000,000 cycles in one test.
The amount of data is too large to be completed in one file but if done in parts I can then use a formula to reduce the number of max and min peaks chosen i.e. 1 in 100.
I was asked to make a trend graph showing activation's and deactivation's over time. My boss wanted it to be done automatically when you placed values into a simple excel sheet like the attached image (the graph would be below this).
View 14 Replies View RelatedI track inventory/sales for a very small sole proprietorship. I'm looking to track the number of items that I sell based on the text that I enter in a certain column.
Specifically, I want to have a visual chart/graph to show the percentage of each size/color of an item that I sell, as I sell it. When I enter the words "3T pink" I want the chart/graph/whatever to show another quantity of this category. As I sell a new item, I want the chart to reflect it.
The problem I'm having, is that the graphs/charts require two data sets, but I want the graph to calculate it for me! All I want to do is enter the text for specific items, and when the text occurs subsequent times, I want this reflected in the graph/chart.
It seems so much more simple in my head....basically I want a dynamic chart, not based on a static data set.
I want to make a single graph from two data sets that have individual dates.

Excel 2010 and the camera function.
I have been using it to take a picture of a graph, pasting to an alternative sheet within the same workbook, and renaming the picture by a defined name. S by selecting the names from a drop down list the picture will select various different sized graphs defined within my drop down.
What I am experiencing is when I initially do this the pic works great and resizes automatically with each selection, however the next day some of the pictures resize and some do not.
Is this a glitch within excel or am I missing a setting which will resolve this?
i was set some work related to maths to be carried out in VBA. the problem for me is im finding it very hard to understand either and so i cannot seem to work out how to complete the assignment given.

I'v got a school task about making a excel worksheet.
But we have just started and i havent gotten all the functions to work yet.
The task itself is :
Make function that tests if D9 is larger then 100 and I9 is less then 50. If true "Kontroll" if not "OK" should be written.
Also, if "Kontroll" shows up it should have a dark green "OK " should just be black

i am trying to get the following function to work
i want it to look at 2 cells, depending on the number in the second cell i want it to multiply the first sell by a specific number.
for exaple (Below) function in a3 looks at a2 sees it is a 2 and multiplies a1 by 1.09 shown in the code below

So I have a rather complicated IF, Countif, Sumproduct combo in a formula right now. As you can imagine this makes my worksheet run rather slowly. I was curious if there is any way to make this formula into a User Defined Function. The formula looks like this:

I would not be surprised if this isn't possible but thought I would try. Another possible approach would be to make this into a macro and instead of the output being "Duplicate" or "Research" just have the "Duplicate" Cells Highlighted in Red and the "Research" Celss highlighted in yellow.
Basically i have a list of data for example from B2 to B2000 for which i want to calc a standard deviation across however the number of data points in the standard deviation need to be dynamic.
For example in Cell a1 i can enter 150 it will then calc the standard div across the first 150 data points (points 1 to 150) then in the cell below calculate the next standard div.

I've got a couple of user-defined functions that I coded in via one workbook (wkb A), but would like these functions to be accessible to any workbook (wkb B...Z). How is this done so that when I start a new blank wkb I can use these user-defined functions there as well?

I have set up a formula to sum data from specific columns in multiple sheets in the same file. The simple formula had worked perfectly until I needed the data from the last sheet. In all of the other sheets the data that I need to pull is all in consecutive rows but in the last sheet the data that I need pulled and added is in every 4th row. The sheet looks like this:
All of the columns I've filled in work fine. The ones blank are the ones I am running into issues with. When I drag down the formulas excel pulls the next consecutive rows, which is perfect for the first four sheets I am summing, but for the fifth sheet (I'll ref the Test1 column) I need it to pull 'Wayne 2014'!C6 and then 'Wayne 2014'!C10 in the next row and so forth.

Is there any way in Excel 2010 to get it do what I want? (I am not sure how that one cell became outlined and I do not know how to fix it.)
I'm using Excel 2010. I have a workbook with only 1 worksheet in it and it will be sent to several people. I want that excel file to open in Full View when the end user opens it. Is this possible without any VBA codes?
