multiple search match and replace content in a different column so for example

new workbook (look up table)
sku
search1
search2

so something like where you compare two tables and find and replace based on another cell that matches in my sku.. more details would be if the table column aren't exactly matching but the column header and the row header would match and fill or replace in the correct/corresponding cell is there a macro or vba to do this job in excel?

I have a file consisting of two columns, called, "bom ref" and "material"
I need to show the data as indicated in the file, headed required format required.

In effect where I have a 0, that is the material I need to show for every row with a bom ref. of 1,2 or 3, down as far as the next 0 but not including the 0, when I reach the next 0, the material is a new letter, and that letter needs to repeat down as far as the next 0, but not including the 0 and so on.

Adding Multiple Row Contents Based On The Content Of A Single Cell

Been trying to work this one out and have ended up banging my head against the wall.

Basically I have a spreadsheet, in the first column is the person's name, in the secon which team they are in and following this a cell for each day of the month with their availability.

The team name is a selection from a list, the availability is 1-6 (different levels of availability)

I'm trying to do subtotals at the bottom for each separate team, so the very last row each of the cells for each is added up:

Name Team 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th etc.
Mr X ___1st___1______2__1
Mr Y ___2nd_______2________5__5__5
Mr Z ___1st___1____________3__3__3

Total 1st: 2 2 1 3 3 3
Total 2nd: 2 5 5 5

So basically the formula in the last row goes along the lines of:

Add each cell in the column IF the team name = 1st

I have made a dynamic calculator which will calculate the total sale based on 3 criteria in 3 different cells as follows:-

I would like to derive the sales qty in cell C5 if all the 3 conditions in the range B2:B4 is true.

In this case the sales qty for Style-Colour-MRP combination(9103-PINK-399) should be 6.

I am unable to figure out with the formula for the same....

Change Content Of One Cell Based On Content Of Another

Formula/macro/etc that would enable me to have content of a cell changed based on the content of another cell in the same row.

Example: cell in column D says "PSA" - so I would need the cell in column H for that same row to read "Radio"

I would need an entire sheet scanned to review for these occurrences and make the appropriate changes. I also would need the formula to be inclusive enough to scan for variations in column D cell content (PSA 1, PSA 2, etc).

Find, Replace With And Then Replace Adjacent Cell

I am trying to create a macro where it finds a a certain word in a column for example C. What i want it to do is find anything that says FWD_EUR and then replace that cell (e.g C2) with CASH_EUR_FWD and after it has done that it replaces the adjacent cell (e.g. D2) with EUR_FWD. I then want this to do the same with FWD_USD to CASH_USD_FWD and adjacent cell to USD_FWD.

Add Cell Content Into Formula Command In Another Cell For Multiple Files Search

How to determine the correct formula for this requirement?

Assuming I have 2 individual excel files and an index excel file (in reality, there are more than hundreds of file). For index excel, once the user enter part number (eg. 1 or 2), the excel will look for the part number excel file and determine vlookup function.

The only problem I have here is I can not make the index file automatically add the part number shown on most left column into the required formula (replace the part number file section).

I tried use the indirect function but this require each file to be opened, which is not possible for actual use. I am looking for a function that can work in closed worksheet.

I am currently trying to create a spreadsheet whereby if I enter certain text in a cell in Column A on worksheet 1 that correlates with text in a cell in Column A on Worksheet 2, then the description in Column B in Worksheet 2 is entered into Column B on worksheet 1.

For example, if worksheet 2 has the following:

Column A Column B
XXXX PRODUCT 1
YYYY PRODUCT 2

and I enter XXXX in column A on worksheet 1, I want Column B on worksheet 1 to automatically enter PRODUCT 1.

This requires me to tab and delete through the sheet before starting the next entry and I am wondering if there is some way to auto clear the unlocked cells based on a single entry IE when we entered new data in the 1st field this would clear the unlocked cells and make them ready for new data?

I have a cell A1 in sheet2 linked cell A1 in sheet1 (simply A1='sheet1'!A1). A1 in sheet1 is a data validation drop down menu.

I want to clear the content of A2 in sheet 2 everytime the content of A1 in sheet2 changes/is updated. That is everytime the value of A1 in sheet1 is changed using the drop down menu.

I tried using a Worksheet_Change event macro (which I do not fully understand) but it won't work with a cell that updates from a calculation. It also doesn't work if triggered from a cell from another worksheet (I tried linking it to cell A1 on sheet1 in this case).

Change Cell Color Based On Cell Content

I have a chart full of different names which I need to separate them by color when a specific entry is found in a Cell. For example the list has the store name "ZELLERS" + its branch number. (ex. ZELLERS #276 PL or ZELLERS #295 SL and so on). I would like to modify the below code so that It only check for the name ZELLERS and not the branch number. If it finds ZELLERS in any cell In the Range of C1:C500 then color it Red.

Below Code does that but I have to write the exact name as it appears in the cell otherwise it wont find it for me. Is there any way to resolve the issue? I am not an Excel Programmer but Only an Excel user.

Find Part Of Text Within Cell And Replace From Another Cell

I need to find the "x" in range C2:C44 and replace it with a value (variable) specified in cell I2

The catch is that I then need to be ablt to change that character when I2 changes.

