Excel 2010 :: Hyperlink - URL Has Two Values In Which To Input Data
Feb 24, 2012I wish to use a formula to grab data out of cells A1 & B1 and use that data to complete a hyperlink URL in cell A3. The base URL never changes but the last two variables do. For instance:
URL Format: http://www.test.com/XXXX&page=XXX
Example data:
Cell A1 = 1234 (always 4 digits)
Cell A2 = 567 (always 3 digits)
Desired Final Result, hyperlink: [URL] .........
I cannot seem to figure it out.... my formula i have gives errors:
=HYPERLINK("http://www.test.com/"(A1)"&page="(A2), "Linked")

In Cell CB22 I have the Following Formula:
=IF(CA22=TRUE,"1","")
In Cell CC22 I Have...
=IF(CB22="1","RM-4E ADD1",HYPERLINK('RM-4E (Add - 1) (2)'!A1,"RM-4E ADD1"))
The Sheet namne its supposed to Hyperlink to is called
RM-4E (Add - 1) (2)
When the Check Box is Unchecked it Changes CA22 to False and Puts in CC22 Text: RM-4E ADD1
When the Check Box is Checked it CHanges CA22 to TRUE and is supposed to create a Hyperlink to that sheet...Only when i click it it comes back with
'Cannot open the specified file."
I even went as far as typing out the Word Hyperlink( clicked the sheet and selected Cell A1 on that sheet but it still comes back with the error!

Paste URL as Hyperlink: I just want to paste a bunch of urls into a spreadsheet and have them automatically formatted as urls. i've checked my auto-correct options, and i have selected the checkbox that says: replace as you type/internet and network paths with hyperlinks.
See attached. if you copy and paste a url into the spreadsheet, it will be formatted as text.
Format Existing URLs as Hyperlinks : the attached spreadsheet contains urls that have been copy & pasted. is there a way to format them as hyperlinks all at once?

Jan 30, 2014I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet consisting of many worksheets (20 or so). Each of these worksheets contain detail level data regarding different projects. One of the columns in these worksheets is the 'Status' column (column F). There is conditional formatting on this column where if the text is 'G' then change background to a green color, 'Y'=yellow, 'R'=Red and 'U'=Grey.
The first worksheet is a summary sheet that I would like to pull information from each of the detail worksheet's columns B, D, E, G and H if the status column (Column F) is 'R' or 'Y'.
The number of rows in the detail worksheet can change each week (as few as 0 and as many as 100)

I have a macro in which I have named a range of numbers in a spreadsheet, used the "find" function to find a particular number in that range, and now would like to copy some information into a cell in the same row as the found number. However, when I try to move over to the cell that I'm copying to, it only goes to the 1st row in the range that I have defined.
Here's the portion of code I think you need to see. Everything works...it finds a match...but then I don't know what to do from there to get the information to the correct row:

I have a very large spreadsheet with 9 columns and the max number of rows that excel supports (office 2010).
What I want to do is copy the entire row of data IF a cell in that row contains a specific string I'm interested in.
If it's necessary, the column that contains the values that would trigger a row copy would be column C and the data would be pasted onto a new sheet.

I know what I need is very doable but I can't get my head around what the code would look like. I must not be wording my searches correctly because most of what I'm getting for results are iterative programs based on a cells value which isn't what I need.
I'm trying to build a macro that will check a cell (C3) and based on the contents of that cell copy a column (I) to one of 12 different columns (K:V). So if the value in C3 is 1 it should copy I to K, if the value is 2 it should copy I to L, and so on.

Apr 19, 2010I have an Excel 2003 file that contains hyperlinks to OneNote notebooks on a Sharepoint site. An Excel macro looks for these links and determines the full hyperlink address which is then assigned to a variable. An Outlook message is generated which includes the hyperlinks.
The hyperlinks work in the Excel file. I can also copy them from OneNote and manually paste them into an Outlook message and they work. However, when I obtain their full address and transfer that to the email through code, the links do not work. The hyperlink address from OneNote starts with "onenote:http" which is not recognized as a link.
If I can do this manually, there must be a way to do this with vba. Are there characters I need to include in the OneNote hyperlink address to make this work? Is there another way to transfer the working link from Excel to Outlook?

Jul 8, 2014I have a file which has in excess of 12,000 rows of data in 5 columns (sample file attached with fake data). The five rows are:
"First Name" "Last Name" "Name" (uses CONCATENATE to combine column A & B) "Email" "Date Attended"
There will be duplications in the list as people will have attended more than once over the years.
What I want to do is search through the email addresses (Column D with D1 being the header) and where there is a duplicate email address copy the cell to the right of the duplicate (F#) into the next available cell to the right of the first occurance and then delete the row with the duplicated email address.

