I have sentence in cell A1 which contain number and text. I want to extract number out of that sentence. there is one thing common in this sentence is /.
Every cell contain this sign /.
I need 6 number from left side of / and all other number of right side.
Example sentence is as below
Servicedoneon020512/4587986532testedok
what i need is 020512/4587986532 to be extracted from that sentence. Sentece lenth and right side numbers of / are not constant.
this is exactly what i am looking for also, can you please explain how i can use that code in 2007? I have attached a list of the numbers i'm working with, please can you have a look for me?
I've tried entering it ion visual basic but i keep getting:
I have the attached table of numbers and I need a formula at the end of each column to identify whether any cells in that column consecutively have numbers in them greater than zero. Ideally by a count of how many cells in the column have consecutive numbers greater than zero (so if there are three 1's in a row and then a zero and then another 2 1's I want it to count 5).Excel Help.xlsx
Im using a formula to identify new part numbers. The formula is: =IF(ISNUMBER(MATCH(A217,Existing!A:A,0)),"","NEW"). However you can clearly see from the attached that if has flagged a duplicate part number as new. Why would it do that? Check out A1368 in existing and A217 in new.
I am working on a spreadsheet in Excel '07 that will pull data from online and reformat it in a way that another program can digest. The last thing I need is for excel to recognize if there is a 6 digit number in a specific column.
This is tricky for two reasons: 1. Numbers come in three different formats, ### ###, ######, and ###.### 2. Sometimes there is also text within the cell, however I need to pull out just the 6 digits, and place them in another cell with format ### ###
I'm trying to create a list of missing numbers in a range, but I can't fiure out how to do it. The problem lies in that the range of numbers is in the middle of a larger number. ie. xxx-xx-0001-xx would be number 1, and xxx-xx-0500-xx would be number 500.
I need to scan multiple sheets containing these numbers, and produce a list of the numbers missing from that range.
Example:
Sheet1 has xxx-xx-0001-xx through xxx-xx-0009-xx, and xxx-xx-0018-xx through xxx-xx-0042-xx.
Sheet2 has xxx-xx-0053-xx through xxx-xx-0062-xx, and xxx-xx-0067-xx through xxx-xx-0072-xx.
Sheet3 needs to have a function that produces a list showing xxx-xx-0010-xx through xxx-xx-0017-xx, xxx-xx-0043-xx through xxx-xx-0052-xx, and xxx-xx-0063-xx through xxx-xx-0066-xx.
I need to be able to do this without VBA. The list doesn't necessarily have to have a different number per cell, it could even show them all on 1 cell if it's easier, but it would be more presentable if it was 1 number per cell in a row or column.
My boss gave me a project and need to be done as soon as possible. Basically, i just need to join all of database and then identify duplicates and put them in another sheet in order to investigate if there are any double payments.
Duplicates can be:
- invoices with same vendor name having same or comparable amounts - invoices with Invoice No. which match or closely match (in case we're mis-keying)
I've tried so many ways to find duplicates that fulfill the 2 conditions above, but still cannot make it done.
I have a (very) large spreadsheet which contains a column of numbers. I am trying to work out a way to identify all of the times when this column has 3600 or more consecutive zeros. Ideally, I would like it to tell me how many and the size of these periods of 3600 or more consecutive zeros, but I would settle for something as simple as just highlighting these parts.
- I have a list of 8 digit numbers in Column A sorted small to large - Some of the 8 digit numbers are duplicated. - In Column B I would like to have more of a combination of countif and listing the duplicates in order (1 for the first dup in the column, 2 for the 2nd, etc.)
Example of what I'd like to see
Column A Column B 123456781 123456782 132546841 685036541 985413561 985413562 985413563
As you can see if the number in column A is on the list one time column B would show a 1If the number is shown two times (the first time it shows up will show a 1 the second will show a 2) If the number is shown 3 times (the first time it shows up will show a 1 the second will show a 2, the third tiem would show a 3)
I need to identify repeated code with different text value. The codes in B column appears repeatedly in the list. However some codes have different text value (one time appears with public and another time appears with priv). I would like to identify those codes as 1 if they appear with different text value within the list. I highlighted one code 131775 for reference.
