I have a worksheet which contains START TIME in column A, then TIME USAGE in column B and END TIME in column C. User enters start time, followed by the number of time usage in minutes, how could i possibly display the end time automatically in this scenario? how do you add the entered time usage to the start time to display the end time? Say if I enter 1:00 AM at start time and 00:15 minutes on time usage, how can 1:15 AM be displayed on the end time automatically?

I have a protected worksheet. Users wish to be able to track changes in the input cells. The suggested approach for this is to temporarily disable sheet protection and allow them to change the font color, then protect afterwards. What I would like to do is:
i) check whether they are in an input cell
ii) if so, then prompt the user with the 'Font Color' dialog box
iii) apply the font color selected to the input cell
I'm struggling to find the dialog box I need. I can launch the one to change the interior color, no problem (Application.Dialogs(xlDialogPatterns).Show). But that's no use to me, I just want a color palette that specifically relates to the Font Color

I have been battling with this report I have been working with for sometime. Is there a way in Excel where I can automatically add zero into the time format?
The problem is I have to import data from another source and the time displays as a time format showing :59:00 insted of 0:59:00. Excel will not sum the calculation without the zero infront of the colon. This makes my report very time consuming. Can someone show me a way that I can automatcially add zero's infront when having data under 1:00:00?

I have a speadsheet with a column of student names with corresponding columns of classes and class times. The class times are on a rotating schedule and will be35 minutes later every week. Groups A to D have rotating lessons at 8.55, 9.30,10.05, 10.40 and groups E and F have rotating lessons at 11.45 and 12.20. I need to print slips with student names and class times each week. I want to be able to update the lesson time for the next week automatically. The only way I have thought to create a custom sort list with lesson times and I drag and fill series for new lesson times. However, the list doesn't return to the beginning of the series, it creates a new lesson time. My question is, is there a better way to update the lesson times?

How to set a column up to show it as the time of day but unless I enter PM after I put the time in the column it always comes up as AM.
Is there some way to just enter 9:09 in column d and or f and have it show up as pm? When I enter 8:10 in column b it automatically adds the AM to it but if I do the same in the column for the night and I do not type in pm it will automatically enter it as am.
I have attached the workbook and did delete the macro - which was just to clear all of my entries but when I click to open it again I am still getting the message about the macro.
In the workbook when I enter the time in column B I can just type in 7:14 and it will automatically add the AM to it. However, when I get to column D or F if I just type in 9:09 or whatever time it is in the evening it will automatically add AM to it unless I type 9:09 pm.
Is there some way to set it up so that I can just enter the time and it will automatically enter pm for everything in that column?

I am trying to automatically insert a time into B and a date into A every time something is entered into C. I want the time and date to not change from the time it was posted. What formula will accomplish this?
I tried using if(C"",now(),"") while having Workbook Calculation set to automatic, but it would update every cell in column B every time I entered data into a new cell in column C.

I have a set of 3,000 data points. The data is in one second intervals, however I am interested in seeing what the data looks like in a graph if I only had a point every minute. I have the following set up.
A B C
TIME X Y
What I want to do is to leave the first cell unhidden, and then hide the next 59. And then repeat this so I narrow the data down to one second each. I'm looking to do this multiple times, so I can create a graph each time in order to get an idea of what the data would look like if I only had a point for every minute.
Is there a macro that I could write, that would hide every cell except every 60th one? I was thinking that I could hide it based on the time. What would the code look like if my time was in 00:00:00 format? It's increasing, so I need it to hide cells that aren't equal to XX:XX:01, for example.

Macro that would insert multiple pictures at once into one column with two rows per page (so that only two pictures are on each page) for word?
If so, would there also be a way to make it to were photos would have a caption box underneath each photo that list them as "Photo #1: Photo #2: Photo#3:" ect...
I know this is quite a task to achieve but I'm still relatively new to Macros and VBA and have a ton of pictures to integrate into Word for work.

