View 2 RepliesI've created a userform that has one ComboBox (ComboBox1) and two text fields. I am trying to get the userform to return information to my worksheet in the same row as the name that is displayed in the ComboBox. This is my VBA code.
Private Sub Cmdpayment_Click()
Dim iRow As Long
Dim ws As Worksheet
Set ws = Sheet4
iRow = Cells. Find(What:=Me.ComboBox1.Value, After:=C5, LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt _
:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:= _
False, SearchFormat:=False).Activate
ws.Cells(iRow, 12).Value = Me.txtpdate.Value
ws.Cells(iRow, 13).Value = Me.txtpayment.Value
Me.txtpdate.Value = ""
Me.txtpayment.Value = ""
End Sub
I have textbox1, which is updated with a date and time value formated as DD:MM:YY HH:MM and textbox2 value hich is also updated as DD:MM:YY HH:MM. I want textbox3 to deduct 2 from 1 but it won't do it I have tried:

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a range of some 2,000 plus cells that are various numbers in them only. What I want to be able to apply is a macro that will look at the number in a cell and if the result is between a set range, produce a text, eg.
If the number is between 0 - 999 then insert text [url] this is where you go'.
If the number is between 1000 - 1999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
If the number is between 2000 - 2999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
etc.
I have up to 11 ranges of numbers to insert (up to 10000 - 19999).
So the text is the result of the formula.
I want to be able to return a text string of either Trainee 1 or Trainee 2, (or default to other text) based on codes that are 4 digits (DD01, KKB1, KKB2, KKC2, GG03, etc, where starting with K and ending with 1 or 2 is the criteria for TR 1 or TR 2 . There are two many KK** items to list them all in an If statement and I can't seem to use a wildcard.
=IF (right(c1,1) = "1", "Trainee 1", B1)
gets me halfway there I think but of course doesn`t pick up Trainee 2 and also returns Trainee 1 when it sees DD01.
I am looking for a formula to return the column number of the array when a specific text is found, in this case the text is "Yes"
The Array will only ever be 5 cells beside each other in a row
for example, M4:Q4, will be as follows - No No No Yes No
I want a formula to look at these 5 cells and return the number 4 as that is where the "Yes" value is
I have two columns in a spreadsheet that I want to use an IF function with. In the first column, I want a pick list containing 5 text options. Depending on which option is chosen, I want a number to auto-populate in the second column.
The numbers are important, because I want to repeat this pair of cells with slightly different text values in the second pair, and then to have a column that multiplies the two resulting numbers and conditional formats the result.
on one sheet we have a summary of the main list, which includes totals of money recieved, totals of all the different sources (ie, where they heard about us from), the totals of the frequencies they pay (ie, how many donate monthly, quarterly...) ... etc. on the next sheet we have the "main" list of donors, their IDs, amounts, frequency, source ...
the totals on the first sheet are updated manually, but i want to change that as there are a great number of errors.
I am just starting to get my feet a little damp with VBA and I am trying to make a macro that will act whenever any text is entered in any cell within a 3x3 square. Whenever any text is entered in any of those cells I would like it to enter a text ( "X" ) in a cell which is specified by a cell in the spreadsheet (this cell will output which cell the macro should write the text in in this format "A:1" or "C:3"). How can I make the program act only in reaction to the user entering thier text, and also, how can I get the macro to read A:1 and enter the text into that specific cell? Any help would be so awesome, the book I have is really difficult to navigate.

I am in need of VBA code so that I can fill out an input form generated by someone elses macro input box. (I am the user, not the one developing the input box).
I am working to streamline a whole cluster of macros and this input box is currently my bottleneck. When the input box pops up, instead of me manually typing, I want to autofill the space with "104" and then click 'ok' uisng VBA.
I can not modify the actual VBA that created the input box (ie make 104 the default) because other users need the box to be blank.
find out how a developer would change the original vba code, not how a user can interact with an input box by using vba.
I have the following text
BKG 4.0 CL G 3210x2550 LS 28 PKGL NE
BKG 6.0 CL G 3210x2250 LS 25 PKGL NE
FAB 6.0 AB G 3300x2440 LS 16
FOP 4.0 BZ G 3210x2250 LS 28
FWH10.0 WH L 3210x2550 LS 9
I need a formula which searches within the text to find "LS" and then to return the number after it, this would be either 1 or two digits.
I am thinking if there was a forma that searched for "LS " (Note the space) and then returned the next two digits from the left from the found search ("LS ". I have attached a spreadsheet.
Below, both inputbox cases appear to work fine. If you enter an incorrect input on your first attempt it will offer you the option to return you to an inputbox.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to have a user enter a First Name into the first Input Box and a Last Name into the second Input Box.
Within the code, I would like both answers to be returned to cell A1.
For example: A1 would read as Doe, James or James Doe (any variation is fine, as long as its one value in A1).
Sub Name()
y = InputBox("Enter First Name", "Information")
If y = "" Then
MsgBox "You must enter", 16, "Message"
Else
x = InputBox("Enter Last Name", "Information")
If x = "" Then
MsgBox "You must enter", 16, "Message"
Else
Range("A1") = y & & x
End If
End If
End Sub
For example i input in cell A1 April 1, 2014 in cell A2 it must put Tuesday.

I'm trying to get a function to read in a string, and return a value based on the string value.
Public Function value(ItemType As String) As Integer
If ItemType = " Upper" Then
value = 40

ElseIf ItemType = "Lower" Then

End Function
When i tried using it at the Cell level, it keep giving error i.e. Invalid Name Error
I want to return the data from a list in a cell on worksheet1 if I input a variable on worksheet2. I need to avoid VBA and pivot tables.
Example, if I put "Expense" in the input cell on worksheet2, I want to return a list of each row that has "Expense" in it on worksheet1:
Worksheet 1 (ColumnA/ColumnB):
Revenue/45,000
Expense/20,000
Asset/43,000
Liability/21,000
Revenue/6,000
Expense/9,000
Expense/11,000
Liability/13,000
Worksheet 2 required output (no row gaps or spaces):
Input cell "Expense" - in A1
List required (A3:B5):
Expense/20,000
Expense/9,000
Expense/11,000

Items in Column A1 are calculated by (B2/4+5)*1.4 Items located under the columns 2000, 3000, 4000, etc... 10,000 are calculated by taking the top number, eg 2000/(A1 cell value)+the column B number. 2000/7+0 = 286 (rounded numbers)
I need to find an way to look up for x number (2000,3000,4000, etc...) find the smallest number in that column and then return the value in column A1.

Column 'o' Number ... Column 'p' Course name
1: A. B. C.
2: J. K. L.

How to create a formula in cell M2 that looks at the second row of numbers (0 and 500s) and tells me the rightmost value that is greater than zero. In this example it would return 12.
Second Question: Is there a way to return any counted value, for example the second-to-last number that is over 0?
I need this for a tracking sheet of scores. For example, 1 gets 100 points, 2 gets 90 points, 3 gets 80 points, etc. I need to set it up for 10 places. I have no idea and have fiddled with it for two hours now. I need to be able to put a 1 in the cell and 100 appears after I hit enter, etc.