I need to get that list of numbers listed out to the right, with one number per cell. The list in column one could possibly contain from 1 to 20 numbers, and the last number is always without the comma after it.

May 14, 2014I'd like my macro (in an Excel 2010 workbook) to copy values from three worksheet cells and append them to an existing Access or SQL database file -- without having to leave my Excel spreadsheet or open any other programs. The database file simply needs to be appended. Keeping a running list. That file isn't being used for anything else, we can set it up however is necessary to do this.
For example, Excel cells A1, A2, and A3. Representing Job Name, Job Number and Job Total.
how make VBA do this(in SIMPLE terms)? Or give me a link of where to look or what to search for? I understand VBA but not Access or SQL.

Excel Macro To Modify Hyperlink To Copy And Paste
Feb 15, 2014I have a workbook that has 2 worksheets. Sheet1 has a data table that is filled from an SQL database. I would like the first column of the data table to have each cell be a hyperlink. The destination of the hyperlink is Sheet2, cell A2. I would like to modify the hyperlink, so that when the user clicks on the hyperlink, the text-display of the hyperlink is copied into sheet2 cell A2. Initially, I thought this was simple. I added the event code shown below:

This worked, however there was a problem. I manually added the hyperlink to all cells in column1 of sheet1. However, this made the TextToDisplay property the value of the first cell for all hyperlinks. So, solution to add hyperlinks to all cells in the first column, with TextToDisplay property set for each individual cell. What is the best way to do this with the fact that the number of rows in column1 will vary as the size of the SQL query changes?

Dec 19, 2007I have created a Macro that lists and creates links of all the Excel Documents in a Directory (500+). I would like to extract from each of those files data from a single cell on a certain sheet. (The sheet and cell are the same in each of these files). The code I have written opens each of these files, copies the data and pastes the value in the column next to each sheet. This is a very time consuming task because of the shear volume. I feel that there is a better way to do this, I'm just not seeing it. If you could come up with a way to create this as a reference that would be great too instead of having to rebuild the entire list if the data changes. Here is the code I have written.

Copy Hyperlink Cell To Range Of Cell Individually
Dec 1, 2012I have a hyperlink cell. Straightforward copying and pasting it to another cell works well, with the new cell replicating the hyperlink. However, if I try to copy the hyperlink cell to a range of cells (say B1 to B5), at first it looks ok, but once I click one of them, it appears they are all clicked. And if I delete one of the cells in the range, say B3, ALL cells within that range loses its hyperlink. It looks like all of these hyperlinks are referencing one another, but once I delete one cell, the rest loses its hyperlink (the words are still there). At the current time, I have to copy into the range individually (copy to B1, then B2, then B3...etc), but this becomes a hassle if I have a large range.

I have a hyperlink from cell M2 in a worksheet to cell B2 in another worksheet. I typed the cell reference on the target worksheet as B2. this works fine. The problem is that when I copy/paste the hyperlink down the column, the reference cell stays at B2. I need the reference cell to change when copied down to B3, B4, etc.

For report purpose, I want to delete those rows along with the pictures. Possible to do so? I did an Internet search and found that drawing objects are not bonded to a row or a cell. Apr 18, 2012The problem is that whenever I have any browser open, IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc... the Cut & Paste, Copy & Paste function does not work correctly in Excel 2010.
When I Cut or Copy the blinking marquee around my selection briefly appears and then disappears. When I try to paste, I only have two options under the paste special function: Unicode Text and Text, same with cut and paste, however, the text doesn't actually cut, it only copies.
As soon as I close down any of the mentioned browsers, the full functionality of the cut/copy & paste functions are restored, no need to restart excel.
I need to have open a browser most of the time for work as our system is web based, so closing and re-opening is more than just an annoyance.

I am using the following formula to copy the name of the tab - =MID(CELL("filename",C26),FIND("]",CELL("filename",A1))+1,6)
I have a marco that creates a tab from a Master file, and I need to copy the name of the tab into cell A2, using the formula above. Then I use a vlookup on this cell, to get the data needed for about 10 other fields. I have these vlookups in the Master file. The vlookup doesn't work all the time. I get a #NA answer. Sometimes it does work. When I manually type in the project number on the tab, the vlookups work.
Sample of the vlookup: =VLOOKUP(A2,'AC-Program'!$A$1:$H$58600,2,0)
I was trying to find a way to use a value in cell A2 instead of the formula above, but I don't want to have to manually update it, I need it to be generated when the Marco generates the tabs.
Here is my macro:
