Count Where Text Value In 1 Column & Month Of Dates Meet Condition/Criteria

May 23, 2008

need a formula to calculate the total number of x's in one column (column B, C, E are training types= x) where the corresponding column date falls within a date range. It’s to total each type of training done for each month. I have 3 training type columns and a cell that calculates the total number of trainings for the each month:=COUNTIF(F2:F100,">="&DATE(2008,2,1))-COUNTIF(F3:F200,">="&DATE(2008,2,31)).
So now I just need it broken down by training type per month. How many x's in each column for February as an example.

Use The COUNTIF Function Formula To Count The Number Of Items In Column A?

Mar 7, 2014

We have one excel file for monitoring of action items generated by the management after the study. As since there were around 3000+ rows has been generated since in the beginning of 1990's till to-date. So I was thinking of instead of getting the result through filter manually, I want to create a formula that will count of how many has been closed this year and this month out of the total numbers of action items.

Is it possible to use the COUNTIF function formula to count the number of items in column A, and date of column B, and closed in column C.

In below, we can see that there were 4 items under Revalidation has been closed this month and the total number of closed this year is 6.

That is the formula i used and it worked, yet when i try to use it for other names (where b5 would be) the numbers skew and do whatever they want..

I just want to sum all of the values in M:M which have B5 or "fiona" in columns C:C and also match the date from B:B with A2.

I believe ive done it right and as i say it does work with the first name in b5 but when i pull the formula down it doesnt work anymore...

I want to count how many cells for a specified Month/year are not equal to "N/A". I have been able get each selction criteria to work but when I try merging numeric and non-numeric queries I lose it.

The following formula was able to give me the count of cells "N/A"
=COUNTIF('Master Data'!$UA59:$ALZ59, ">0")

and this gave me a count by Month/Year
=SUMPRODUCT(--(YEAR('Master Data'!$UA3:$ALZ3)=2012),--(MONTH('Master Data'!$UA3:$ALZ3)=1))

When I tried creating one COUNTIF I was unable to get it without an error as I needed the YEAR/MONTH functions.