Coloum C
*VER
*T’x’STATUS
*ON
*OFF
*T’x’BANDS

EG

I2 - Variable = B
*T’x’STATUS will become *T’B’STATUS

I2 - Variable = A
*T’x’STATUS will become *T’A’STATUS

But " *OFF " should not change.

I can change *T’x’STATUS to *T’B’STATUS but then I can change *T’B’STATUS to *T’A’STATUS

Please see attached example file as it shows it better than I can explain it.

I am trying to create a formula that will compute a variance between the numeric value in a given cell with the value in one of 3 other cells depending on the condition of the 1st cell. Example: If the Value in cell F4 has a condition defined as "PMR" in cell C4, subtract the value in cell F19 from F4. If the condition is defined as "DBR" in cell C4, subtract the value in F20 from F4. And if the condition is "OTH", subtarct the value in F21 from F4.

I have tried to these through formulas without success but i think i need VBA also which i am not very experienced.

I want to paste a list in the "InsertList" sheet. This list will only contain the word "Correct" or "False". From then on i need a way to search for the word "Correct" or "False" in the columnS P,Q,R,S,T,U,V.

e.g. If in the column "P" on the "InsertList" sheet the word "Correct" is found, i need that entire row from A to V to be copied onto it's destination, in this case "sheet1".

If the word "Correct" is found on the column "Q" on the "InsertList" sheet, the rows from A to V need to be copied in the Sheet2. And so on..

Find Value & Return Offset Cell Content

I would like to be able to find all cells in row 2 that are "greater than 0". Then I would like to return the coresponding job number in row 4. I need to create a list of each job with the number of hous spent on that job next to it. I may have 30 different jobs but only 5 jobs that have hours for the specific week.

How I attemted to solve this is to create a table that listed all the hours from the largest number in row 2 to the smallest. Then I found the job number corresponding to that number of hours. The problem with this meathod is that if two jobs have the same amount of hours then the first job number is returned for both values that are the same. See attached example.

Replace Cell Contents Based On Matching Data In Another Cell (On Another Sheet)?

I am working with a spreadsheet that has our user data; User(First) Name, User(Last) name, Computer Name, MAC address, Phone Number, Seating Position and Network Port Number.

I have let this get horribly out of sync, moved computers around, and moved them while the MAC address column was hidden, As a result, I have a bunch of users listed as being at the wrong computer. I have a second spreadsheet I generated that gives me the logged in user for about 2/3 of my computers, with the computer name(Just 2 columns, 'A' and 'B'. I would like to have Excel match the computer name and then overwrite the user name. For example, if the first computer in my correct user list is DELL-99945ty2, and the user name is "Jimbo Jones", I would like it to search the first Excel doc(The one with all of the user data), and replace the user name with "Jimbo Jones". Is this simple and straightforward?

In my main spreadsheet, the user name is in column B and the computer name is in column G, So I want to use the values from Column B in my second document to find its match in Column G of the first spreadsheet, and then replace the data in Column B with Column A in the first spreadsheet.

I’d like to create a macro which offsets a letter “x”, 10 columns to the right everywhere that name appears within the range. I have a file that I import into excel and append to the end of the last free position, However my totals are slightly out when compared to the main system.

I have found the reason why, they randomly slips in a Credit or credits.

So I have the scenario column P has a txt field and the majority of the time it has SI (Invoice) however when they issue a credit the txt becomes SC.

The annoying bit is that Column L has a value but it is not a negative number i.e. 75 where it should be -75

I can do an iF then and find the SC or SC's and I can place some text in Column L but I would like to be able to take the value in L and make it a negative number.

Message Box Based On Cell Content And Day?

I am working on a spread sheet for work were we have to test certain items on certain days, e.g. one item needs to be tested every Tuesday & Thursday, when the test is completed you click on a drop down box and click on completed or in progress.

What I would like are a couple of things to happen as follows:

A message box would pop up when you open the file to inform the employee that the test is due today only on Tuesday & Thursday if not completed or in progress from the drop down box. Once you select completed or in progress from the drop down box the message box no longer appears. Every Tuesday & Thursday when it's first open it deletes the cell content, thus triggering the message box test is due today, and once completed or in progress it no longer appears until next Tuesday or Thursday.

The spread sheet is on shared drive and used by several users, let's just say cell A1 is the cell I have the drop down box

I have a drop down list made from the Forms toolbar with a list of items: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I have set it with a linked cell, so when you choose, say 3, from the dropdown, 3 appears in B10.

I was hoping to add a 'Go' button, which would run another macro depending on what is in B10, i.e. so if 3 was chosen, then you press 'Go', Macro3 would be run.

So I have 5 macros called Macro1 - Macro5, and I need some code for the 'Go' button which will run the right macro depending on what number is in cell B10.

As part of a macro i do a find and replace on a range cells that replaces "/1" with nothing (""). Therefore 2/1 becomes 2, what i don't want though is if the de-nominator includes a 1 but not only 1 to keep the whole of the de-nominator, say 8/11 does not want to become 8/1.
