Button To Reset Combos And Other Cells

I have a spreadsheet with 4 combo boxes and 2 cells that I need reset to a specific value when a button is clicked (the top value for the combo boxes, the function [today()] for one cell, and a specific date for the other). I figured I would put the function and the specific date in seperate hidden cells and the button would link to them, but whatever way gets the job done will work. I know I'll need to code this in VB, but as well as I know excel i've never played with basic before.

I'm just finishing a project that is a collection of three calculators, each of which returns data based on a series of user-supplied variables. All the mechanics are working [thanks in part to replies to previous posts], but there is one more thing I'd like to add:

Does anyone have a way to clear the contents of another cell [actually several] cells via another cell? As the most complex calculator requires eight variables to be entered, I'd like to provide a quick way [a button?] to "clear" or "reset" the calculator - basically wipe all unlocked cells. I should note that all of the cells in question already have Data Validation of one type or another.

I've included the code I'm using to calculate the net weight depending on which option button is selected. I use a flag ("VLAG") to know whether it's the first time the button is pressed. All variables are DIMmed at initialization (different sub).

By using other flags, I can see the code runs perfectly, but the tare weight ("TARRA") is not incremented each time the button is pressed. The formula I'm using to increment is

I want to add a secondary function to these buttons; this is a necessary function for every order, so I want to make it necessary to click one of the buttons for every order. One way to do this would be to leave the button unchecked.

How could the button be set to leave itself unchecked after being clicked on?

LookUp Reset Button Anomaly

I have a Lookup that updates name from a list.

D2 =IF(LOOKUP($A$2,B:B,C:C)=",",LOOKUP($A$2,B:B,C:C)) - this Works fine

Say A2=3
C1= Name1
C2= Name2
C3= Name3

Also a macros that if D2 is typed over you can re-insert the LookUp.

The Weird thing is that in stead of putting the value from the LookUp it paste the formula
=IF(LOOKUP(R2C1,C[-2],C[-1])=",",LOOKUP(R2C1,C[-2],C[-1])) like it was text

I have used the reset on a number of numeric equations no problem, but not on a LookUp one. I've tried changing the format of the cell, but not successfully.

Macro/command Button To Reset All Filters In Pivot Table

I have a pivot table with over 4000 entries and about 12 columns which i filter to get the info i want.

Unfortunately with so many rows and columns in the table, if i do a macro that gets each filter back to 'show all' its really slow.

Doing this manually using the "Show all" option in the filter takes a fraction of a second, so surely there must be a way to do this more quickly in VBA?

i can't understand why manually it takes no time at all, but automating it through recording a macro takes forever.

I have never written or used a macro before and I have a simple macro task to complete:

I have Column L (L4:L10) of seven scroll bars that move according to number changes in column F (F4:F10). I want to create a form control command button that resets the changes on the scroll bars according to static column of numbers in Column E (E4:E10).

I don't know if it matters, but I'll add that I plan to add a second button that does the same thing with a different column of data. I assume I'll simply replicate whatever procedure I use in the first button - is this okay?

Sorting Number/letter Combos

I have a spreadsheet with information in columns a-x. In column A there are part numbers like: RH630-34, PH630-343, 6-255, 16-01, 72500, There are may combinations of just numbers, and numbers first letters second, and letter first number second.
All usually seperated by a hyphen. The entire spreadsheet will be sorted by Column A first.

I need to sort them so the order would be numbers first and combo with number letters next. finish product: 6-255, 16-01, 72500, PH630-343, RH630-34. Is this possible? I have seen other posts and suggesting putting spaces before the numbers. That seems to work but in the case of 6-138 and 6-1038 the 6-1038 is first

Two Cell Accumulator Then Reset First Cells

I basically have four cells
c8 = goods in (new components in)
c9 = kanban stock (current qty in stores)
c10 = current stock (=kanban stock minus allocated)
c11 = allocated (number on order)

What I would like to be able to do is enter a figure in c8. This would then start the macro to update c9,10 and 11.

The problem I have is that if i enter a figure into c8 sure it alters the others if i do a quick =sum formula but does not reset. Therefore if I put for example 6 in cell c8 and then want to add another 8 all other cells alter accordingly. I want all cells apart from c8 to update and hold the figure after c8 has been entered.

Reset Dropdown Lists Based On Other Inputs / Cells

Trying to create a dynamic costing spreadsheet, where the user has to make multiple selections from many dropdown lists, all of which end up showing a total cost.

So far I have managed to create relatively dynamic lists, so that the choice in one cell will dictate what options are available in the next.

But if a user selects an options form all the dropdowns, and then decides to go back and modify a previous option to something else, the effected dropdown lists do not change until you click on the drop down arrow again and see the options available have changed.

Let me try and simplify...
'Menu 1' has two option: 'A' and 'B'.
If 'A' is chosen, then the next menu, 'Menu 2', will have options '1' and '2'.
If 'B' is chosen from 'Menu 1', then the options in 'Menu 2' will be '3' and '4'.
Lets say the user chose 'A' from 'Menu 1' and then '1' from 'Menu 2'... AND THEN went back and changed their choice in 'Menu 1' to 'B'....
'Menu 2' will still be displaying '1', even though the options are only '3' and '4'.

Can I make the dependant menu's either reset or blank or highlight to show that a change made somewhere else has made them currently invalid

Highlight Cells Using A Button

I am trying to use a button, that when pressed it highlights certain cells in a row

I have the following code

This works fine, but when i press the button again it clears the highlighted cells back to normal but any highlighted text etc or conditional formatting is deleted

Is there a way of returning to what was there before the first press of the button?

Just incase it is pressed accidently etc, as there will be many rows with the same button

Unlocking/Locking Cells With A Button

The process that will be used is that, I would set up the sheet every month and send it to a data entry person. Then they would send it back to me, and i would send it to certain people for approval. Once they respond with approval I then send it back to the data entry person for filing.

I'm hoping to create a button that will "flip" a switch to to speak.

When I send it to the data entry person the first time, I need certain cells locked and unlocked.

When I send it to the people for approval I need the whole thing locked as well as for when I send it back to the data entry person for filing.

I know how to do this manually, but my issue is that every time I need to send it back to the data entry person at the beginning of the month I have to go over every data entry cell and set it up so that when I lock the sheet they stay unlocked.

So that's where the button would come in...it could even be 2 buttons...Data Entry Locking and then a full Sheet Locking...I would need each password protected too.

I have created a command button, right clicked the button and selected 'View Code'. In the code window I've entered the following code:

As soon as I enter the code a message pops up:

"Compile error:

Expected: list separator or )"

Is my syntax wrong? Is the sheet name, 'IB_FB_Hedge_3 Outcome' not allowed?

When I created this code a few minutes before I was not having the 'Compile error' problem, but the Command Button was not working either. When I clicked the command button it would just show the circles at the corners, suggesting that it is still in editing mode and not properly activated as a command button.

Spin Button To Select Cells

I need some help using the spinner tool (the 2 way arrows) as a macro. I want it to point to different cells after each press. So, basically:

Click down once, go to cell A5
Click down again, now go to cell A6
Click down again, now go to cell A7
Clicking down again won't do anything, A7 is the end of the road

And the same thing backwards when clicking up.

I use the two commands SpinButton1_SpinDown() and SpinButton1_SpinUp(). I put the Range("A5").Select, etc. as the code. I don't know how to do the incremental part. I need a counter in there...
