Categorized Daily Expense To Monthly Basis

While I was working my daily expense I come up with this issue. I do eat outside while I am on work. Sometimes I go to Pizza, sometime I go to mexican etc etc. The common between them is word FOOD. I would like to modify the formula suggested by Ron Coderre
=SUMPRODUCT((TEXT($A$2:$A$14,"mmm")=$E3)*($B$2:$B$14=F$2)*$C$2:$C$14)

I've set up a simple spreadsheet to keep track of my food expenses every month. The first column is for the date, the second is for the daily total expenses and then the next three columns are where I add the data which is then calculated into the daily total column.
I also have a total at the bottom for the entire month. Now what I want to do is I want to also have underneath the grand total, a cell which keeps track of my average daily expenses. Basically I want to divide the total expenses by the number of days which I've entered data. Now normally this would be fine but because I've applied the formula to all the cells in the expense column, it automatically lists every day as "0" rather than leaving it blank. So when it does the average calculation it's dividing my total by 30 days rather than by only the 7 days I have data for.

Attached a work tracker here for your ref.
I this, We are distributing work on 6 hrs/day basis. What I need is, I need to automate the work distribution on daily basis and should show the hrs also. and the projected date of completion. (yellow highlighted cells are where the formulas are needed)

How to go about fixing my spreadsheet so I am not having to manually update it each day..here is my forumla I am currently using...=(AVERAGE($D$2:$AH$2)-C5)*AI5...basically i need the cell below in D2 to change as every day a new day rolls off..for example the following day I need this formula to be =(AVERAGE($E$2:$AH$2)-C5)*AI5 ....so just that day changes.....do I need to use an If/then statement? if so how?

In cell b5 I have =today() which automatically updates the date on a daily basis. What I would like to happen is for each day there is a new line is automatically inserted with the date so:

I would also like any information on each of the line to move down when the new line is inserted. I am not really that good with macros or VBA but feel that is the only option to solving this problem. Also would everything still update even if the file wasn't opened for lets say the weekend. So it is constantly rolling.

I'm creating an log to track the total number of hours an employee works in one day and calculate regular and overtime hours worked based on the following criteria: overtime will be >8 hours in one day and >40 hours in one week.
Right now I have it 'mostly' figured out, but under certain conditions, it calculates more than 8 hours in one day for straight time. Is there a way to set a maximum value for the straight time cell and have the difference be added to the overtime cell?

I am trying to build a sheet to track deliveries into the company I work for.
We book loads to come in at set times for production, I am wanting a sheet which I can enter the due time and the actual time of the the different companies and then produce a report in graph format to see which are the worst at late or early deliveries.

I have a spreadsheet, in which I need to lookup invoice numbers from a raw data file with ~5,000 line items on a daily basis. The lookup is based on two criteria searches (1) search product type (2) search product make. In this example, I have 4 product types:
1 – car
2 – truck
3 – boat
4 – motorcycle
For this example I want to search invoices; (1) first search for cars only (2) search for product make. In my attached example, the first item (cell E2) would return invoice number 7147875-FRD from the raw data file. The second item (cell E3) would return invoice number 7147877-NSN.

I have a spreadsheet to record profit or loss on a daily basis. The figure for each day can therefore be positive, negative or zero.
I want to add a column to display the total for the last 7 days (NOT the last 7 calendar days), in which either a profit or a loss was recorded (so excluding any cell that is zero).
I would prefer to add (insert), the column for each day as it comes and the range would obviously vary if the new day's figure was not zero.

I have a daily rainfall data and I want to convert it to monthly totals. I tried the pivotal table but the arrangement of the data seemed to be confusing (i.e the year, month and day are in different columns).

I have to compute monthly standard deviation (volatility) from daily data.
The problem consists on the fact that the days during a month are not constant and change over time.
I attach the excel file : Price_Time_Series.xlsx
In this xls file, you can find dates in column A, price in column B and returns in column C.
I want to compute standard deviation at the end of the month for stock returns (column C), by considering all available days.
As you can note from the file, the days change over time and they are note constant. How can I compute standard deviation of them?

I have a problem here in calculating the Daily sales target based on Monthly Targets and Year End Target.

I've daily data of a stock indices returns and I would like to calculate the monthly standard deviation. Currently, I'm using the following worksheet functions: =STDEVP(C2:C20)*SQRT(COUNT(C2:C20))
However, the range changes from month to month, which makes the process of calculating the monthly standard deviation to be quite tedious if I've about 10 years worth of data. I assume I could somehow substitute the range with a dynamic range, but I'm struggling to come up with the correct formulation that would do that.

I have an excel 2007 script that downloads daily stock data and prices. I do analysis and graph the data.
I would like to keep the download the same, but modify my analysis so as to obtain weekly and/or monthly data.
I am sure this is commonly done, and is not rocket science, but so far I am baffled as to the procedure / algorithm to do this.

I'm using Excel 2007 and am having an issue with grouping/ungrouping fields in pivot tables.
I have 2 separate pivot tables, both from the same named data source, but summarizing different data selections. Both tables include the date field, I am trying to produce both a daily and a monthly table, but whenever I change the grouping/ungrouping of the date field setting on one table, the other table changes to the same grouping.
Is there anyway to have one table with an ungrouped date field and one table with the grouped to month date field?

I am trying to create a very basic workbook that has 2 worksheets. one is a daily input for tonnes, that then just gets cut and pasted to a different program, and the other worksheet is the running total. i.e., it adds up every time you update it.
been trying to figure out a macro so when you press the update button it then just updates the monthly total.

I cannot solve with Excel 2010 and I have searched all over for the answer.
I have sales data that is approximately daily and would like to count the monthly data and summarize it as an average for the month in a separate column.
For example, I would like to turn this:
3/2/2005 $xxxx
3/5/2005 $xxxx
3/20/2005 $xxxx
4/2/2005 $xxxx
4/10/2005 $xxxx
Into this:
March 2005- $xxxx (monthly average)
April 2005- $xxxx (monthly average)
I have a feeling some 'countif' formula would work but I am not sure how to do this.

I have the following scenario:
Cell A1 shows a specific value (pivot table value), but same A1 cell value might change if pivot table is refreshed.
So I am trying to automatically copy A1 value to another cell but I need to keep track of each value when pivot table is refreshed.
I have been researching about =Value formula, but it does not work properly since A1 cell reference will change each time pivot table is refreshed.
