Return Cell Data From List When Variable Input In Second Worksheet

I want to return the data from a list in a cell on worksheet1 if I input a variable on worksheet2. I need to avoid VBA and pivot tables.

Example, if I put "Expense" in the input cell on worksheet2, I want to return a list of each row that has "Expense" in it on worksheet1:

Worksheet 1 (ColumnA/ColumnB):


Worksheet 2 required output (no row gaps or spaces):

Input cell "Expense" - in A1

List required (A3:B5):

Using A Cell On Another Worksheet As Input For Data Validation

Situation: I have an Excel file with multiple worksheets. Each of these worksheets contain the same rules for data validation in a certain column (G).

Problem: If I want to add an item to the data validation lists I have to edit every single worksheet. I've tried making a seperate worksheet containing data validation items and using that as the source for the data validation rule, but Excel doesn't allow me to switch worksheets while defining the source.

In other words, I want to manage my data validation rules of multiple columns in multiple worksheets in one central location.

This is probably far easier then I am making it but I need to take the information that is in a textbox created through the control toolbox and copy and paste that information into a cell on different tab in the workbook. I have tried the infamous google and haven't been able to find much. The excel books that I have don't really touch on the control toolbox functions.

I have create an excel formula that I need to input data daily.

Every day, I need to insert a line and input my new data.

The problem is that when I insert a line. Most of my variable will change according except C60:D154

As you can see below

V159 change to V160 = This is good

C60:D154 do not change accordingly. How can I make it change accordingly ?? Why it is not changing when I insert a line ?

I am attempting to have a user enter a First Name into the first Input Box and a Last Name into the second Input Box.

Within the code, I would like both answers to be returned to cell A1.

Barcode Input To Match Cell And Return Value Of Another Cell

I get a text file daily for routed deliveries containing a barcode, name, address and phone number that I convert into csv and then upload it into a route optimization software. after optimization is complete it has assigned packages to drivers and I export it to excel and print. My sorters are having a difficult time reading the addresses on the packages and assigning them to the proper driver, so I am trying to come up with a way.

My idea is that I can import the barcode as a custom field into the route optimizer and then when I export it, that barcode field will still be associated to that order. I want to scan the barcodes of the package into column C which will reference all of the barcodes in B and when it finds the match, it will return the value in A, the driver assigned to that particular package. This way my sorter will just have to scan the packages and throw it into the proper bag for the driver instead of having to visually scan the printed manifest to match.

I am currently working on a project for college. I have downloaded an example from a website and want help editing some vb code so I can use it in my project.

I have attached the example. As you see there is an input worksheet and the record of what you have already entered. The vb code takes some information from the system such as time and date and the user. All I want it to do is that it takes data from 5 cells I have.

I am no vb expert but I have tried and failed.

Getting Info From A List And Input Then Transferring Data

a user inputs the drawing number and revision in a box on the first sheet in the workbook. Once that is done, the user then selects the type of drawing from the drop-down menu, once "Submit" is clicked it takes that info and puts the information in the next available cell for the other worksheets (if that worksheet calls out for that certain part).

I've been having trouble trying to figure out how to be able to accomplish this task.

If you have any ideas, that'd be great.

I've attached a basic worksheet I drew up to give you a better idea of what I'm looking to do.

Forgot to mention that there are totals involved! The "destination" worksheets have set totals for each drawing type, so what also has to be taken into consideration is that the specific drawing needs to have the correct total beside it. I created a "Totals" worksheet to show what drawings are what totals for each cell. Realizing this may always change or be updated, I created a seperate worksheet to pull all the numbers off of. I thought this might be easier rather than going in and changing the coding each time.

I am creating a spreadsheet where the user enters food they have eaten that day. The way this is done at the moment is with validated list boxes, one depending on the other using the indirect function. I want to be able to make this into a user input form. Is there a way of adding these validations from the spreadsheet, to an input form.
I want the input form to have an input for the day, food group, food item, and quantity of the food. The food item needs to depend on the food group.

