I have a workbook that uses a index page that I created. It has lots of hyperlinks on it to route them to other sheets in the workbook. Each worksheet has a hyperlink to go back to the index page, and one to open an email. I have a user with 2010 now that is getting an error when clicking on the hyperlink. Error Message: "This Operation Has Been Canceled Due To Restrictions on the Computer. Contact Your Administrator."
I have a workbook in excel 2003 which I had been running the following macros (listed below). We recently upgraded to Excel 07, and neither are working. When I try to run them, the "debug" option highlights the following line in the sort macro "Range("A2:z" & lastcell).Sort key1:=.Columns(1)". This is driving me crazy, as the macros worked perfectly under the older version of Microsoft. Is there an issue with crossfunctionality between '03 and '07'.
Private Sub Worksheet_change(ByVal target As Excel.Range) If target.Column = 1 Then ThisRow = target.Row startRow = 1 i = 1 Set ws = ActiveSheet maxRow = Cells.SpecialCells(xlLastCell).Row maxCol = Cells.SpecialCells(xlLastCell).Column ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Interior.ColorIndex = xlNone Do While i
I have a macro that would create a hyperlink for every one of the files in a folder that a specific cell gave the url address for.
Recently I got moved to a new pc and forgot to migrate my macro's over. In combing back through previous threads... I found the macro, but now it won't work.
[Code] ......
The error that I get is:
Compile error: Invalid use of property
I get this error at row
Range (Cells(Rows.count, "U").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Address)
I have column "A" a list of my PDF filenames and File path in Column "B". I want to establish hyperlinks for each of these PDF filenames (column A) and link it with the file path that I generated in Column B.
=HYPERLINK(B1,A1) did it very well, but unfortunately when converting to PDF, the hyperlink is not working, and I believe the conversion retained is only in text, so now my only resort is hardcoding it by VBA.
I want to put a hyperlink into an existing spreadsheet (which already has some hyperlinks in) but for some reason that option is now greyed out on my tool bar.
I am using excel 2007. My workbook contains a tab with several buttons with hyperlinks to corresponding other tabs in the workbook. The hyperlink works fine when the tabs are visible, but do not work when I hide the tabs.
Is there a way use hyperlinks on tabs that are hidden?
I am having difficulty writing code to insert a hyperlink from a command button on a userform. I have set up a worksheet to be a data base for a lot of new files which are being created on a daily basis. The userform when activated asks the user to input certain information about the new file being stored in the data base (ie file name, date created, relevant project, description, who created it, etc). I have put a command button on the userform which I would like to activate the "Insert Hyperlink" menu so the user can then navigate to the location of the file being stored and have that hyperlink stored in a cell against the file when the "Submit" button is clicked on the userform.
I have read almost every thread on inserting hyperlinks with vba but none seem related to my needs. Using Windows 7 and Excel 2007
with the following: The VBA macro I am using, is derived from the excellent "Table of Contents" macro written by Erik Van Geit, a few years ago.
I have a workbook (in Excel 2007, Windows XP) with an Index sheet and 200 other sheets (called ScreenShot1 to ScreenShot200). Each of these 200 sheets has had an image pasted in the top left corner.
At present, using the macro below, a hyperlink is placed in cell A1 on each of these 200 sheets (it's behind the image) that links to cell M1 on the Index sheet. What I would like this macro to do is make each image the hyperlink back to cell M1 on the Index sheet. Please note that the images are not named.
VBA code below,
Sub create_TOC() Dim i As Integer Dim msg As String Dim fc_order As Range Dim sht As Object '**** EDIT the following lines **** Const TOC = "Table of Contents" Const Index = "Index" Const CellLink = "A1" '**** END EDIT ****
I inserted a hyperlink into a cell that goes to a web page. It works when the sheet is NOT protected, as soon as I protect the sheet it stops working. How do can I lock the workbook and that cell so nobody can change it but the hyperlink still work?
I wish to use a formula to grab data out of cells A1 & B1 and use that data to complete a hyperlink URL in cell A3. The base URL never changes but the last two variables do. For instance:
I have a worksheet with several data validation dropdowns that each link to a series of hyperlinks. When you click the dropdown and select the hyperlink, it opens up that particular file. All of these work, except for one of the dropdowns. Even though I can see and select the names, the link is NOT activated.
Is there some obscure excel feature that I am not aware of that is preventing this one from working? Why would this be?
Paste URL as Hyperlink: I just want to paste a bunch of urls into a spreadsheet and have them automatically formatted as urls. i've checked my auto-correct options, and i have selected the checkbox that says: replace as you type/internet and network paths with hyperlinks.
See attached. if you copy and paste a url into the spreadsheet, it will be formatted as text.
Format Existing URLs as Hyperlinks : the attached spreadsheet contains urls that have been copy & pasted. is there a way to format them as hyperlinks all at once?
All my macros have suddenly started crashing Excel 2007 when I try to run any one of them. I can record a new macro but even that newly recorded macro will crash Excel.
Service Pack 1 was downloaded and installed by Windows Update two days ago and I had successfully run macros after SP1 was installed.
Today, it's a no go and I'm at a loss as to what may have caused this problem. I have not installed any software lately, other than the Windows updates on patch Tuesday.
This is on a Vista Home Premium machine.
When I try to run a macro, Excel crashes with this info:
application.FileSearch.NewSearch application.FileSearch.LookIn = Workbooks(ActiveWorkbook.Name).Path application.FileSearch.FileType = msoFileTypeAllFiles application.FileSearch.SearchSubFolders = True application.FileSearch.Filename = "Zone Selling*.xls" application.FileSearch.MatchTextExactly = True application.FileSearch.Execute filecount = application.FileSearch.FoundFiles.Count For i = 1 To filecount Worksheets("Run").Cells(i, 1) = application.FileSearch.FoundFiles(i) Next i For i = 1 To filecount......................
