Simple Date Comparison Formula - When Two Dates Are Equal To Each Other
Feb 10, 2014
Report I generate once a month that checks to see if tasks are done on or before their due date. Sometimes it works, and others it doesn't...
The basic formula is: [Code] .....
If they closed their task by or before the due date, the condition should be true and it should output "Compliant" beside their task. Otherwise their "Over Due".
The forumla works except when they close their task ON the due date. No matter how I tweak the forumla, it thinks the condition is false as if it cannot tell when the two dates match.

I have a date in cell A1. I have an operator in cell A2. This info is then merged in to cell A3 with the following formula: =A2&TEXT(A1,"dd/mm/yyyy"). My data range is called "wc_date_of_loss". I want to use this info in a SUMPRODUCT formula (as the dates and operators can be changed by the end user). What's the correct syntax for that?
=SUMPRODUCT(--(wc_date_of_loss&A3))
=SUMPRODUCT(--(wc_date_of_loss=A3))
=SUMPRODUCT(--(wc_date_of_loss=TEXT(A2&A1,"general,dd/mm/yyyy")))

In my Excel spreadsheet I enter todays date in a single cell (A2), then I list various dates that jobs come into shop in other cells (A8:A108). I have cells ( F8:F108) where I have been manually entering an asterik (*) for those jobs equal to or greater than five days old in cell (A2). Is there a formula that can do the math for me? I've tried Excel help but to no avail.

The following formula works perfectly in Excel 2003:
=SUMPRODUCT((A2:A10="A")*(b2:b10="B")*(c2:c10="C"))
However, I've got a fourth column that contains either a date or a blank cells; I want to limit the formula to only include certain dates in the sum. i.e:
=SUMPRODUCT((A2:A1000="A")*(b2:b10="B")*(c2:c10="C")*(d2:d10>="01/04/2014"))
Rather than an error it's just retuning an incorrect number.

I have a spreadsheet with two colums with dates. The names of the ranges are 'DataContractualStartDate' and 'DataContractualEndDate'.
How do I manage to count the no. of records with equal dates at the same row?
I have used the following but this gives me zero, while in the example below the result should be 3.
=COUNTIFS(DataContractualStartDate,DataContractualEndDate)
The table looks as follows:
dContractualStartDate
dContractualEndDate
01-05-2012
01-05-2012
[Code] ....

I have two date columns, a start date and end date. Another columns tells me the number of days between these two columns. It may return 45 days which actually straddle 3 different months.
My aim is to identify between this date range how many days in Apr 14. Then in the next column howmany days in May 14 etc
So on the spreadsheet Id have 12 columns for each month of the year. in Apr 14 for each row between the given date range I want it to tell me how many days are actually in April. Id then copy that formula into the May 14 column.

How in VBA can you evaluate a cell in the "general" format and in the "date" format? I'd perfer do this entirely in VBA without use of a helper column in Excel.

I am constructing a spreadsheet which is intended to highlight Just in time and late jobs. I have headings job number/Customer/Delivery Date/ Revised Manufacture Date. The first three are already populated by extracting data from our erp system and we enter the revised run date ourselves.
What I am looking for is a formula which shows if the revised run date entry is a day prior to the delivery date then populate the last cell with JIT and colour the cell yellow. Or if the revised run date entry matches or is beyond the delivery date, populate the last cell with LATE and colour the cell red.

What I need is a Macro that will allow the user to enter a date (ex: 2/14/2008) and then look in column H for any dates prior to the user entered date and higlight the corresponding cell in Column A.
I created the macro below from one in another workbook of mine and when I run it, I get a Run-Time error '13' Type Mismatch. When I go to Debug this code is highlighted in yellow: lookVal = InputBox("Securitization Date")
How can this be fixed to accept a date entry in the Input Box?
Sub SecuritzationDate()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Dim lookVal As Long
lookVal = InputBox("Securitization Date")
For i = 2 To Range("H" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
If Range("H" & i).Value < lookVal Then
Range("A" & i).Interior.ColorIndex = 40
End If
Next i
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End Sub

Using online examples I am usually capable to reconstruct whatever I need. However, it's the combination of things I need to do now, which has left me banging my head on the keyboard for days now
Here's the data I am working with:
Sheet 1:
Sheet 2:
And here's what I need to get done:
From sheet 1, select first ID entry from Column A.Find matching ID in Column A of sheet 2On match, find in Column B the earliest date belonging to the concerned IDCopy that earliest date next to the corressponding ID in Column B back on sheet 1Return to step 1 and repeat for next ID entry. Do until end of list (sheet1)
So the result should look as following on sheet 1:
The major issue I am having is the combination of step 3 and 5. Because it probably means something like moving through an array that's within an array through which one is moving. And I am just missing that bit of experience that allows me to make that thinking step. I just keep falling off if you know what I mean...

I have a spreadsheet and I'm comparing data from a room booking system and a spot check on the room to see whether it's actually used. I have a column which I want to show whether the information agrees.
column G - I have a group size recorded that should be in a room.
column H - I have "yes" or "no" as to whether there was anyone in the room when it was checked
column I - I have the size of the actual group in the room.
Is it possible to create a formula that will fill in column J with the answer yes or no depending on whether it agrees.
It doesn't matter whether the groups sizes match, it's just a case of yes, someone was booked into the room and there was someone in when it was checked
OR
No, there was a booking supposed to be in the room but there was no one in it when checked
OR
There was no booking but there was someone in the room when checked.

I have to generate a report using a pivot table, that tells me what work was done on time and what was late. Entering a formula outside the pivot table sees the scheduled start date drop downs as "blank" and says they are late when they are not. I cannot seem to use the value fields when I try to create a calculation field within the table. I use 2010 at work, 2007 at home.

