Use The COUNTIF Function Formula To Count The Number Of Items In Column A?

We have one excel file for monitoring of action items generated by the management after the study. As since there were around 3000+ rows has been generated since in the beginning of 1990's till to-date. So I was thinking of instead of getting the result through filter manually, I want to create a formula that will count of how many has been closed this year and this month out of the total numbers of action items.
Is it possible to use the COUNTIF function formula to count the number of items in column A, and date of column B, and closed in column C.
In below, we can see that there were 4 items under Revalidation has been closed this month and the total number of closed this year is 6.

I'm trying to count the number of incidents in column BB that are >0 but only IF the value in column E is "Abbeywood". i.e. how many times there's a figure greater than 0 for Abbeywood. I can't seem to get count if to do this!

Is there a simpler formula I can use that combines IF and COUNT functions. CountIf, maybe?
I have, let's say, 17 items and I want to choose 5 items out of them. Each time I pick one I am told how many I have chosen. When I reach 5, I am told that I have chosen too many.

I need to count the total number of times 4 different values appear in a column. This formula works for one value:
=COUNTIFS(Source!$C:$C,$B5,Source!$J:$J,$L$3,Source!$L:$L,$H$1)
Where H1 contains the word Assigned. I need to also find and add to count for matches in I1,J1 and K1 which contain New, Pending and Work in Progress respectively.

I have two columns on sheet called back1! if a number is put in a cell from P5 down to P40 and a corrosponding number matches in K5 to K40 I want to be able to count it as 1.
So if a number is in k6 and a number is in P6 it counts as 1.
and so on down the cells.

I am trying to do a basic count in a range, however am a little brain fried and its not working. On attachment, column D is to list all times out of column A and B listing only unique entries (have tried to use Macro with advanced filter however not liking it being an extract). Column E is to be a count of how many times the break time in Column D appears.

I want to count the number of times North AND Win, North AND Lose etc.

I have attached a copy of my "budget". What i need is whenever you choose a option in A9 on PayCheck - DEC - 09 - B it will count the number of items on the right and hightlight them with a color. I use =COUNTIF('PayCheck - DEC-09-B'!E$2:E$1000,A9) in A11 to tell me the number of occurences but I would also like a visual effect with colors.

There is a list of interconnections of panels.

There are hundreds of sheets like this with more complex panel numbers (there are 70 to 80 panels). I want to count the number of times each panel is linked with another panel i.e the number of times its name is mentioned in front of it.

I am not sure how to go about this but here is my problem: text in cells a40:A147 containing card number this: -01- and cells h40:h147 containing and "x" if the card -01- is closed. Now I want to count all the -01- cards that do not have an x in the h40:h147 cells and I need to count all the -01- cards that do not have an "x" in the h40:h147 cells.

How do I setup a COUNTIF function so that it 'searches/uses' more than one column for results.
Example: I have a spreadsheet with 20 columns - starting at A1 to T1 - and ending at A100 toT100. I want to use the COUNTIF function to 'search' all of these from A1/T1 to A100/T100 and tell me how many times the number 21 appears across that range of cells.
This COUNTIF function will reference data on a sheet called 50 - so at the moment my current single colum COUNTIF looks like this -=COUNTIF('50'!A1:A100,21) - and it works fine for one colum, but I need to search 20 columns.

I'm trying to use a variation of the COUNTIF function to generate a total number of occurrences. The RANGE is a singular column on each of five tabs in a spreadsheet, but the CRITERIA (hopefully) is made up of two separate cells on one tab of the same spreadsheet. Here is the formula as I have it written:
=if(A2="","-",sum(countif('Monday-No Shows'!D:D,or("*" & A2 & "*","8),countif('Tuesday-No Shows'!D:D,"*" & A2 & "*"),countif('Wednesday-No Shows'!D:D,"*" & A2 & "*"),countif('Thursday-No Shows'!D:D,"*" & A2 & "*"),countif('Friday-No Shows'!D:D,"*" & A2 & "*")))
The purpose of this formula is to check to see how many times a student does not show up for an appointment over the course of their time with us. We have one tab with all the pertinent info on each student and I'd like to use this formula for a "No Show" column to more easily know when to cancel a student's services. The problem is that I can only get the function to search for one criteria right now. I've tried using the OR function and adding it to the current function but it always gives me 0 as the result, but if I take out the OR it returns me a higher number. Here's what it looks like with the OR added:
=if(A2="","-",sum(countif('Monday-No Shows'!D:D,or("*" & A2 & "*","*" & B2 & "*")),countif('Tuesday-No Shows'!D:D,or("*" & A2 & "*","*" & B2 & "*")),countif('Wednesday-No Shows'!D:D,or("*" & A2 & "*","*" & B2 & "*")),countif('Thursday-No Shows'!D:D,or("*" & A2 & "*","*" & B2 & "*")),countif('Friday-No Shows'!D:D,or("*" & A2 & "*","*" & B2 & "*"))))
A2 designates the students first name and B2 designates their last name. If I eliminate the OR and resort to multiple COUNTIF's, it will generate twice the number of responses that I want, I fear.

I need to write a formula in F35 that looks at C4 and if that cell has a # of 25 or greater it will then look at F4 and if that # is greater or equal to 95% it will return a count of 1 in F35. I know how to use the countif function but am stumped when I try to add in the function to look at c4 as a qualifier.