But it won't list my files which is how the macro was running, it was returning a list of the files in the folder and then running them based on the path returned
I've worked with Excel for many years and have just begun writing VBA in Excel 2007, so I am really stumped by this:
SR = 1 SC = 1 TR = 40 TC = 2
Worksheets("ChartData").Activate
' Works ActiveSheet.Range("A1:B40").Select
' All of the following Fail w/1004 Error ActiveSheet.Range(Cells(1, 1)).Select ActiveSheet.Range(Cells(1, 1), Cells(40, 2)).Select ActiveSheet.Range(Cells(SR, SC), Cells(TR, TC)).Select
At first I thought I had a bad install, but this is happening on two manufacturer installed systems... And I seem to be following the documentation for the use of Range with Cells. Am I missing something?
I am trying to migrate a model that I built in Excel 2002 to Excel 2007. The model has an advanced filter in it to get unique values. However in 2002 the filter worked correctly but in 2007 it produces nothing. The code excerpt is below :-
I am trying to use the NETWORKDAYS function in excel to calculate the working days for my company. the problem is I m located in UAE and here Saturdays and Fridays are official days off for my company. Now the problem is that the excel have this built in function that Sunday and Saturdays are weekend days. I want to customize the function for my local days off for my company.
I wrote a macro to list all the excel files from a directory and its sub-directories to an excel sheet. It is working in excel 2003 but shows error (object does not support this action) in 2007. Actually I have copied almost this entire macro from excel 2007 help only. Can somebody modify this to use in both the versions of excel?
I have used the following code behind a projects Command button for some time, and works well in Excel 2002/2003. It's used to look for and insert a Picture file, located on the users PC, select cell C2, re-size it to fit inside a bordered cell area and then nudge it over, off the border line.
Sub Load_Image() Dim oPict, PictObj Dim sImgFileFormat As String 'Open file GetPict: oPict = Application.GetOpenFilename("All Pictures (*.tif; *.bmp; *.jpg; *.gif; *.jpeg; *.png; *.cpt; *.tiff),*.tif; *.bmp; *.jpg; *.gif; *.jpeg; *.png; *.cpt; *.tiff") If oPict = False Then End Range("C2").Select Set PictObj = ActiveSheet.Pictures.Insert(oPict) With PictObj .ShapeRange.LockAspectRatio = msoFalse .ShapeRange.Width = 712# .ShapeRange.Height = 510# End With PictObj.Select With PictObj Selection.ShapeRange.IncrementLeft 1# Selection.ShapeRange.IncrementTop 1# End With Range("A1").Select
End Sub
Unfortunately, Excel 2007 doesn't seem to identify the Cell reference "C2". It modifies the Picture size OK but does not position the picture in the correct position. I've tried re-recording it but 2007 misses most of actions.??? Despite my efforts looking on other forums, I don't seem to find a code that works on both version of Excel.
I am using Excel 2010. The template only has 5 working days in it, but I need to set 6 working days (Saturday is also working day). Wondering, how to get this working without spoiling the functions. Also the date format is in US , need to change to UK without disrupting the Formula/Functions.
In Excel 2010, I can manually enter the GetPivotData function (and it works), but with Generate GetPivotData selected / enabled (in PivotTable Tools --> Options --> PivotTable --> Options), the GetPivotData function isn't automatically generated.
I copied (with 'Paste Link') rows from a master Excel file to a file that performs calculations. This file (and many others like it) need to be modifed by other people. My tester has informed me that the data is not updating between the files for her, although it does work for me.
When I check 'Data->Edit Links' it shows the status of the file as 'unknown'. If I click 'Check status' it is then OK, but the next time I look at it, it has reverted to 'unknown'.
1. How do I get the status to remain at OK?
2. Why do the links work for me, but not for my end users?
I have a macro to collate data from multiple workbooks to a single sheet. The folder path to the source files can be chosen thorugh the macro. It runs perfectly in my system running on Windows XP. But it doesnt run on Wondows 7 system. Both are using MS Excel 2010. In Windows 7 system, while choosing the folder path where source files are located, it says "No items match your search" (screenshot attached). I would want the macro modified so that it runs on any platform. The macros that I'm using is given below:
I have a filter on the Qty column but when I sort Z -A or A - Z it does not work. I have tried formatting as number but no success, I have never seen this before, why the sort wont work? I am using Excel 2010 in Win 7
I have a workbook with multiple tabs that I update every other month with current data. I have one tab for data that I clear each time and copy the updated info into. (That info is copied from another excel spreadsheet, by the way.) On the second tab I have sumifs formulas set up to pull in certain data from the data tab. This setup has worked perfectly until today. I copied my data into the one tab but could not get the formulas to calculate. It looks like the formulas aren't picking up the data. I've checked to make sure the formulas are calculating automatically. I've retyped the formula. I've replaced the =. I tried naming the ranges I wanted the data to be picked up from. I've tried changing the format of the data - general, text, numbers, etc. I'm working in excel 2010
I am using this macro below to paste pictures from a folder. This works perfect when run on excel 2007, however it only links image when this is run on excel 2010. How to eliminate the error.
Option Explicit Sub alex_it_saving_lives()
'get the image folder path Dim strImagePath As String strImagePath = GetImageFolderPath If (Len(strImagePath) = 0) Then
