my spreadsheet is setup with two dates: A date for when someone joins our group A date for when they are released/leave
I want to be able to see exactly how many years/months/days transpired between these two dates. I have tried lots of different formulas with no success.
Cell A1 contains 02/29/2012
Cell B1 contains 12/01/2006
I am looking for a formula that will return the number of months (periods) between two dates, ignoring days and years. Using the above dates, which cannot be changed, the result needs to be 63. The formulas I have tried keep returning 64 because my later date is at the end of a period, and my earlier date is at the beginning.
i have column A and B with list of dates. Column A has earlier dates when compared to column B.
i am trying to find a formula with which i can know the difference between the dates in "number of months".
Ex: Column A has 06/01/2014 and Column B has 08/30/2014. The difference between the dates in terms of month is 3 which i need in a formula.
I have a problem again with one of Date Dif function " =DATEDIF(I5|J5|"m") " in attached file i have this function applied to calculate number of months in between two given dates but it seems this function is not working properly or i am missing some info in this to make it run properly. How to fix this function or give me a proper one which can solve my problem to calculate accurate months between these dates in attached file...

i have first date in cell a1 and second date in cell b1. I want formula to to how many months are in between these two dates,, for example
first date: 1 jan 12
swcond date: 5 apr 12
result: 4
Is there a formula which would show the number of months between two dates eg.
15-Jan-06 to 30-Nov-07 = 23 months
I'm using the Calendar Control to determine 2 dates. 1 Starting Date and 1 Ending Date. I'm trying to determine the total number of months between those two dates down to 2 Decimal Places. I also need to get the total number of weeks and days but those are much easier and I've been able to work those out by the following:
VB: AutoLinked keywords will cause extra spaces before keywords. Extra spacing is NOT transferred when copy/pasting, but IS if the keyword uses "quotes" ........
I want to calculate leave on the basis of Date of joining (DOJ). Rule is:
If DOJ is not he first day of the month, then no leave is earned for that month. Suppose DOJ is 26/12/2006, for Dec.2006 no leave is earned. One leave will be earned in January 2007 & subsequent months.
But if DOJ is 01/12/2006, then one leave will be earned in Dec.2006 & subsequent months also.
A zip file containg two excel files is attached for ready reference.
I need a simply excel formula or macro which calculates the numbers of months i need to accrue for certain costs. The data I have includes the start month of the invoice, the end month of the invoice (i.e. showing how long the invoice is relevant for, quite often 1 year), and obviously the current month.
(eg. a 12 month invoice with a start date of Oct 08, end date Sep 09, current May 09 = 8 mths to accrue)
(eg2. a 12 month invoice with a start date of Apr 09, end date of Mar 10, current May 09 = 2 mths to accrue)
(eg3. a 12 month invoice with a start date of Jun 09, end date of May 10, current May 09 = 0 mths to accrue)
if A1 is a start date and B1 is the end date, I want C1 to return the number of months there are between the start and end dates?

For example.
Start date 01/06/2012
End Date 01/02/2013
Number of months in 2012 = 6
Number of months in 2013 = 2
How can I write a formula to give me the answer of 6 & 2 from the start and finish dates?
I need a formula that will allow me to put a date in cell a2, and in cell a3 put the the number of days between 2 dates. Example.. For example (A2) shows 08/06/08, a3 to show the number of days from 08/06/08 to 08/14/2008--(a3 )14 and (a4) to shows the number of days from 08/06/08-10/05/2008 ---(a4) 60 days.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet where I have an intial date of issue of a warrant. Once this warrant has been executed, then a further column is populated with the date. The data I need to work out (Preferably without using macros if possible) is, if there is no execution date the length of time from issue to todays date, but if there is an execution date then length of time from issue to execution. I can do either on their own, but i would like to have only one column showing this info and if possible to update each time the sheet is opened
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a date column (Column E: Date Entered) on my spreadsheet that I need to set conditional formatting on. There are two conditions:
1) 18 months from the date in the cell needs to be highlighted yellow
2) 24 months from the date in the cell needs to be highlighted red
I'm trying to write a function that takes a date in format YYYYMM and adds/subtracts a number of months.
for example: newDate(YYYYMM,numMonths)
newDate(201109,5) would give 201202
newDate(201102,-4) would give 201010
I was thinking i could use the left/right function to retrieve the month and year ........
I am putting together a simple table to display current week's data vs previous weeks. The current week's data is drawn from a status chart which changes frequently. The constant change is fine for 'Current' as I only want the current data displayed.
The problem I am having is calculating the number of late jobs that existed during the previous week.
The status log has a due date which is compared to the current date to determine 'on time' status for the current week.
Due dates are reissued regularly so I can't use
=COUNTIF(RANGE,WEEKNUM(NOW()-1)) to return data about last week from my status chart.
I have available a 'Movement Log' (in the workbook but a separate worksheet) which tracks the changes in the due date field, but I'm not sure how to integrate that data to calculate the # of jobs that were running late from the last week.
My thought is that I need to perform a count of the # of late based on a comparison of 'due date' to 'date of the last day of last week' with a way to insert the "old due date" from the movement log to replace what is shown in the status log if necessary.

