May 5, 2014I have multiple sheets in excel file. Every sheet having same information for different areas. e.g. The bug was reported. One sheet might have answer in YES and other sheet might have No. I need to get answer YES if even one of sheet contains YES for the field.

We need to introduce a cap so no more than 1000 points can be displayed/earned. So column G adds all points & column F caps.
So far it's all ok.
Now when i add a value to column E (points spent) those points are deducted from column G instead of the capped 1000.
Entering a value of 500 displays 800 in column F instead of 500.

Sep 18, 2006Attached is a spreadsheet that contains a list of Football teams (F) with corrasponding numbers next to them (E). In column A is a list of footballers and column B has a corrasponding number. WHat I want to be able to do is type in the footballers names in A and type a number next to them in B, in column C it would read off the corrasponding Team number and populate it with the team name. In the attached example I'll manually list the fist teams in B, i need a formula todo this for me. Probably quite simple.

Aug 9, 2013I'm trying to find the largest number in a row and then have the column heading (text) as the result. I can find the largest number by using =max(numb1, numb2 ....) but then how do I get the heading of the column as the result. An example of what I want to happen is below

Jan 31, 2014Is there a way to tell Excel to sum only up to a certain point? Like if A1 through AF equal 50, but I only want it to sum up to 40, to stop at 40?
Is there also a way to tell Excel using IF that if a statement evaluating a number is true or false, to return the value up until a certain number. For instance, if the value is 8 or less, then it should return that number, but if it exceeds beyond 8, say for instance 12, then if the value is 12, only return 8.
RoundUp Vlookup Result If Greater Than X
Jan 25, 2008I have a formula that calculates a revenue per day by taking total revenue devided by total days, from that I have another cell doing a VLOOKUP on that to find what tier that value falls under almost like a grade book, however I need the division to be rounded up if greater than x.xx5 because when I do the VLOOKUP sometimes it drops the product to the lower tier when I needed it rounded up. example:
=IF(ISERROR(Data!H6/Data!E6),"",(Data!H6/Data!E6))
if the value of those were to actually equal 1.256 I want to be able to have the VLOOKUP return the tier for 1.26 not 1.25

Jun 10, 2014When I drag my VLOOKUP formula down a column in Excel 2010, the return value copies the formula result from the original VLOOKUP formula result. For example, if the first VLOOKUP returns a value of 0.5, I expect to see 0.5 or 1 in the cell below that one. However, I get 0.5 which is not the expected result for the cell below.
When, I click the fx on the cells below, the expected return values appear in the formula result. After I click OK, the expected formula results updates and now appears in the cell.
I'm not sure what is causing this issue. My computer was updated recently from an old machine to a new one. I have never experienced this issue before.

Sep 3, 2006I created a simple auto numbering function whereby Cell A7 contained =Row()-6, and Cell A8 contained =(A7+1). I then shift, and pasted the contents of cell A8 until cell A600. My aim is to simply copy the increments of 1 - 600 into another column. However when i copy and paste i'm also copying the initial underlying formula ie: =( A?+1), Is there a way to copy the results, not the formula?

So, ideally, if the first three columns in the first tab were "Team," "Name," and "Total," respectively, I just want a formula to search for "Name" and give me back "B."
I want to do this in case anybody ever moves the "Name" column, for example, from column B to column C -- so then it would search for "Name" again and change the range in the formula to "C" because that's where that data lives now.
Currently, I'm using it for a COUNTIF() function that is a very simple: =countif(indirect("'"&$A2&"'!K:K"),$B2), where A2 is the sheet name. The latter half of $B2 is fine -- but I would love to have a more complicated formula take the place of the range "B:B" in case the "Name" column ever got moved.

lets say I have 3 columns (A,B,C (search criteria). In each Column there is a DIFFERENT number. There is 3 more columns (D,E,F (used to compare).Each column has 3 Different numbers. If 3 numbers match between the two sets of 3 numbers I want Column G to display "CCC". IF 2 numbers match I want G to display "CCH". If 1 number is a match I want G to display "HHC". If none of the numbers match I want G to display "HHH".
I can manually do these but it will take waaaay toooooooooo much time to do. If you can do this for me it would be a great help indeed because I'm trying to do other states. With this formula I can use Automate to do a large quantity of numbers.
