Border Around Range To Form Shape

Apr 12, 2008

For my university coursework I've created a comprehensive building cost model but I'm struggling with one aspect, copying the plotted ground floor footprint to enable floor finishes to be selected. A user can plot shapes in a 50x50 grid (B2:AY51). The shapes are displayed using conditional formatting. All shapes are conditionally formatted red, i.e. colour index 3. I wish to place a border around the plotted shapes, so that I can then copy the outline to a new tab. e.g. Range B2:AY51, If cell conditonally formatted red then place borders to the sides of the that cell that share a boundary with a non-conditonally formatted red cell.

Modify Free-form Shape Coordinates

Feb 21, 2008

Right now I'm modifying a figure based on size data in an excel table.

I'm modifying the X/Y coordinates of the points of the freeform shape with VBA, however, I have to use absolute x,y coordinates.

I'd like to be able to move the shapes throughout the sheet. With fixed coordinates, this makes it difficult. I'm hoping there's an easy way to it

Copy/Paste Range To Different Size/Shape Range

Mar 3, 2008

I have the following code that let's the user choose and " import" data to an existing sheet. It works well up until now. The problem is that the three ranges that I am trying to copy the data from on workbook to another has changed size. In previous version of my workbooks the range was two columns by 10 rows. Now, it is 1 column by 10 rows. So, when I run this macro it doesn't work because the two ranges are different. Is there any way to:
1) Only copy over one of the rows of a range thus making the macro run?

2) Do not run that part of the macro if there is an error?

Thanks so much for reading this long-winded description but the error is a big problem

Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()

Import_Data_Form.Hide

Run "UnProtectAll"

Set b = Selection
ad = b.Address

Border Last Range Of Cells

Aug 3, 2008

I am trying to have a border drawn around a group of cells. This group of cells changes per list I make, but only the height changes. The width is always the same (from column A to column J) and the top is always at row 5. Only the last row changes. How can a border be drawn around this group of cells no matter the size of the group of cells? Below is the macro I have written so far.

Cells.Select
Cells.EntireColumn.AutoFit
ActiveWindow.SmallScroll ToRight:=7
Columns("K:N").Select
Selection.ClearContents
ActiveWindow.SmallScroll ToRight:=-7
Range("A2").Select
Rows("2:2").RowHeight = 49.5
lastrow1 = Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Select
Range("A5:J" & lastrow1).BorderAround.Weight = xlThin
lastrow2 = Cells(Cells.Rows.Count, "C").End(xlUp).Row
For I = lastrow2 To 2 Step -1..........................

Locate A Shape Within A Shape

Jan 24, 2014

On the attached spreadsheet there is two irregular shapes. "Area1" & "Area2". I need to be able to determine which area the "ball" shape is located in. If the ball is in Area1 then "Multiply 8" gets the ball and "Multiply 9" moves to the blue cell "AH39". If the ball is in "AreaB" Multiply 9 gets the ball and "Multiply 8" runs to cell "S37"

I should be able to do the moving of the shapes using all the samples, its determining which area the ball is in is the problem.

In the real spreadsheet i will probably have around 10 different Areas.

Sheets("SelectData").Range("A1:D146").SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible)

Moved Workbooks To Folders Now User Form Subsript Out Of Range

May 19, 2008

I have this placed on a sharepoint and want to move the files into specific folders (folder1/workbook1, folder2/workbook2 etc.) so I can set them as view only folders to stop unuathorised editing.

I am now getting a "Subscript out of range" error after doing a search. I can see it's a problem with the file name as it's pulling it from text in a cell but can't work out!

Copy Rows To New Sheet Based On Date Range Selected On A Form

May 8, 2009

This spreadsheet must perform calculations for every line since new items are added every day, so VBA is probably better than copying formulas down every line of the spreadsheet:

With the press of a button, I need to be able to select a range of dates and copy all lines within the range to a seperate sheet with the desired name under the same headings they currently reside under. I have included some modified code that is being used in another spreadsheet that was created for me, but I do not pretent to understand all of it and I no longer work with the creator of the spreadsheet. How do I use a button to open the form for date selections and entering the name of the new sheet, and then use the start button on the form to begin the matching and copying to a new sheet? If there is an easier way I am all for that too.

Also, I need to keep a total of all items by month as well as a monthly and annual average of the Total Item Value on the FY09 tab. This will eventually produce another sheet when a button is pressed to submit as a report. I think part of this answer is in using the MONTH(serial_number) function but I can only get this to work for a single cell. I need to search the entire Distribution 'D' column, match all the months to the FY09 tab to the respective month, and calculate the totals and averages. I think SUMIF may also be needed as well but need the MONTH(serial_number)to work first. If there is a way to code all of this in VBA that would be fine as well.

I have a pivot table on Sheet1 where I am trying to get the totals and averages described above but I am not sure it can do what I need. In column 'B' I need the total number of each item as well as the total number of all items. I tried various formats and adding the totals from the Totals tab but I have not figured it out.

Auto-Populate Order Form From Storeroom Count Form

Jun 17, 2014

I have a spreadsheet I use to keep track of weekly sales patterns and use for estimating the amount of a product I would need to order taking into account what I would expect to sell in a given week and what stock I have at present. On the example I've attached, I show where I enter my storeroom count figures, which are organised by supplier and the position in which a particular product appears on the supplier's order form. I have a page which lists the orders by suppliers and which are used to place the orders by e-mail or telephone.

At present I have each supplier section of the order form directly linked to a cell on the storeroom count as per columns K to M on the attached file. However, this means that as products are de-listed by suppliers and extra products become available, I have to edit the formula in each cell as the products now appear in a different position on the storeroom count and may otherwise end up on the order form for a different supplier. I would like to set it up so that I just have to select the supplier name and the table below will automatically fill with the required info, in order of the position they appear on the supplier's form. I'm struggling to combine vlookup and hlookup. Is there a way to do it or do I need to rethink?
