If cell 1B does not = 0 I want to add a line between line 1 and 2 (I'll call that line "11") and take Value2 and paste it into 11A If cell 1B is blank I want it to do nothing
I want to automate this as much as possible but if it's not easy to do I at least want to at least automatically add a blank row below if value does not = 0 and then I can manually move the values as needed.
Creating a macro that will identify the last blank line in column J and insert a line in it? The macro will need to look from the "bottom" as there is blanks cells above the last line.
I need to do two things in my Excel spreadsheet: 1) I want it to insert a blank row everytime a value in the 1st column changes. 2) In the blank lines, I want to do a COUNTA for each of columns G through N. If I can get the program to insert the blank rows...they will not be a set # of records apart...some will have 3 records & some might have 17 records. Is there a way to automatically cause #2 to happen instead of having to choose the function icon and then tell Excel the first and last cells in each range?
Am currently working on a sheet (Attached), which is attempting to take data input in a sheet (PnL tab), and work them into manageable data on the Frontsheet, via the seperate F&O and Equities tabs.
Now, in the Equities section of the frontsheet, my array formula to pull through the data from the Equities sheet is bringing up an erroneous blank line, despite the forumal being told to ignore blanks.
As far as I can tell, this is referencing formulated tabs, and how to stop this from happening.
I have a ComboBox on a UserForm which is populated with data from a spreadsheet. When I run the program I always get a blank line at the top. Once I select an item from the drop down list the blank line goes away. Is there any way to get the ComboBox to initially display the first item of my list, i.e. no blank line.
I have the following code that works just fine half of what I need it to do. The line that adds the text in column A functions correctly but the code for column B fails because column B is empty by default. The goal is to have the information in column B on the same row as column A. As well as adding two more cells on the same row as column A. The two new columns would be E and G and should be in the same row as the information from Column A. with formulas copied from e2 and g2.
I have created a message box and I want leave two blank lines in the middle of the text. Is this possible?
At the moment my code for the message box line looks like:
Msg = "This process will print each site for " & UserSlection & ". Before continuing please ensure you have the right printer selected. (I.E. a colour printer where available). The process may take several minutes to complete. Do you wish to continue?"
I just want to move the "Do you wish to continue?" down two lines so that it is easier to read.
i have a spreadsheet with 21,000 part numbers. I am trying to group the like part numbers, then leave a space between the unlike part numbers. right now my spreadsheet has a space between each part number and i want to eliminate that. but also keeping the part's qty, date, etc. with it.
I have a 97-2003 spreadsheet with approximately 22,000 lines of seperate companies. I need to know how to insert a blank line between the company names. I have been using the "Right Click - Insert" method but soon realized there must be 2000 different companies. The Company Name column is A.
I have a workbook that usually looks something like this
Category Product No description Price
Balloons 12345 Red Disney balloon .50 Balloons 12567 Blue Princess balloon .86 Balloons 76521 Angry Birds Balloon .80
Kites 23456 A Big red Kite .27 Kites 22222 A small blue kite .06
Banners 10000 Party banner .33
etc..
I need to find a way to copy the category below an empty row from column A and paste it in the blank row in column B . If possible to bolden the text but I could probably work that bit out myself. I'm new to this but have used VBA before to run macros.
I can't modify my formula to leave blank cells blank when dragging it down, Also, I've got two formulas that i need to combine. Please view the comments I've put in cells E4, F2,F3,H2 and I2 to understand clearly what am seeking. See the attached worksheet.
I have one column that contains an If statement formula and would like the next column to then work off of the first column (i.e. if that 1st column returns a value then then adjacent column uses that result).
What is happening now is that it is returning #value (because I guess technically the cell isn't blank?)
I am looking for an IF statement that would leave a balance cell blank if both the revenue and expense cells are blank, otherwise a formula would be calculated.
I presume this is fairly simple to do, since it's certainly easy enough to do manually by filling in a couple of rows and dragging them down, but I need it to be performed in a macro that I can run before other macros run.
What I need specifically is for the macro to go to G1 and insert the number .01... Then go to G2 and insert .02... Then G3 and insert .03... And repeat this until it finds the first non-blank cell ( row number this occurs at varies), at which point it ends and does nothing to that populated cell or any other cell in the column thereafter (including other blanks farther down).
The range of cells in column B containing the items has a name "ColStreams"
I need to go through the list, filling in each blank cells with the value contained in the first non-blank cell above it - so, in this case, rows 6 and 7 would contain "Item 2", row 9 would contain "Item 3", rows 11-13 would contain "Item 4" and so on.
