We have 6 words we need to add to a sheet, each cell needs to be a different colour on the basis of the word.
I was hoping to use CF as the sheet needs to be locked against people editng cells and the like.
My question is, could a conditional format say if "service" colour blue, if "parc" colour green.
If this is possible this would allow me to use 6 different colours.
I have a Sheet ( Named "Summary" for Example ) of about 4,000 Rows that has a LOT of Conditional Formatting.
I Added Another 100 Rows this Morning and when I Tried Saving it a Message Saying that Not All the Formatting for the New Data that had Been Added had Been Saved. Is there a Macro or Something I can Run that will Make the Conditionally Formatted Cells Stay the Colour that they are but Delete the Conditional Formatting Part of it Achieved Using "Format" & "Conditional Format" from the Menu Please.
Ideally I would like to be Able to Enter the Number of Rows ( From Row ? to Row ? ) that I want this to Apply to.
is there any way to set the conditional format to the colour of a particular cell if the condition is met?

I am needing to format a spreadsheet using 2003 which only allows 3 conditional formats, but I have 4 conditions.
I need to highlight the row if column W has a
G - green (colorindex = 35)
R - red (colorindex = 3)
Y - yellow (colorindex = 36)
O - orange (colorindex = 44)

I have used Formula to ID cells containing a formula to flag cells red with conditional formatting in a list that do not have formula.
I need a single cell to change colour if any of the cells in the list do not have a formula. e.g. the subtotal in the top row could go red so the user can scroll down to find individual red cells.
Is there a way to count the red cells without formula in the list - Conditionally formatted cells are hard to count. I don't want to use a vba script to do it as the user probably won't run it and auto run slow calculations down.
Is there an array formula that can return true or false if not(CellHasFormula) is true anywhere in the list?

A1:A6 have numeric values 1 to 6.
I want the conditional format values to change Based on the value in Cell B2.
If the value in B2 is "old", then I want these conditional format conditions for A1:A6. Numbers between 1-2=green text, 3-4=orange text and 5-6=red text.
IF the value in B2 is "new" then I want the conditional format conditions in A1:A6 to change so 1=black text, 2-3=green text, 4-5=orange text and 6=red text.
I know how to do multiple conditional formats but i have no clue how to change multiple conditions based on another cells value.

I would also like the cells A4 to P4 to change colour when a quote goes to become an order an we enter data into J4 to P4 again the same thing to happen in subsequent lines as data is entered in the relevant line.
Basically I want a quote of 10 days or more to show as a different colour so that an employee can chase the quote. Once the quote become a firm order I want the cells to become a different colour again.

I need to colour code the whole row based on the value in the cells; if there were four conditions, I could do this with conditional formatting, but with five (with white as the fifth condition), I need to look at VBA.
However, I'm having difficulty colouring the whole row; how do I do this?
e.g. what I need to do is:
If O2 = "1 PO in"; Select A2:T2; Colour green

I am working on yearly budgets/balances, and where the total spend against a budget has gone over the budgeted amount I want my formula to format the text red.
Example

The formula is also doing a sum of budget minus spend, so if the result is below zero the text needs to be red basically.
Im trying to create a stock database based on a colour traffic light system. I have 2 set columns, the first is 'recommended stock' the second is 'actual stock'
When you paste in your requirements into the 3rd column it subtracts it from the acutal stock which tells you how much your recommended stock is short by.
What ive got as well is any stock above 1+ shows up in green (this needs changing - see below), anything below 0 shows up in red. What im struggling with is i want a rule that reads the recommended stock level, then flags it up yellow when the actual stock levels drop to 10% of full stock.

I am trying to colour a whole row of data (in columns A through to AA) based on the numeric entry in column AB. The numeric entry is either 1, 2 or 3. I reckoned I needed to use the IF function, but as writing formula is not my strong point I am struggling to enter the correct data! The first row of data I wish to use is 3. I have a textbox in an Excel form and wish the background and/or text font colour to be conditional i.e. if cell T45 > T41 then colour is yellow otherwise red.
I need a formula which will, alike conditional formatting, change the colour of a cell based on date or another cell.
For Example, If I was to enter a value of today's date it would be green up to a 3 month period, after 3 months it turns to amber and after 6 months red.

I want to change the colour in a cell depending on the sum of two other cells.
ie
A3=1,B3=1
A4=2,B4=1
A5=1,B5=0
A6=2,B6=4
So i want if
A3+B3>2 THEN C3 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A4+B4>2 THEN C4 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A5+B5>2 THEN C5 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
A6+B6>2 THEN C6 TO HAVE GREEN COLOUR
SO IN THE END ONLY C4 AND C6 WILL HAVE GREEN COLOUR.

I'm trying to set a conditional formatting to do the following:
If A1 is greater than 1, A2 will change its background colour to green. So the format needs to be in A2.
Basically in A1 is a page number that we have reconciled our bank statement to (labelled as "64" or "65" and so on), A2 has the end of statement amount.
Every month end we do a bank rec, the green cell is a marker to show what point we reconciled up to previous month.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a spread sheet with various tick boxes, that when ticked calculate an accumulative percentage in a cell. This cell is the basis of my graph. e.g. if the cell displays 80% - the chart with show 80% - simple.
however, I want to write a vba code that changes the fill colour of the chart depending on the percentage.
i.e. if the percentage data = 0-49% I wish the chart to display as red. 50-69% - yellow and 70%+ = green.
I have some code below which looks at values added between a set range of cells. This works OK.
My problem is when i have to change the cell as it removes the background colour already set to certain columns ie Columns I, J, P, Q, W, X, AD, AE (these are coloured a light green).
The other cells in the range have no colour and so the code below works with no problem.
I am using a bar graph and would like conditional formatting for a series collection. So if the series collection is greater than 30%, the single entry (not the whole series) would turn red. I have attached an image of what I currently have. There is a data validation list at the top which tells the graph what series to use, so the data is always changing.
I hope this all makes sense. Basically, if an entry is above 30%, I want the single entry in the series to turn red.
I am trying to setup a monthly calendar.
What I want to do is have it so that if you type "apples I want some", the cell changes colour to green, and also the apples doesnt appear in the cell. So when you press enter, all you will see is a green cell that says "I want some"

In the xls for each step I have 2 raws-planned and actual. Step planned duration is populated manually over the weeks.Before that row we have another reflecting the actual step status per week
I would like to find a way how cell reflecting the actual status of a step can be automatically populated (coulored) based on the colour/value of activities that are planned for that week and for that step.Activities are listed below the step and again have planned and actual row.
The rule should be : if for a week we have several activities all of them should be finished in order to have step stataus auto populated as green. If a single activity planned for that week is not done-then weekly step status should be red.
The activities for each step are grouped below the step. It seems that one of the difficult part in that request would be how formula will understand where starts and finishes the activities that belong to one step. To get that happen I placed a column showing step and another column where we activity.
