Auto Adding To A Cell?

Is it possible to have the following simple formula =D3-D13 with the answer in D20, this works fine but I also want D20 to be amended if, say D9 has a number added to it. For example, if the answer to my formula is 20 (in D20) and I then want it to change to 25 by putting 5 into D9. How can it be done?

look at the script im running in the attached spreadsheet. It auto generates an email to the email address in c so long as column H has a yes in it. However there are things i would like to change. I would like it to say: contact xxx to discuss your outstanding resource center loan titled: {then put the title of the load in here - column E} which was due back on {then put due back date here column G}.

Adding A Row In One Sheet Will Auto Add To Another

I am currently working with a very detailed cost sheet that I have created in excel. To keep this description short... I ran out of columns after 6 months and had to create a new tab for the next 6 months. Basically, I have copied and pasted the first six months to the new tab and QC'd all the formulas and all that.. What I am foreseeing happen, as I've seen this in the past, is this cost sheet is a dynamic thing that will require the addition of rows for more line items.

My question is this, is there a way to "link" the two tabs so that if I added a row to the one sheet, it will automatically add a row to the 'linked' sheet in the exact same position with the same formatting?

The top code is to change all singular small letters to caps... and the second is to bring up an "enter hyperlink" box when "Y" is typed into a particular cell...

Trying to get a record of who authorized spending in one of my worksheets and when they did it

I had some VBA code in one of my worksheets which added a time stamp and a user ID to two different cells after the user enters their name. Why it is no longer working, though I suspect after moving the worksheet around.

I would like my users to type their name into cell G65 (which is actually merged from G65-K65). Once the user enters their name, cell L65 (which is actually merged L65-O65) populates with the current time stamp. Also, when the user enters their name into cell G65, I would like cell P65 (which is actually merged into P65-S65) to auto populate. I would like this all of this to go down through line 70.

I have values in a number of cells. Next to them, if there was a value, regardless of what the value is, except blank or zero, i would like the cell to turn blue and if possible have a 1 in the cell.

I've used the conditional formatting, however, among the options, 'less than' is the closest to to getting the color right. The issue is that if the cell has nothing in it, it still colors the corresponding cell blue; because it is not less than the already blank cell. If it is blank, I don't want it to color the cell.

First I would like to say that I am not English nor very good to explain myself so hope the title is according to the forums rules. Now to my problem

I would like to to put in for instance the number 100 in cell A and then the number should appear in cell B. I would like to remove the number in cell A without the number in cell B to dissapear. Then add for instance 50 in cell A to get the number in cell B to add up to 150 and so on. How can I do this? I would like to add that cell B is already connected to a different cell. And I am using Vista.

Excel 2007 :: How To Copy A Cell Without Auto-adjustment Of Fix Cell References

Assume I have a cell M24 with a formula like

=M10 + $H24 - $I24*0.35

As you can see B10 is a fix reference (due to omitted $) which should NOT be auto-adjusted but be kept.

Now I want to copy the formular to lots of cells below cell M24. therefore I mark cell M24 and click copy in context menu.

Then I drag/expand the blinking cell border to lets say the 20 cells below. As I result I expect e.g. in cell M25 a formula like

=M10 + $H25 - $I25*0.35

Unfortunately I got

=M11 + $H25 - $I25*0.35

So the fix reference is adjusted as well.

How can I tell Excel 2007 to NOT auto-adjust fix references in formulas?

Excel 2007 :: Clicking On Cell Auto-selects Cell Next To It - Cannot Disable

Whenever she clicks on a cell, the cell to the right of it is also selected. When she tries using tab to move to a new cell, she can only move between the two selected cells. Same with using the enter key. As such, it is extremely difficult for her to modify only one cell, since she always has two selected.

The F8 key, as well as Ctrl+F8. However, pressing the F8 key only adds more cells to the autoselection, and Ctrl+F8 allows her to select one cell, but also highlights the cells around it, and when we tried to select other cells, every cell we clicked stayed highlighted.

Additionally, sometimes when she clicks a cell, it will just select that one cell. Click it again, and the problem is back. I haven't been able to determine any patterns to this behavior, and I know there is no problem with the input (the keyboard and mouse are standard-issue in our lab, and we keep them well maintained).

Auto Fill Formula Every Nth Cell And Lookup Value Every Nth Cell In Source?

Source tab contains vital information about some clients.