I am putting together an email reporting template in Excel that pulls in data from various sheets. The reason I'm doing this is because we need to brand the reports as our own, but our email service provider doesn't offer this capability. As a result, I have the report template saved on one worksheet, and I have copied and pasted other bits of the report that I need onto other sheets.
I need to create an area graph of the number of recipient opens against time (a response graph basically). So along the X axis I will have time periods (0-1 hours, 1-2 Hours up to 1-2 Days, 2-3 Days etc). Along the Y axis will be the number of recipients who opened the email within that particular timeframe. I can produce the graph easily enough when the data is in front of me, however, getting the data in the right format is proving tricky.
The list of open times is stored in column 'D' on a sheet called 'OPEN TIMES'. The reference time (time the email was sent) is stored in cell 'A60' of sheet "Full Report". As I see it, I should be able to use a COUNTIF formula to total the number of opens that meet a criteria (within a certain timeframe). So, this is the formula I tried:
=COUNTIF('Open Times'!D:D,('Open Times'!D:D

I have a table where I assigned Months (Jan-Dec), Current Month YTD (e.g. Nov YTD) and Dec YTD in the column field. Company Name and Year in rows.
For a particular company for example, Co.AAA. The Start Date is Oct 1, 2009 and the contract will end on Sep 30, 2014.
If my current reporting month is Nov 2013, From the table, I need to get the sum up the data that correspond from this dates inclusive in start and end date of Co.AAA.
Inclusive Dates are:
Dec YTD 2013
Dec YTD 2012
Dec YTD 2011
Dec YTD 2010
Dec 2009
Nov 2009
Oct 2009
If this is not possible, what other solution I can use to get the correct number?

I've tried some of the basic formulas, but this is beyond me.
I have table A of 500 rows and need to compare it to table B of 2000 rows.
A
B
C
D
E
1
D6 - 1.01
Table with PC
3
Yes
2
D6 - 1.01
Bookshelf
4
No
[Code] .......
For example with these two, from the second table to the first. IF column B equal to column and the corresponding column C equal to the corresponding column C, return for example "yes". Then I need to check the same thing for the corresponding other columns, but basically everything would be tied to B and C. The problem is the second table, larger one, is basically all over the place, I could manage to do this if we would be talking equal length tables, but I do not know what formulas I could use to check further down a row once we find an equal value.

I have two columns that I want to compare - but one of them is the result of a VLOOKUP - so it may actually contain the #N/A error - how can I compare them so that:
if col 1 agrees with col 2, then "yes" is returned
if col 1 does not agree with col 2 but the VLOOKUP in col 2 has NOT returned an error (so it's still a valid comparison) then "NO" is returned
if col 2 shows a VLOOKUP #N/A error then "NO" is returned
or, perhaps more straightforwardly:
Col 1 = ABC, col 2 = ABC then return "YES"
Col 1 = ABC, col 2 = DEF then return "NO"
Col 1 = ABC, col 2 = #N/A then return "NO"

Column A: Part numnber Inventory 1
Column B: Stock number Inventory 1
Column C: Quantity Inventory 1
Column E: Part numnber Inventory 2
Column F: Stock number Inventory 2
Column G: Quantity Inventory 2
I need a formula that says: If column B = column F, return the difference, if any, of Coulmn C - Column G to Column H
The data is not going to be inline, so B1 is not necessarily going to = F1

I'm trying to make a formula to calculate the difference in a date between two dates. For exaple, in my business we have a due day for something. So the due date could be Feb 10, we need to know if it was done on time, late, or early. So I've gotten it to display late by doing this: =IF(B2>A2, "Late", (A2-B2)) But then I can't figure out how to incorporate this: =IF(B2=A2, "On Time") or =IF(B2<A2, "Early").
I would like to displaly this all in one cell. So if the due date is Feb 10 and it's turned in Feb 8 it's early, turned in Feb 10 it says on time, turned in Feb 11 it's late. I also tried this but it didn't work: =OR(IF(B2>A2,"Late")*IF(B2=A2,"On Time")*IF(B2<A2,"Early"))

The data that i was using has been changed and they have decided to change the format of the dates and dropped the year reference no all i have to work with is dates like 27-07 this represents 27th July i can format this date to work fine unless the date falls before 1 jan this year all i get is lots of numbers and it stuffs up the whole calculation.
The formula i am using to compare the dates is
=DATEDIF(N31,$D$1,"d")

I need a formula that will calculate the percentage of the total duration between two dates (in dd.mm.yyyy hh:mm format) that a third, intervening date represents.
As an example:
a) 10th Jan 2014 09:00
b) 20th Jan 2014 09:00
c) 30th Jan 2014 09:00
In this case the answer sould be 50% because 'b' represents exactly half of the time elapsed between 'a' and 'c'.
Note: the formula needs to work effectively across the boundary between two consecutive years.

Using Excel 2003. I have a very basic SUM formula I am using to show how many forms are still in-house. Pretty simple.
Column D is how many came in.
Column F is how many were completed.
Column E is what is left.
To get the daily count I take the previous day's Column E, add to today's Column D and subtract today's Column F.
=(E2+D3-F3)
Puts the results in E3.
This formula is copied on down the worksheet which results in:
=(E3+D4-F4), with the results in E4. And so on down Column E.
The problem is that if there is no data entered in Column D or F, the results from E are carried (copied?) as far down as the forumla. i.e., if today's column E results in 4, then that is displayed for as far down as I have copied the formula. What I'd like to do is set the formula so that if there is no data in columns E or F, then there is nothing displayed in Column E.
