I have a chart where half the users want a black backgroud and half want a gray background. Is there a way I can change the chart colors based on a textbox value? I would have the user choose a value (say, "Dark Background or Light Background") and then, upon commencing the macro it changes the chart.

I've tried using "ActiveRange" in lieu of "ActiveCell" as well as other commands that would seem to be correct but have failed.
I have no knowledge of VB programming and the conditional formatting seems limited. I want to change to the color of cells to yellow if the cell value is greater than 80 but less than 99, and if it is 100 or greater to fill red. Is this possible and if so can it be applied to a range of cells?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a model that has a mixture of conditional formatting and data validation formulas within it, but have run into a problem in one area. Essentially, cell E10 is a Validation which pulls a drop down list of names. One of the options in this list is "Other".
I want to create a VBA code to make sure that cell E12 will get rid of any input, turn grey (color index = 15), and potentially lock (if possible!) if the "Other" is chosen by the user in cell E10. If any other value is chosen for cell E10, Cell E12 needs to remain unlocked and white (color index=2).
I have an excel sheet in which many cells have a background color of Green. These cells are located all over the sheet. I want to change the background color from Green to Red not affecting the color of other cells in the sheet.
I will be realy really thankful, as I have to do this exercise for more than 50 worksheets.......If I start doing it manually by selecting each celll with green color background and changing it to red.....you can well imagine my condition.....my life would get shorten significantly while doing this.

It is intended to change the font colour to white when the cell = "AUTO". It does, but it also changes the contents of the cell (like NA, and NR) to white when they aren't equal to AUTO.
This may have been answered on here but can not seem to find it. My situation is I have values in A1,A2 & A3 that are like counter reading so the value is always changing. What I am looking to do is change the cell color if one of the values is over 500 from the other two values. Say A1 is 3000, A2 is 3250 and A3 is 3500. I would like the cell for A3 to change color.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to use VBA in Excel 2007 to change bar chart series colors. I have found a few posts that link it to a cell background, but I'm struggling to find one that does the font color.
It would be great if I could change the bar chart series to match the color of the text in the A column, so that if I highlighted the value in A1 and changed the text color to orange for whatever reason, the chart updates the value of 1.2 to an orange bar (see below).

I wrote a macro to color the cell values in the rows based on their average value. For eg if the cell value is less than 0.2 Avg, they should be red color,if value is between 0.2 and 0.5 it should be yellow. This part is working fine
Now based on the color of the rows cells , need to write a macro for the header one. Logic is Coloum header should be in red colour, if in one or more number of rows cells are red. same with yellow ones. Could you please help me out in solving this with logic.
I am using Excel 2010 and basically i am trying to fill a range of cell with a green color if any value was enter in a specific cells. Example: I would like to fill range: A10:c13 with a green color (regardless of the cells content in this range) if a value was entered in cell C10 or C11 or C12 or C13.
I've tried conditional formatting but unfortunately I'll have to apply formatting for every cell and for a range of over hundred cells is not efficient.
Trying to make an excel macro that changes the background of a cell dependant if the value is between one number and another or equal to another number.

E.g i have the first row filled with 1,3,5,6,8 then i want the second worksheet on the first row to have filled with black color the 1st,3rd,5th,6th,8th columns and nothing on the others. I have something like this with data in around 1000rows there is text in collums A B D and E.

and i would like to do this:
if value in cell x in collum C is over 80 then background color in Ax,Bx,Cx,Dx,Ex is yellow
if value in cell x in collum C is between 60-80 then background color in Ax,Bx,Cx,Dx,Ex is brown
if value in cell x in collum C is between 40-60 then background color in Ax,Bx,Cx,Dx,Ex is blue
if value in cell x in collum C is between 0-40 then background color in Ax,Bx,Cx,Dx,Ex is red
Obviously i cant use conditional formating because i have more then 3 conditions.
Does anybody know what code to use for VBA?
I am trying to multiply a range of cells by a cell reference. The cells currently have hard coded values in them. I know with past special you can multiply a range of cells by a copied #. I want a similar function to that just instead of a copied cell its a cell reference. No VBA.

I have been tasked with creating a Macro in order to help speed up a rather simple set of steps that are taken to format a spreadsheet each day. The last step, however, is not so simple. I would like to add a statement to the macro code that does that following:
Based on the value of a specific cell, color the cell and all corresponding cells within the same row (from colums A to AA) yellow. Essentially, cells in column D may have a the value "No Allocation", and if they do, I will need to format that cell yellow as well as all the cells within the same row for the colume range A to AA.
I have attached an example file.. Basically I want the text in a range to change to red if one cell="Description".
Also, I want a cell's text to turn blue if it's corresponding data in the row says "Click on Title to Follow Link"
The example file explains it a lot better..

1. If all cells on sheet 2 in range A1:A10 were false then cell A1 on sheet 1 would be red.

The listbox says either CASH or CHECK. If the user selects CASH, I would like the row to stay the same color. If the user selects CHECK I would like the row to be highlighted or change color. Upon a glance, anyone who knew the system could then tell how many people paid by CHECK, and who they were.