In the aggregated tab (Cell C10) I created a formula that pulls the Inflows from the source in a very specific array. So for client 1, this works fine. Now, if i copy my formula to the client 2 (Cell C14), it obviously wont go and look in the correct array in my source.

What i need to do is to be able to copy/paste my formula

[Code].....

(from cells C10 to CC10) to cells C14 to CC14, but when copied, the look up array changes to:

Formula: [Code] ....

I will have to fill this formula to at least 100 entries down, so i need to make it work with ease

The good thing is that all look up values in the source increase by a fixed number of rows (12). I tried playing with index/rows formula.. no luck..

Auto Increment Specific Cell Value Based On Different But Related Cell Value

In my excel workbook, I have a customer table and invoice sheet among many others.

As part of my system, there is functionality to grant new customers with a discount on the first purchase. Within my customer table, the last two columns are "Number of Purchases" and "Customer Type" (either single/multiple depending on no. of purchases), which are then used to determine whether the discount is valid or not on the invoice.

Once an invoice has been created, archived and refreshed with the customer selected (via a Customer ID), I would like some code to auto increment the number of purchases on the Customer table for that specific customer to +1.

For example, customer called Bob (Bob-1);
Number of purchases = 1
Customer Type = Single
Discount = Yes

Invoice then created for Bob (using Bob-1 as the unique value), sent off and refreshed. New figures should be:

Number of purchases = 2
Customer Type = Multiple (can be achieved by using IF statement on No. of purchases)
Discount = No

So i was asked to do a spreadsheet for "counting" electrical items from a project. For instance, quantity of cables, cable trays, electrical equipment, etc.

One of the sheets is called "Cables" and is structured in a database form, i mean, the first row contains the name of the columns (fields) and from the second row will be the records (much like a table in Excel).

One of this columns has to be calculated, for example, Qty (B3) * Measured (C3) = Subtotal (D3). If i put the formula in the whole column filling D:D the size of the excel file grows up to 10 mbs. So to keep the size small, I want Excel to introduce this formula only if it can find a value in Qty (B3).

Is liking adding records in Access, the table should grow with each row completed. We cannot use access, it has to be something the team can handle (they know a bit of Word and Excel, nothing else).

I have a spreadsheet with two columns and 39900 rows, from that data I want to create two new columns so cell C1 = A143 and D1 = B143, C2=A286, D1=B286, and so on. The row location increases by 143.

The simplest thing I tried to do was to say C1=A1+142, but (knowing it is wrong) I get a #value error.

How can I tell excel to grab these values located every 144 rows below and create two new columns?

2 Different worksheets to work with

The "Nursery" Worksheet
I already have code that puts the Auto-Sum amount below the last data row in the column named "Nursery Grand Total" in the Nursery Worksheet.

This Auto-Sum amount, however, will always be in a different row because the amount of rows generated from the report is always different as well, therefore, the Auto-Sum cell/row changes with that to be right below the last data row in the "Nursery Grand Total" Column.

I would like to copy (values only) the amount from this dynamically changing Auto-Sum cell and paste it into another worksheet named "Totals".

The "Totals" Worksheet
In my "Totals" worksheet, I have two columns.
"Master Total Description" and "Master Grand Totals".

In the "Master Total Description" column, I have a cell named "Nursery Grand Total" which is exactly the same name as the header row in the "Nursery" worksheet.

So,

In the "Nursery" worksheet/"Nursery Grand Total" column, I would like to copy the auto-sum amount

and paste it into....

the "Totals" worksheet/"Nursery Grand Total" row/"Master Grand Totals" column

I still can't display spreadsheet so I'll try my best to explain.

In any given cell I would like to enter different amounts and have it add as amounts are entered let's say in cell C13 I put $1000.00 then tommorrow I enter another $1000.00 this should then be $2000.00.

When I put the formula =sum(C13) it tells me something about circular reference within same cell.

Here is the Scenario what I am into.

Row 1 Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4 Col5 Col6 Total
Row 2 10 "A" 19 "A" 13 "A" 42
Row 3 1 "A" 9 "B" 10 "A" 11

I was trying to have a formula which would add all values in the total column of that row whose adjacent cell has "A" in it . I am not sure if I am clear enough in my explanation but my example above is more clear want I meant .

I tried posting the same post earlier but I guess I was able to explain the same . I was trying to put the formula which will give the total column with a value in which it all gives addition of those values who's adjacent cell as "A" in it in the row .
