View 1 RepliesI have been using some code which will open a blank email from a textbox with the appropriate email address in it with a single mouse click. Now I am trying to open a website in the same manner. See code the textbox code below:
Private Sub txtWeb_Enter()
Dim wLink As String
wLink = txtWeb.Value
On Error Goto err_Handler
ActiveWorkbook.FollowHyperlink Address:=wLink, NewWindow:=True
Unload Me
Exit Sub
err_Handler:
MsgBox "Cannot connect to " & wLink
End Sub
This code successfully opens Internet explorer, and opens the appropriate url.
But I want Mozilla to be the web browser.
I am using the below code to login to a website from Excel when I close a userform.
What I now need is a way to check if the website is already open to prevent the code from running and I also would like to navigate to another page on the website once its logged in. The web address of the other page is:
[URL]
Sub LogInToRoyalMail()
Const cURL = "http://www.XXXXX.co.uk/" 'Enter the web address here
Const cUsername = "XXXXXX" 'Enter your user name here
Const cPassword = "XXXXXX" 'Enter your Password here
[Code].....
I have 1000 urls to view everyday and identify type of website. Everyday i have to copy that url from excel and paste in browser which consume lot lot time for me. Is it possible to create vba in excel so when i select or move on that url cell (not to click on any click button) url get open in excel only.
This will reduce my work 80%.

I'm trying to open a web link from my excel sheet in Mozilla firefox. But each time I try to open the link it opens in Internet explorer eventhough I've set mozilla as my default browser.
How could I write a code that would open the link in mozilla firefox.
Need a way to open a web page in VBA without using a function?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am aware that what I am hoping to do may well be impossible because it is possibly application-dependent.
Anyway, I wanted a piece of code that would allow me to open a default browser window from an Excel Macro.
Google turned up the following solution from here [URL] .....
[Code] .....
This seems to work just fine.
What I want to do now, however, is something like this:
[Code] ....
Is it even possible to write the two hypothetical functions described above?
In addition, I notice that they example given in the link that I posted also suggests ActiveWorkbook.FollowHyperlink. This seems to work just as well, without needing the ShellExecute prototype. Is there any way that I can get a "handle" for the window that was opened with FollowHyperlink and re-focus on that window?
I have a spread sheet that I have written that has 2 html links in it. The links work, but they only open in one browser tab. How do I get them to open in different tabs? Opening in two different browser sessions would be acceptable too. I have Excel 2007 and IE 9 but the users may have different versions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Excel sheet with about 1,000 rows. Each row has an origin and destination column. Now I need a code that opens a specific website and goes to a specific tab and then search for the origin and destination fields queries. The code then takes each row and place them in the search query. The result from each row can result a valid connection between an origin and a destination OR no connection exists. So simply if connection is successful, the code simply returns "yes" otherwise "no".
I can open the website from Excel, but what I need to click on specific tab where I do my searches. One of the problems I am facing is that when I try to click on the tab I need I get the message that I must use Internet Explorer or Chrome or Mozilla. Although Excel uses Internet Explorer to open the website. I am not sure why this error.
Attached you will find the following:
1 - Few data rows that we need to run the loop on.
2 - A snapshot of the website that we need to input the data from the rows (FOLLOW LINK)
3 A snapshot to show you the tab ("Ocean Schedule") that we need to access after we open the main website in vba. (FOLLOW LINK)
Trying to find a set of code that I can use to open a website that's predetermined, and enter in the users name and password automatically. And if possible, open a new email via the website, addressed to a person, and ready to browse for the file to attach.
The code I have is below.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have an excel file with over 30 sheets on it. Contained in each sheet is a seperate pivot chart. i am looking for away to navigate around these sheets from the main screen. does anyone have any suggestions or opinions on the best way i can do this? here are my ideas but not sure which would work best
1. Create main sheet at the start and have hyperlinks to all sheets (by doing this how could i navigate back to home page?)
2. Create userform with drop down list of sheet names or search function to search for sheet names and then click on a button to go to sheet? dont know would i be able to do this? will the userform follow to the sheet with the pivot chart so i can select a different one from the same page? how could i hide the userform to view the chart and then bring it back to navigate to another?
I have a file which extracts employee entries when you put the employee code. Have created a form to show the progress % and estimated time for search.
In this form i have added a animation .gif file and it runs fine on my PC but not on any other PC as the .gif file is store on my desktop.
I want to store this .gif file on the workbook and any way i can set a path for the program to pick up the .gif file from the same excel workbook.
I'm looking to create a navigation sheet. Clicking different buttons will switch tabs and take you to the different parts of whichever sheet. Some sheets are several pages long so I thought this would be handy.
I tried using the hyperlink but it doesn't work as expected. It kind of randomly goes there. Ideally, I'd like the top of the page to be at the top of the screen.
Is there any code that can make it possible to navigate to my Documents Folder only that is on a network drive and open the folder but not a document.

I needed to create even the simplest of VB Code and i'm struggling to get a macro to navigate around a worksheet.
Here's what I have so far...
Sub Macro2()
Selection.End(xlDown).Select
Selection.End(xlDown).Select
Selection.End(xlDown).Select
Selection.End(xlDown).Select
Selection.ClearContents
Selection.End(xlToRight).Select
Selection.Cut
Selection.End(xlUp).Select
Selection.End(xlUp).Select
Selection.End(xlUp).Select
(At this point, I want the cell 2 above the last selected to be highlighted)
ActiveSheet.Paste
End Sub
when the user selects any cell(s), then hits the command button, I want the code to move the cell(s) selection to the far left i.e. Column "A". I've managed this is a roundabout way, but I'm trying to make a far more elegant version.
Set C = Selection
With C
While Not C.Previous Is Nothing
MsgBox C
Set C = C.Previous
Wend
End With
So C is the selection made my the user, for this example they are just selecting one cell. The MsgBox proves to me the code to moving the cell selection to the left, but the While condition falls as the Previous test condition fails and bombs the macro. I cannot think of another way of doing this. Is there a method that returns X and Y co-ordinates as numbers?

I am having problems refreshing my querytable.. I used the standard code that I found here in Ozgrid, it downloads the version, but when I changed it on the website, it still shows the old number.
