I am trying to number rows based on criteria. when the value changes add a 1. This is what I need to have happen

Apple - 1
Apple - 1
Apple - 1
Orange - 2
Orange - 2
Plum - 3
Plum - 3

I can get an if statement to number everything 1.

Change Pivot Item With Named Reference

I'm trying to create code where a user can input criteria into a cell then run a macro. The macro would then use that criteria to filter the pivot table. I have attached an example. The first portion, using date to filter the current page - pivot item is working. I need to creating the code to use the "supplier" to filter the pivot items on the row. As a note, both the Date and Supplier cells are named references.

Select Listbox Item Without Triggering Change Event

I have a Multi-Select Active-X Control Listbox and an associated Button. I am trying to create a dynamic Select ALL, Clear All Button. Clear All Function Works, but Select All triggers the Change Event for the Listbox.

figuring out a way to either

1. Disable the Change event until the "Select all" loop is completed or

2. Find a way to write the action for the Button directly, such that the click event is programmed as part of the Change event, and everything is done in one.

Stale Pivot Item Values After Query Change

I have a spreadsheet with a pivot table that is based on a table within an SQL Server database. Every month a stored procedure is run creating a new table. Using the pivot table wizard I can modify the underlying query to access the new table. The pivot table functions properly with the new data.

I also have a macro that I created that will cycle through all the combinations of page field pivot item values, setting the page field currentpage, do some calculations, and save the results.

This is bombing because it seems that some old date values from the previous month's table are still in the pivot items and when my macro attempts to set the page field's currentpage to one of these values it generates Run-time error '1004' Unable to set the _Default property of the PivotItem class.

I have tried putting a pivotcache.refresh in but that doesn't seem to help.

Question: Is it also possible to enable a user to click to select an item in ListBox1 and ListBox2 item is also selected simultaneously (same row in index). Is there excel vb code to do this?

I think the code may be along the lines of the ListBox SelectedIndex property. What would be the Excel VB code equivilant for the ListBox SelectedIndex property, if so?

Flag Item When Doesn't Match Item Above

I need some way that can identify when the item in the description column doesnt match the first item of the same number- for example, here the 1-blue and 3-orange would be flagged because they should match the 1-yellow and 3-green.

I need to do this on a much larger scale (approximately 20,000 data points), so I wanted to create a formula or macro that could do this for me.. I thought making a reference page with would work but I keep getting an error.. I haven't done VBA in a while, so I may have syntax errors.

Selecting Item In Combobox - Item Not Get Selected

I am getting close to finishing the drop down menu capability when filling in column L in tab Transactions. However, there is a snag. When I enter part of account say "fin" (the important part here is that the part of the word should not be the beginning of the account name) - then I select an account from the menu - but it does not stay in the cell if the part of the name is the beginning of the account name - all is fine.

SUMIF And LOOP Till The Last Row

How would one go about creating a macro that would sum values in column G based on a condition in F ( a "SUMIF" basically) until the end of the range?

The condition would be so that the first blank cell in Column G (starting from column G9 ie Range("G9").End(xlDown).Offset(1,0) would contain the sum of everything above up until the word "Total" (or even the string of 5 characters from the left say "Total") appear in Column F - (the word Total appears a few times in column F, so it should detect the first applicable one)

The idea would be to have this repeated / looped until the end of the data range

Attached is an example and I hope what I have written makes sense

As for the worksheets:

"Final" is what it should look like (Blue Cells represent manual calculations)

"Working" Sheet is where I have it up to now

The sheet "Original" has a button that recreates everything up until where "Working" Sheet is

Sheet ("Tenant History Schedule") is scrap sheet

Now I like to copy the header over it till the last column that contains data.

If I used the recorded VBA the range is stated in letters (In the sample below column K but this can be any column).

What is the best way to code it in such a way that one gets the headers till the last column used?

Lookup Not Working Till Saved

I have a problem with a very simple Lookup (please see attached). When I copy/drag down the dropdowns in column A and the Lookup formula in column B, the lookup up does not recognise the value in column A till I save the sheet. The same if I select a different value from the dropdown i.e. the lookup only works when I save the sheet. Am using the wrong Function to do this or it something else.

I've uploaded my spreadsheet. I asked my professor if our formula had to take into account whether or not our payment would be changing. As long as I calculated the initial amount - which worked out to be around 30 dollars, I could assume I paid that amount for the entirety.

My latest Mastercard statement shows a balance due of $1,696.96.

Based on recent bills, assume that the minimum payment amount is computed as follows

(balance_owed)*(annual_interest_rate/12) * 2, then rounded to the nearest whole dollar amount.

The minimum payment amount is the amount calculated above or $25.00, whichever is the greater amount.

The annual interest rate for purchases is 11.24%. If I make no more purchases and always pay my bill on time how many years and months will it take be pay it off at the current minimum payment amount each month?

How much total interest would I pay if I repay the loan this way?

What fixed monthly payment amount would pay off the debt in 2 years?

Assume monthly compounding of interest. All calculations are to be done in the Excel worksheet.

The functions NPER() and PMT() will be useful. Note that either the Present Value or Payment amount should be negative (not both) because of conventions concerning the direction of cash flow."

VBA Dynamic Range Till First Blank But Cells Contain Formula?

I've normally just dynamically selected a range using the xldown feature but because this row contains formula it goes always down to the bottom of the formula instead of the last cell which isn't blank.

How would i go about generating this dynamic range that stops at the first cell that contains no value (but has a formula)? Perhaps a do while loop which looped down until it hit the first blank and then assigned the cells it had looped through as the range?

but i need to select first cell in every 20th column and then execute autofill till the last row that excel provides. I can only do this manually but I have for now 125 columns to fill or to write some monstrous code. Unfortunately I do not have the knowledge to do this in a smart way and I guess there is an elegant way to solve this problem.