25106009 7735469 word text text 25106521 7735470 word text text Sales Best 15hrs 25106577 7735471 word text text Florida Drive Certificate
I need to be able to identify if a cell is text (vs. numbers) and then select all the data in that row and paste it in the first empty cell in the row above. So my data above should end up looking like this:
25106009 7735469 word text text 25106521 7735470 word text text Sales Best 15hrs 25106577 7735471 word text text Florida Drive Certificate
I am running a text comparison between customer names in 2 systems and although I can identify where they dont match I would like a bit more information as to what the differences may be:
See below sample data - 1 system may have Mr/Ms and middle initials whereas the other simply has the name is it possible to write a formula that will look at the cell and when it does not match identify the extra characters. Or if it totally doesnt match then just state incorrect.
I have a text file with rows and columns of numbers ranging from 1-4 digits that I'd like to import/copy into Excel with each number being in its own cell. But whenever I copy/try to import, Excel splits all of the 3-4 digit numbers up into single digit numbers. The text file has 10,000+ columns (each number occupies two columns so I have half of that amount in numbers) and 300+ lines.
Is the file simply too large for Excel to handle or is there a way I can do this?
In the ID column of the attached excel file whenever I convert the numbers stored as text to numbers it results in a weird transformation.
e.g. an ID of 480610141001 becomes 4.8061E+11. When I do the same process in the name column, which has similar numbers, it will give the correct result following the same process.
I have been looking through the forums and found the below code, but I have both text and numbers in the same range. I have attached an example of what I need to have converted.
A B C D E F G 23445566894 Brwn pdc aft Cat1 45687930596 $5 45687930596 Gld wdget adi Cat2 23445566894 $6
In the example above, I would like to do a vlookup in column C that matches the digits in column A to those in column F, with the output being the corresponding value in column G. I believe it involves the left function but not sure how to really use it here.
I'm working on a spreadsheet with about 400 rows and 10 columns. All the numbers in the columns are formatted as text, which doesn't allow me to use AutoSum. I have selected the cells and formatted them as number with no decimals, but AutoSum still doesn't work because the formatting hasn't changed and they're still formatted as text. I know if I double click each cell, the cell changes the format from text to number, but that will take a lot of time to change 400 cells in each of the 10 columns. What can I do to quickly reformat the cells from text to number?
I am looking for a VBA to sort rows which include actual numbers and text representing decomposed CTQs (or procedures in IT development)
Code:
Col A Col B 1Billing Accuracy 2Billing Time 3Credit Check Accuracy 4Credit Check Time 2.1Bill preparation
[Code]....
This is the order in which the data is copied and saved from worksheets in which they are developed. Note that 3 rows (8.1.2.1 through 8.1.2.3) are below 8.1.3 (because the three come from Worksheet 8.1.2 which came after worksheet 8.1). The first four rows came from a Top Level Worksheet. I would like to see them intermixed but in proper order.
I need to compare two colums by number decription for example m344 in one column and fsh344-1 in another. All I want to match is 344. In column a I want to indcate the match by placing an X by each match. View my attachment for reference. I don't know if it makes a difference but the columns are centered in my original spreadsheet.
I'm looking for the VBA command for this function. I tried just recording a macro in where I perform the task but it didn't record anything. Tried it several times even.
See attached file. A colleague is downloading rows of data from a website which contains a number field Excel is currently treating as Text after being pasted in. My spreadsheet includes just a sample of the many rows of data however as you can see the VALUE function refuses to convert these text values to numbers. How these might be converted and why the VALUE function refuses to work in this case?
I paste new data into a sheet of a monthly report I prepare. For this sheet, the # of data rows change (and is unpredictable) every month. I need the value inside a specific cell that dynamcially moves up and down based on the # of rows for that month (because it's below the rows of data).
So I made a formula to identify the exact cell # every month.
Example:
This month the exact cell is F255 in the "Refi" sheet.
So my formula in the "Summary" sheet cell A1 first finds the cell row # only (255) and since it's always column F, in B1 I have
VB: ="F" & (A1)
This outputs "F255" in B1, successfully identifying the target cell.
Now how do I write a formula in C1 to grab the value from whatever cell is named in B1. (For this month, the value in cell F255 from the "Refi" sheet)
I am looking for a formula to grab only the numbers withing a cell that has text in it i.e (John Peters142 lp) or (Sally Jones54) or (Terry Cram310 jkb) sometimes there will be text after the number and sometimes not, the format is as shown with no space between name and number but a space after the number.
