I have one shared book having different tabs from my team member.
in every tabs i got Dates written in various forms like,,,,2/12/2011, 12/2/2011, 12-2-2011 etc......
I want to get uniform date format from all the tabs at once.
I am seeking to analyse loading cycles on a beam.
I have half hourly data for five years, in two columns A: Date and B: Load in Kg. The load on the beam is not uniform over time and shows a cycle of load.
In Column C I have an AVERAGE function that returns the average load based in the 4 hour period (2 hours backward looking and 2 hours forward looking) if it is less than 50% of the maximum load.
The data in Column C returns sets of continuous vertical cells of data showing periods of low loading and empty cells where the load is greater than 50%. The sets can be as small as one cell (i.e. one hour) to a set of contiguous vertical cells for one week of low load.
My objective is to use Excel to analyse all the sets of contiguous cells in Column C to determine the time period from the first cell of each set to the last cell of that set and drop the result into another work sheet (pivot table) to further analyse these results.
I'm looking to generate correlated random unifrom numbers between 0 and 1 using the excel random number generator, rand(), and a user defined correlation matrix - without the use of a plugin. I realise there are plenty of risk plugins I could use, but was looking for something excel/vba reliant so I could distribute it without the user having to install anything.
I've tried using a cholesky matrix, but most of time it resulted in one of the numbers being 1, and higher that all the others.
I have a very large dataset (~5000 points in a 2D array) which I need to plot and fit a linear trendline to. There are 90 subjects each of which has a daily binary event checked over its lifespan. eg:

subj 2 1 1 1 0 1 0 1 0 0 0(dead)
subj 3 0 0 1 0(dead)
I simply averaged the number of events per day per subject and plotted them but near the long-lived end of the data the variability gets really high. I have normalized the lifespan for each subject such that instead of the event occurring on day 10, it occurred at 0.2 of its total lifespan (dying on day 50). Now that my data is in this format, I want to create an average for all subjects over the domain 0-1 representing birth-death.
The trouble is that now each subject's domain has different intervals between points (eg. 0.1 for subjects living 10 days and 0.006993 for those living 143 days). How to now space out the cells (somewhat) automatically so I can average the columns? My array is 90 x 150 so doing it manually is not really possible. Or, alternatively, is there a way to create a continuous average rather than a discrete one? Some sort of function that goes through each infinitely small (or even a discrete really tiny interval) point of the domain (0-1) and averages the binary y-value?
I am a novice user and not very familiar with Macros or VBA. I took a macro I found on contextures and got it to resize comments that already exist. However, I am trying to get it to also create the comment (with no content) if the comment does not already exist, and then resize it. This is what I have so far:

I'm trying to export a couple of tabs in excel to PDF format. The code below works perfectly for a single tab, but I'd like to export two tabs into a single PDF document. How to tweak the code to allow a second tab to be exported at the same time? In both cases, I'd like to export the print area of the tab.

I have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?
I have created a userform but I am having extensive problems with the date formats.
My system is set to UK and short date is set to: DD/MM/YYYY
When I used code to add the values in the userform to the spreadsheet, any that contained a date format would revert to the US format.

I want each workbook to contain one month's worth of sheets, with a sheet containing one day's appointments. I need an easy way to name each sheet tab with the date, for example "01/08/09 Tue" for the first sheet and then all the following sheets will follow on date wise ie "02/08/09 Wed".
View 12 Replies View RelatedOne of the reports I run provides me information on lengths of time. Such a field displays as |0:09:16| indicating 9 minutes and 16 seconds. However, when the report generates the excel spreadsheet it saves these cells in date/time format ([h]:mm:ss). If I were to convert this field to the number format (so I can manipulate and graph it) it displays as such |0.00643460648148148| Ideally I would be able to have the data in the field stored as |556| (556 seconds, or 9 minutes 16 seconds). I have thousands of fields that I need to manipulate where the data is stored in this format and I can not figure out how to fix it.

For some reasons, I have a combination of a few cells of date format and a few cells of general format with no order at all.
What I need is: Search in the A column, if date format leave it , if not change from general to date format.
I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet where the default number format keeps switching to the date format. I keep switching it back and it'll stay as a number format for a time, but then it'll switch back. This is also the case for any new worksheets in that one spreadsheet.
This only happens with this one file - everything else behaves according to my regional settings or to how the file had been previously formatted.
I have two columns where there are dates (e.g. 11/05/2009) in a date format; I would like to change the format to `general`; but without losing the original values, i.e. I still want to see 11/05/2009, but just in `general`format. Is it possible to create a macro that will do that? I want these values to stay in the same place, i.e. if it is in cell K10, I still want to have it there - just in other format.

I have an excel sheet full of dates in text format and want to convert them into regular format. For instance, one of the dates listed is in text as "60801". I'd like it to show in regular date format of mm/dd/yyyy, so that 60801 becomes 8/1/2006.

As you can see the CONCATENATE puts the "39569" date in A2 But the second line puts the text date as I prefer. What I would like to do is put in a formula or macro in D2 and down that will change the "Mar-08" to "3-08" so it CONCATENATEs correctly to column A. Simply: I'm trying to avoid manually inputing the text version "3-08" (or whatever M-Y) into D2 down a hundred or so rows!

I have a column in excel which gets populated in the format "2/1/1980" when copied from a different source. I want a macro to run on this column and convert this in the below format. Required format: '02-01-80 (note the ' symbol before 02 which will keep it as text)

I need this macro to run on two columns and replace them with the required format. I can do a find and replace either in the sheet or through hard coding the VBA, but as the date format keeps growing, I would need to do this via code and hence requesting the same.

I have a workbook with multiple tabs, each tab is representative of a person and their ongoing project list. What I am trying to do is to be able to pull rows from each tab identifying the persons active projects based on an assigned due date.
Details: Tabs for Tom/Susan/Phil/Jerry each person will be updating their own sheet with project completion details. Each tab has similar headers with a corresponding due date or completion date. On the master sheet I would like to pull those rows that correspond to the specific dates for all persons.
Example - give me all rows that reflect projects due on 1/21/2014.
I am trying to create a workload spread sheet for work I need to have the same looking spread sheet 365 times but also need each sheet to be dated, EG (tue,01/04/2014 through to tue,31/03/2015) I can create 365 tabs that have the same spread sheet on and I can create dates but not do both at the same time, it isn't fun doing copy and paste 365 time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to format all cells on all sheets (hidden or otherwise) as "Locked" so when the sheets are protected the user can't see the formulas. This macro individually selects every sheet in the book and applys the formatting. Is there a way to modify this code to accomplish the same thing without having it actually select every sheet? The only reason it is an issue is that after running the macro you end up on the last sheet in the book.

I have been struggling with my Excel 07 Date format. Nearly every time I perform a calculation, enter in a value etc in a spreadsheet my answer is returned as a date. So for example if I enter in a cell: = 5 - 4. I get the answer "1-Jan-1900" instead of 1. I have to manually set the formats to general or number if I want the correct format. The setting seems to be the default one and occurs for all workbooks I open. What can I do to change this.
