I have two columns, one describing the stage of our client (won, lost, postponed .. ) and the other one describing the lead source (referral, repeater, website, ...). Now I would love to have a column chart out of those two values, to know how many website inquiries were lost / won / postponed .. how many referrals were lost / won / postponed .. also.

I am attempting to create a chart from data generated outside of Excel 2003 SP2, that has been Copied and Pasted into Excel. There is no metadata associated with this data. I have created a list with the data once it has been pasted into Excel 2003 SP2.
The Workbook has five (5) worksheets, all with the default names (Sheet1, Sheet2, etc.). I paste the data into Sheet1 and reference this from the other worksheets. Sheet2 shows the charts for all the data. Sheet3, Sheet4, and Sheet5 are each for different regions, North, South and West respectively. I would like to enter the formula into Cell: Sheet5!M5 so it auto populates with the appropriate and correct information. Sheet1 information is as follows;
Column B has a header of "CreateDate" and is in the format of; 4-Jun-07
Column O has a header of "Business Unit" and has three (3) possible answers, North, South or West. **I have attached a screen shot of the two colums used named, "Columns.Used.png". I have hidden the columns in between as they contain confidential information.**
I would like a formula that gives a total of one if both criteria are met. The criteria is as follows;
IF Column B on Sheet1 equals Cell L5 on Sheet5 AND Column O on Sheet1 equals West THEN the total should appear. **I have created and attached a sample spreadsheet "Sample.Data.zip"that contains only basic data on Sheet1 and Sheet5 as those are the only sheets relevant.**
I have a spreadsheet with 65000 potential client surnames in column c, with contract details in neighbouring columns. I have also a spreadsheet of 6000 actual client surnames. I would like to search the large spreadsheet to make sure that none of the clients are contained in it, or if some are to highlight them.
Do I use advanced filter or vlookup? I use excel 2000 and due to the size of the first spreadsheet it takes 6 minutes to open/save e.t.c.
For example, on column X, if I type 20, bob or bobafett it type 2.0 instead but on column I if I type bob, it will type 3.0
they would all be edited manually
or even better, no matter where I type it on excel, it would go in the right column, like bob X, then it would change to 2.0 and go directly in the X column

View 7 Replies View RelatedI can create a column chart in excel comparing sales in 06 v's 07 for each month in 07, what I'm aiming to show on the chart is how sales have grown or not over a comparative period. A simple enough graph, I end up with about 24 columns (2 for each month and then a gap between each month).
I now want a line chart to show the performance of an index over the same time period, lets say the FTSE100.
I don't know how to get the line chart under the columns on the same graph, using the same x-axis with a small y-axis to the left. I could propably figure out the y-axis bit if I could only get the line chart below the columns.
I have a column of words in Column A and I want to replace all the times that these words appear in the rest of the excel sheet with the words in Column B. If someone has already answered a similar problem link me to the thread because I can't find anything.

I've been using conventional method to do this and it's time consuming. I would like to total up 2 column. A multiply B to be exact. Below are some examples:

I am trying to get an Excel chart to include columns AND stacked columns in the same chart with no success. I have attached the Excel chart where I could only get stacked columns and I had to use a line chart for the secondary axis. I could not figure out how to get the secondary axis to be a set as a column just like the primary axis. I thought this could be done in Excel, I have searched the forums and tried to play around with the gap width and/or include a blank column but I still haven't been able to get this to work.

Please note, the date will change with each record, so I need to figure out how to tell Excel to find "Priviledge1", delete it and the date behind it. On to the topic, I have all the US and Canadian states abbreviated (CO = Colorado, etc.) and was wondering if there is a way to make all of them convert to their respective names in one fell swoop instead of writing it in for each one, one at a time. Something along the lines where I can make, CO = Colorado, TX = Texas and then hit enter and all of the abbreviations would convert. Some kind of command.

I have attached an example spreadsheet where I am looking for a result of 7 rows that contain 1 to 4 specific words within phrases. I am looking for a way to that I can stack certain columns in an excel chart. For example the first column will be a total and the three next to it will be the breakdown of the first total. I want the second, third and fourth columns to stack on top of each other so that they will equal the height of the first. Is this possible? So this is basically sales of different products (columns) on different routes (Rows).
I want to add up a total for all the same kind of products eg. Magnum for each route eg. Local Top End.
I would like to create a chart with stacked columns. Usually, the data on the Y-axis is some kind of numerical data, such as budget. I would like to have the Y-axis have non-numerical data (= nominal categories).
Example :
Take the following data :
category | productname
red berry
red carrot
green cabbage
green apple
The ouput format i want is a chart which shows on the horizontal axis the categories red and green, and stacks in each category the right productnames on top of eachother; preferably each productname should have a different colour and showing data labels (e.g. "1", "green","apple" could be 1 specific data label).
I don't know how to achieve this, because if you display data as "count of productnames", then automatically you get something like a block with value 2, which doesn't show the different productnames inside that block.
Can the desired chart be made with Excel somehow?

Ideally i would also like to change the colour of the columns or background of those below the line to show who is under target.