I've got a list of marks (col T), and I want to create a new column subtracting 5 from each value.
Obviously, the formula in this new column is
=T1-5
=T2-5
etc...
But I enter that formula and excel doesn't do any calculating, it just displays "T1-5"
It even seems to recognize that it's a formula, highlighting T1 in the formula and the T1 cell itself, but no resulting value...
I've tried changing the format of the cells (in both columns) to Number and back to General again, but without success.
I've also tried copying and pasting (values only) the whole T column to another column, and tried there, also without any success.
I input a month as a start date, and then want the next x number of cells to increment by one month based on the start date. I thought this would be easy using the preset DATE function but I can't get the thing to do what I want.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWas needing to calculate years and months returning it such as 2.10 if 2 years and 10 months.
And also if left blank would not return any value. (There might not be a date yet in H3 in some cells.)
G3 thru G1000 has the hire dates. H3 thru H1000 will be the cell for the formula.
Get the number of workdays between two dates in a VBA function. I tried simply using the Advanced Toolpak function NETWORKDAYS, but I get the error message "Sub or function not defined". I did reference to atpvbaen.xls in the Tools > References menu, so I don't know why Excel is not recognizing the function.
I used the following function to test it:
Function CalcNetDays(dInitial As Date, dEnd As Date)
CalcNetDays = NetworkDays(dInitial, dEnd)
End Function
Any reason the function is not working?
Also, I need to add the holidays to the function. The holidays are listed on a worksheet column. Do I simply add the range to the function, like below?
CalcNetDays = NetworkDays(dInitial, dEnd, Range("Holidays"))
I was calculating the number of days between two dates using the Days360 function. However, now it is not accurate enough for me... Is there a function that is more accurate? based on 365 days and includes leap years... that I could use as I need this calculation to be exact? For example, number of days between April 1st, 2010 and August 31, 2012 is 884, but the days360 function returns 870.
View 4 Replies View RelatedReport I generate once a month that checks to see if tasks are done on or before their due date. Sometimes it works, and others it doesn't...
The basic formula is: [Code] .....
If they closed their task by or before the due date, the condition should be true and it should output "Compliant" beside their task. Otherwise their "Over Due".
The forumla works except when they close their task ON the due date. No matter how I tweak the forumla, it thinks the condition is false as if it cannot tell when the two dates match.
Is there any reason why this wouldn't work in Excel 2007 despite working fine in 2003?
.Range("C2:C15132") = Right(.Range("C2:C15132"), 7)

If the Revenue A is bigger than Revenue B then take the Channel A as primary and secondary channel column as Channel B
if the Revenue B is bigger than Revenue A then take the Channel B as primary and Channel A as secondary

I imagine this is a simple conditional SUMIF function. I'd like a cell to add values in e.g. column "d" when that row meets certain criterion in column "a".
In other words, I have a column that has times recorded in minutes, and another that says a person's name which correlates with the times. I'd like a cell on another sheet to give a total sum of minutes for each person.
Ideally, part of the function would translate the minute count into hours/minutes, but I think I can figure out how to do that by changing the format in the cell...