Want to pull data into ANOTHER WORKSHEET from this one wherein the format will be :

Indirectly want Excel to directly convert the data by input and categorize into Month in another worksheet (will be linked and would be great if according to the date it could calculate the week as well) if somebody inputs defects by date it should automatically cumulate into respective month.

I am trying to return the SUM of a variable cell across multiple worksheets... This 3D formula works

=SUM('March 2012:December 2013'!E27)

I wanted the formula on the next row to ref F27 then G27 etc... (which I can't just drag down) so thought I'd try to "assemble" the formula I wanted using the INDIRECT function...

I tried this formula which doesn't seem to work...


NOTE: the script in the INDIRECT brackets returns the text string... 'March 2012:December 2013'!E27

Can INDIRECT not handle multisheet references?

I am trying to find the largest value, second largest, and third largest value for a column of numbers then return a content value for the adjacent column that contains the name for which each. The problem I am running into is when the second highest has the same value as the highest and also when the third value is zero (n=meaning there are only non-zero numbers for the column). I am using these formulas currently whic work when the numbers are not the same and I have atleast 3 non-zero numbers but I need to modify in order to account for the problem stated above...

I run a machine that scans parts and is able to output the scans into Excel. Each part scanned creates a new sheet, and the number of sheets is variable as the number of parts scanned depends on the size of the lot. Also, since each part scanned is going to have a different number of features, the information being output on each sheet will be variable as well.

I am trying to figure out how to write a macro that will find the first feature, find the values for that feature I am looking for, output a max and min into a final sheet, and repeat for each feature, and for each sheet. I hope this is clear.

I have a macro on a button click that copies and pastes the template worksheet into the same workbook on a dialy basis, i would like to rename the "template" copied file to a unique worksheet name based on a date ie 31_3 (31st march) and so on, the cell that provides the date changes on a daily basis to the next one, however when the script runs it uses the original macro recording date rather than the new one!, the changable cell is AS2.

Index Function - Data Identified Based On A List Of Account Numbers And Return This Data To A New Sheet

I have a multiple column spreadsheet (Call it- "Money") whereby I need the data identified based on a list of account numbers and return this data to a new sheet.

In "Money" I have:

IE; columns B, C respectively have cust #A100 & 20.00
columns E, F respectively have cust #B100 & 40.00
columns G,H respectively have cust #C100 & 60.00

(above for illustration-there are 100 lines of data in these columns with varied account numbers and respective dollars)

So what I have now is a new sheet I have named "Control". I have listed all my account numbers like A100,B100 etc. in column A. These are the account numbers for ident purposes.

I need the data entered in "Money" identified by those columns B,E,G with respective amounts from C,F,H and based on the list I have in "Control" whereby in "Control" if A100 is listed in column A then the figure to be returned in column B is all the data bits found in all columns C,F,H from the entire sheet "Money". Tough to explain but ie below....

I am looking for a way to refererence the text of another cell, not the formula that it contains.

I have a workbok that has 5 worksheets. On the first worksheet, a certain cell (lets say A1 for simplicty) uses the function: UPPER(MID(CELL("filename"),( FIND("]",CELL("filename"))+1),50))
to retrieve the title of the worksheet. (ie, A1 now serves as a title cell, matching the name of the worksheet).

My problem is, on the following four worksheets, I also want A1 to reflect the contents of the first worksheet's A1. I've tried using =Worksheet!A1, and =CELL("contents", Worksheet1!A1), and so forth, but my problem is, it reflects the formula of A1, not the returned value of the formula (the title). Initially, it works, but if I recalculate the cells on the four worksheets, it changes them all to the title of the current worksheet, not the first worksheet.

Is there a formula that I can use to retrieve the TEXT and not the formula?

I have a worksheet named "ABC". In row 4 of this worksheet, each cell from G to BG is numbered from 1 onwards and each cell has a unique number. I would like to have a macro ask the user through a pop-up question box which column data should be calculated in. For example, if the user types "1" in the question box, the macro will go to column G which has "1" in cell G4 and will select G5 the cell just below the column the user defined and calculate the formula.