I have the following code in a simple userform containing only a label:
Private Declare Sub Sleep Lib "kernel32" (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long)
Private Sub UserForm_Activate()
DoEvents
Sleep 4000
Unload Me
End Sub
When I invoke this as a single macro in a blank workbook and immediately change focus by pressing ALT+TAB to enter NotePad the userform is shown and exits normally after 4 seconds.
However, when I issue this code from within a larger macro, and hit ALT+TAB to Notepad, the excel application hangs on the displayed userform until I click back into Excel.
If required, I can happily send you the code as an attachment.

I work in a sales team, and am currently planning the new year of sales spreadsheets (tracking prospects and orders) These spreadsheets are linked in both directions to the Sales Director's summary spreadsheet (so that she can set the targets, and also provide a summary to the MD). She has asked me whether it is possible to put a formula in that gives the date each line (1 line = 1 prospect) was updated (so that she can see whether information in the line is current / a week old / a month old etc)
Effectively, what I need is in column A a formula which references columns B-Q and if any of those change, puts in the date of change. Is this possible, or am I going to have to ask the sales guys to do it manually? I have tried to use the =Now() function, but, because the spreadsheets are linked, and auto-update on opening, every time the spreadsheet is opened, each line goes to today's date.
The previous threads that I looked at suggested either: volatile time stamp in shared workbook
or
That is bad design, Enter =NOW() to a single name cell named cell and use date =MyD-T in ALL cells needing the Date & Time. Where MyD-T is the named cell. I would advise STRONGLY against using Manual Calculation as it's NOT good spreadsheet design and a mistake waiting to happen.

I have been trying to formulate a condition to fill up my timeline by checking the start and end times and date of jobs.
In my attached worksheet, I have an example (which was done manually) what I would expect the timeline to look.
[URL]...
For example,
SLIS900H has a start of 6/8/2014 11:54:05 AM and end of 6/8/2014 12:03:15 PM
As such, the TimeLine entries 06/08/14 11:00 and 06/08/14 12:00 would be shaded (or at least have some indication that it is to be shaded). After which, the Main Task from which SLIS900H belongs to (TSOH Extraction), would also have its Timeline shaded.

I have got a spreadsheet which is being used as a database. I would like the spreadsheet to close automatically if the user has not "touched" it for a specific amount of time (say 1hr).
2 scenarios:
a/ The user is working in Excel but with another workbook.
b/ The user has the excel spreadsheet open but is working with another application, say Word
I experimented with Workbook_WindowDeactivate but I do not know how to stop the process if the Workbook is reactivated (Maybe a DO ...LOOP calling a function returning a True/False statement on the event Workbook_WindowActivate !!). My way of thinking is the following
Workbook is deactivated
Start a timer
If the workbook is not reactivated with 1hr, save and close (no user intervention wanted)
Else stop timer
Repeat process

I ran a Home Service Massage, with ten massagers and it's continually growing. I know I'm supposed to use a database for this, but I'm not very good in creating one. I am however confident in using MS Excel, so in a much as possible, I only want to use MS Excel, and strictly use formulas (if I can get away with it).
Anyway, I keep customer records in one tab, and all their personal info is listed there. There are two types of columns, which I'd like to call 'static' and 'automatic'.
Static columns includes Unique ID (number), Name, Address, Phone Number, etc.
Automatic columns, by the term I used, is filled automatically. This includes the total number of hours they have availed the massage from us, the names of massagers who serviced them, --- and my biggest issue --- the date of last massage. I can manually input this, but I normally forget, so I want this filled automatically.
Aside from customer tab, I have one tab for each massager. First column is the date, then 48 columns for time. Starting from 8AM, 830AM, 9AM... 730AM. Hence I have 48 of them. Each column is equals to 30mins of massage availed. I copy and paste the Unique ID from customer tab.
so A2:A32 are dates, and B2:BC50 is where I copy paste the unique ID. B1:BC1 are time labes.
Is it possible for me, just by using formulas, to populate the 'last massage date' column?
