View 14 RepliesI have a word, for example ROCK. I asigned numbers to the word. R=1,O=2,C=3,K=4. My Question: If I type in ROC it must return 123. If I type in KR it must return 41, etc. Is there a basic formula I can use to solve this?

If the serial numbers go in sequence, it would have been easy.
But the problem is, they don't.
They go from A1 - A9, B1 - B10, C1 - C10 ....
Is there a way I can assign an array to ensure that once the macro hits A9, it starts from B1, and once it hits B10, start from C1?
So I have
BI Raw:..... 500.....480.....570.....540.....480
TI Raw:........88.......80.......51.......22.....122
BI Rank:........3.........4.........1.........2........5
TI Rank:........2..........3........4.........5........1
The Raw rows are calculated then each given a rank. the highest is 1.
In case of a tie in the BI Raw then the lower TI Raw wins.
Also there can be up to 15 numbers in the row
So how would i assign the Rank either using a cell formula or VBA code?
I have some excel sheets that are formatted like the following:

My question is that I would like to have a macro that runs on this basic file and creates a bar graph with the data. Then it utilizes the RGB values in the columns to change the specific bar for that row. So setting the r, g, b as variables corresponding to the columns in the sheet. Also there isn't a preset number of rows in the files.

*I have my document ordered hierarchically with group functions.
*Aesthetically I would like to have the font size get smaller the more levels into grouping they are.
*For aesthetic reasons I have merged cells rendering auto-fit useless as it auto-adjust to the first column's font size even if it has no characters in it
I find myself contemplating manually adjusting all 500 some rows of data.. probably by selecting ranges with ctrl or shift clicking my way through the document, grabbing ranges based on how high their grouping is, and adjusting the whole selected group at once, so they all have a uniform height setting.
Can I do some kind of conditional formating based on group level? like all group level 7 rows have a row height of X.
The format of the text in which I need to extract numbers is as follows:

These numbers have to be listed in three seperate rows.

The last column is the one that dictates when a new range of numbers start. There should be one range of numbers for Rose, One range for Blossom etc.
I want to delete rows in whole list and numbers of rows to be deleted I have in for example C column. How to do it?

I have 3 columns and 200 rows. The first column is for Name of product. 2nd column for number and 3rd for $value of number of products. Have 200 rows. Have done a sort and checked. 2 sets of rows are for the same product name. View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to assign a value to a row so I can enter different quantities in a cell in that row, and then sum the total of multiple rows.
Example;
I want to add up c3-c10, d3-d10, e3-e10. I want to make row3=$4, row4=$5, row5=$6 etc.
So c3, d3, e3, f3 cells will have different totals ex; I type 10 in c3, 12 in d3 and 15 in e3... but they are values of $4, so
When I sum up a column c3 will actually represent $40, c4=$48, e3=$60 and so on.
Another example;
row3=$4 and row4=$5
i type 10 in c3, and type 5 in c4.
the sum of c3 and c4 = $65
How I assign a value to a row?
In cell A50, i have pasted about 40 numbers into that cell.ive done this throughout the workbook for visibility purposes. I have 329 rows with something in the A column, but I really need to get a count of how many "somethings" exist. Is there a way to make that happen as-is? If not, is there a way to break up the numbers so they assume their own row?

These numbers are just numbers representing project number. I would have numbers only the format shown above or else a blank cell. I need to count the rows that have numbers in them. If i use count, it counts and displays only the number of rows that are similar to 3110 format but totally excludes cells with 4789 / 22465 format. I've been doing a very simple table for my father's bass club. The club has one tournament a month and the 2 lowest weights are dropped. The table has a column of names on the left hand side, beside the name is 12 columns for one weight per month, right of that is a sum of the fisherman's catch weight in column O and to the far right is an equation that removes the 2 lowest weights =O4-(SMALL(C4:N4,1)+SMALL(C4:N4,2))
In the past I have put a 0 if someone didn't fish. He has asked me if it's possible to put DNF for Did Not Fish in lieu of a 0. This way they have that information and know how many people fished and caught nothing versus how many didn't fish. I need to know how to assign DNF a value of 0 for the whole table so that I can still drop the 2 lowest weights

For those rows which have identical ID numbers, I need to fill those rows with some unique shade of color. If you look at the next sheet, I have manually colored the rows & that is my desired outcome. The shade of color does not matter. It just needs to be unique for each ID.

I am working with a file where I have to clear all the rows where the numbers match. Lets say if there is a row in which /in the amount column/ there is a number: 53 and have another row where /in the amount column/ the number is -53 I can match these two rows and put them to a new sheet. So what I would like to have is something which sorts out all the rows in which the amounts can be matched out. Like 53 and -53, 23587 and -23587, 98 and -98. I have 4 Columns. Column A has a master list of inventory numbers(about 3000 of them). Column B has dollar figures associated with them. Column C has some inventory numbers in it(800 of them), all of which are also in the master list in Column A. Column D has dollar figures that are associated with the inventory numbers in Column C.
My question is how can I make it so that if an inventory number in Column C equals one in Column A that the dollar figure associated with the inventory number in Column C gets put into its own column on the same row as the inventory number it was equal to in Column A.
I've tried basic IF functions and I can't get it to work because the inventory numbers aren't lined up on the same row. So one may be on row 300 but the other maybe located in row 12. Maybe if a double sort was possible or if someone knows how to make the row in the IF statement a variable.
I currently have an array that is 6 columns by 7 rows that is populated by referencing other workbooks and returning the sum of their values. For issue tracking revison etc... I would like to have the rows incrementally numbered (0,1,2... until it reaches number "X" which is a grand total in one of the fields.
This would happen for column 1 row 1 all the way through column 6 row 7 and fields with 0 as a total don't get a number or can have a 0 or blank.
Ex.

I would like this to be something somewhat automatic to eliminate the redundancy of having to manually perform this task.