The formula below calculates appropriately, however, if any of the cells (E12,E14, E21, E22, E28, E29) are blank, it returns a #VALUE! error. I would like the cell to remain blank. How can I do this? The formula is listed below.
Im currently writing a payroll sheet within excell and trying to write an IF statement to make a cell blank if referring to another blank cell but it is showing the formula is incorrect. Below is the following IF statement that im using;
My workbook is for financial planning but I'm attempting to streamline an input page (name, birthdate, etc) that will be referenced throughout the entire workbook to trigger automatic calculations (present value, education calculations, etc).
The cell in the input page is a birthdate - which when populated will trigger a cell on a different worksheet to calculate the respective age using this formula:
The problem is if there is nothing written in the birthdate cell then the age cell will automatically calculate 114 (reference photo below). Ideally I'd like that cell to be blank if nothing is in the birthdate cell on the input worksheet. I'm assuming since I'm using an IF formula to calculate the age already then I'll need to use a macro to to an "ignore".
in one column of my spreadsheet and it is returning the correct concatenation for the appropriate lines. However, I wish to have the column's cells return an answer of blank (" ") if B15, B16... etc is blank. In other words, at the moment, a correct answer would read something like '1810sd0000' C10 and B15 used, while an incorrect answer would still display '1810', but I want it to be a blank cell.
I have the data to import / read in a pdf, in a doc, or in an Excel worksheet whichever is easier to use. I need to import the data, parse it into the correct cells for that row and then repeat the import until the end of the file. Not all the cells are in each group of data to import, so those cells will be null for that row. Some of the data for one cell may be in up to 14 lines in the data file. I have be concatenating these data rows into one cell. There are 48,000 lines in the file to import or I would do this manually. I am assuming that doing this in VBA would be the most efficient method.
Our small family business has a mailing campaign that we track with excel. However, we're very concerned about users opening the macro-filled master spreadsheet. Instead, we'd like a macro to do everything for them.
When a letter comes back in the mail with a bad address, the user types the Street number and street name such as "1234 Main St" into $A2 of c:dropbox eturned.xlsm, presses the macro button, and it should do the following:
Opens and Searches "Sheet1", "column S", in the file c:dropboxmaster1.xlsm, and finds the LAST instance of the address typed.Selects that entire rowCopies the entire row.Pastes the contents into the row of the active cell in the destination spreadsheet, overwriting what was there before. Such as $2:$2 if the address was typed in $A2.In the master1.xlsm spreadsheet, sets the entire copied row color to "gray".closes master1.xlsm and saves changes.
The end result is that the user now has an identical row of information in their spreadsheet, and the master spreadsheet's row is colored gray indicating it has been completed.
Other notes:I'm open to more efficient steps than this if you have them. There are approx 5,000 records to search through in master1.xlsx at any given time.
I have about 180 workbooks which I need to compile into a Master Schedule.
All the tab 1's are different, these feed into tab 2, which the data has the same formatting throughout. The 2nd tab has the same data for A:F 1 but cells A:2 - F:2 down to row 9 are populated from tab 1, therefore different in each. I am trying to get a Master schedule that lifts the data in the fed cells into a line by line spreadsheet?
Is there a way I can get excel to look at a folder, then every workbook in it, the at the 2nd tab in every workbook, then list the cells as described above? I am not after a consolidation of this data, but a full list?
I'm trying to combine 2 cells that both have text on multiple lines separated by line breaks. I want to keep the formatting so that when both cells are combined, line one from cell 1 and line 1 from cell 2 are on the same line in the new combined cell. This is easy to do when there is only 1 line in each cell but how do you do this for cells with multiple lines? Here is an example of what I am trying to do:
A B C
1 First Name: Last Name: Address: John Smith 123 Harold Street First Name: John Last Name: Smith Address: 123 Harold Street
I need to read or clear all the line in specific range which will be increasing dynamically. Problem is "Selected File List" table range is not specified. New file chosen with browse will be added to "Selected File List" dynamically. Number of file can't be predicted.
vbaStk.JPG
What I've tried so far is, keep track of the browse button click and add the file path to arraylist. After that, (Row number 9 which is start line + arraylist size) to get the number of line of end of the table. But due to some requirement, I want to read the file from excel file. Something like -Read until found blank line or border bottom or something.
I'm new to VBA and I'm not so sure what I'm doing with vba codes
