Adding Option To Cancel Macro With MsgBox?
Feb 20, 2014
The below code works well. However I would like to give the users an option to opt out of running the code when the message box appears.
Code:
Sub delete_sheets()
Beep
MsgBox "This will delete All Sheets but the active sheet"
*****this is where I would like to use an additional message box or include it in the above message box an option for the user to cancel this code****
Range("XA1") = ActiveSheet.Name
ActiveSheet.Name = ("Delete_Sheets")
Dim ws As Worksheet
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
For Each ws In Worksheets
If Not ws.Name = "Delete_Sheets" Then ws.Delete
Next ws
[code]....

I've created a routine that starts with a message box saying the following:
"Please Confirm 'DTmacTest.xls' is the ONLY open Excel workbook"
So I have an "OK" button and a "Cancel" button.
but no matter which one I press, it runs the routine.
How do I assign the cancel button to stop the routine when it's pressed?

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
MsgBox "Insert Text Here" , vbOKCancel
End Sub
What I would like to do is have a MsgBox open up that states this file is confidential and you click 'I Agree' button, or a cancel "I Decline"
I do not want the spreadsheet to be visible until they click on 'I Agree' button, and then if they click cancel, the Excel closes.
This is not a huge security issue, just a reminder for the Top Brass not to email out the file. This is for looks and show only

I have a COUNTIFS function that, among other criteria, only counts cells in which the value is "P". I now want to modify this function to count cells in which the value is "LA" in addition to cells in which the value is "P". I'm not sure how to work this into the argument. I tried using OR("P","LA"), but that's not working.

I have a named range on a hidden sheet which populates data validation lists on 'sheet 1, cells b5-b55. My question is this...Is it possible to, upon entering a new item in b5 (for example), to have that item automatically added to the named range? (preferably through a button on a pop up form that opens w/ the question 'would you like to add to the list?, similar to an access form)...I've seen one example in the past which I found with a link from this site, but couldn't make it work. If the answer to my question is yes, could you also suggest a location of an example if you know of one?

I have a userform with 5 listboxes on the first page, each with multiple options. They are all set up so any number of options can be chosen.
2 are populated by the 'add item' method, and the other 3 pull data from 3 columns of the database when it's initialised to ensure all possible options are included.
My question is this - as there may be many options in each listbox to scroll through, if someone wanted to search on all the options in the listbox, it would be easier to have a 'Select All' option at the top, but I have no idea if this is possible, let alone how to do this -

I have a Macro that opens numerous excel files.
What code do I require to cancel the startup message?
ie. The message that displays "Disable / Enable Macros" (security setting cannot be changed, so message is always displayed).
Plus I then have some startup message boxes which I manually click OK to continue, but how do I cancel this messages using VBA Code?

I'm using Excel 2002 on and XP machine. I am creating a spreadsheet to track a work plan.
Column A: Name
Column B: Date
Column C: Time
Column D: YES
Column E: No
Column F: New Date
Column G: New Time
What I'm looking to do is input click able buttons in Columns D: Yes and Column E: No.
When a user clicks on YES, a pop up window should appear with the data in columns A,B,C.
The p0p-up should contain CONFIRM and CANCEL buttons.
Asking the user if they want to confirm the date and Time.
If CONFIRM is clicked Excel should then send an email to me and the user to say that the work schedule has been confirmed.
If CANCEL is clicked the pop-up window closes.
Secondly if the user clicks NO, a pop-up window should open with two free text boxes. One for Proposed date and One for Proposed time. And again 2 buttons for Confirm and Cancel.
If Confirm is clicked then Excel should record the data entered in the free text boxes into Column G and Column H and send emails to me and the user with the Proposed date and Time Data.
If CANCEL is clicked the pop-up window closes.

I have a real simple question about what command to enter in order to stop a macro. All the macro does is "press the F9 key" every second. I use a button to start the loop but I am unable to find a way to use another button to stop the process. Ive copied my macro below:
Sub Go()
Calculate
Application .OnTime Now + TimeValue("00:00:01"), "Go"
End Sub
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() "Go Button"
Application.OnTime Now + TimeValue("00:00:01"), "Go"
End Sub
Private Sub CommandButton2_Click() "Stop Button"
'????????????????????????
End Sub

I would choose to select the delete button. I've created a new worksheet within a workbook, insert text and formatting, and copied to a specific place in the active worksheet. Everything works well except 1. there is a LOT of coding because I recorded the macro and 2. the delete message pops up for every files the macro manipulates. I have to click "delete" about 60 times throughout this macro and would love to be able to let it click its own delete button!

I have written some very basic code to format a report in excel. When I run the code it take a very long time to execute and I receive the following error message at the foot of the page:
Cell (press esc to cancel)
Annoyingly I have had this error before and found the solution on the web but can't remember where. If memory serves my right I deleted some temp files from a specific location on my hard drive?

I have a userform with a command button which fires a macro.
everything works fine so far.
my problem is:
I would like to add a msgbox at the end of the macro which confirmes "successfully completed".
I cannnot simply add the msgbox at the end of the macro. don't know what I'm doing wrong.
(see below)
Private Sub CommandButtonOK_Click().
If Me.OptionButton1.Value = True Then
ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("PropertyWorksheet").Range("A1").Value = "Government Securities"
ElseIf Me.OptionButton2.Value = True Then
ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("PropertyWorksheet").Range("A1").Value = "Corporate Bonds"
[Code].....
Unload Me
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Sheets("MySheet1").Select
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
'run macro
MyMacro1 (adds, hides and deletes various sheets)

I have a workbook with two macros that the user can run individually. They unfortunately take a fair amount of time to complete (approx 1 hour each) so I implemented some timing related code that at the end of the macro completion, it notifies them with a msgBox indicating how long it took to run. With that said, I would like to allow the user to run a macro that simply calls the other two so that they can kick it off at the end of the day and they both will be finished by morning. I created a new macro that simply makes a call to each of the other macros individually. The problem is, my msgBox that displays after the first macro completes, waits for "OK" acknowledgement which defeats the whole purpose of being able to run them both via one macro. I have tried to include Application.DisplayAlerts = False prior to calling the first macro but it is not working. Here is an example of what I am trying to do.
Sub runAllMacros()
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
Call compileBookData
Call compileLaborData
Application.DisplayAlerts = True
MsgBox "All Rollup Macros have completed execution."

Code to have a button perform two macros?
I need the button to
1. Calculate (perform F9 manual calculation)
2. Display a msgbox (MsgBox "Enter a city or zip code to calculate mileage.", vbExclamation, "Travel Schedule")
Is there an operator that lets you string multiple macros or do they need to be recorded separately and recalled in one macro assigned to the button?

I am writing a macro for people at work to use to automatically vlook-up data from another spreadsheet.
I wanted to base it along the use of a msgbox as they are not the most tech-savy people.
I want the msgbox dialogue to go something like this -
Which spreadsheet do you want to pull in data from?
The user browses to the file they want
Which columns do you want to transfer?
The user types in the columns
Which columns do you want them pasted to (in new sheet)?
The user types in the columns they want to paste to
and then macro does the vlook-up.

End If
Next W
MsgBox "Abrir apenas a Origem a actualizar, que deverá ser obrigatoriamente do mês corrente ou do anterior", _
