It calculate the days passed or in simple way calculate the date difference for the 2 columns and puts them in third. But i need to use a inputbox for entering the first date for monday of the month each time i use the worksheet.
When i try using the module for each cell of the column it display the input box for each cell. is there any way so that i just enter the value in input box and it can be used in rest of the module.Without using it again and again.
I have created a standard input box for the date (UK)
datereceived = InputBox("Please enter the DATE the text message was received, please enter in format DD/MM/YY", , Date)
Sheet1. Range("e" & x).Value = datereceived
I have formatted the cells for row 'E' for 'Date' and DD/MM/YYYY in English UK, But when I have inputted the date into the input box ( e.g. 01/05/2008 ), it inputs into the spreadsheet 05/01/2008 (American Obviously),
I am trying to insert data from an excel sheet to a sql database. Everything works okay but the Time value. In the Excel sheet it is '12:09 PM' and when it is read with 'cl. Offset(0, 6).Value' it turns it into '0.50625'. Is there a way to format it so it can be inserted as a datetime?
Dim cl As Range
For Each cl In Range("A1:A12")
stSql = "INSERT INTO GasData (Delivery,OpenPrice,High,Low,Last,Change,Time) VALUES ('" & _
cl.Value & "','" & _
cl.Offset(0, 1).Value & "','" & _
cl.Offset(0, 2).Value & "','" & _
cl.Offset(0, 3).Value & "','" & _
cl.Offset(0, 4).Value & "','" & _
cl.Offset(0, 5).Value & "','" & _
cl.Offset(0, 6).Value & "')"
cn.Execute stSql
Next
I am trying to create a vba using only one macro button (excel). I would like for them to enter their names and have their own password that will then insert their signature(pic.jpg) in a specific cell.
I created a certificate in excel and I don't want 12 (number of people) buttons visible. Id rather have a long code. Im not sure if using If and Then and ElseIf is the way to go.
If numbers has been pasted in as text I cant convert them after. It convert the text to numbers and after it make a custom format with 5 zeroes.
I would really like to have the possibility to set the range with a input box and after set the numbers of zeroes/digits I want to have there. But have had problem put it in the code.
Have a look at the code below I have also pasted a test sheet to work with.
[Code] .....
Attached File : Testconvert.xls
I have been using a specific macro for at least 2 years now without incident...
but today for some reason I am get an error: ....
I was wanting to input the date Before Printing. I want to write some code.
Private Sub Workbook Before_Print (cancel as booleen)
Inputbox = "Enter the date you would like in Mondays cell C4"
Application.Worksheet.Range("C4").Value = InputBox.Value
PrintDialogBox.Show
End Sub
I know I am making a very rough attempt at what I am trying to achieve, I just don't know coding that well.
I have the inputbox so i can set a string value,
When the inputbox Cancle button is pressed i want to exit sub,
If the inputbox value is nothink and ok button, I want the msgbox displayed then goto newname.
If the inputbox has a value do >>>>>>That>>>>>
I have 4 columns, If column B (Ref No) is filled in, the adjacent columns, C,D and E become mandatory and an input box pops up on screen one after the other for entry into each column.
My problem is that I require a drop down list and not a input box for the final column (status). So i have created a userform with a combobox dropdown. I am having problems connecting the combobox selection to the final column, and for the selected combobox item to go into the right cell like the input box entry currently does.

I have attached a sheet and also you can see the code below.

Need a code using application.inputbox to get a range, then use that range to copy and paste the range's link and format to a different sheet? The specifics don't matter, I just can't figure out the syntax. Here is what I have currently:
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to develope a "goto" page macro where the page value maybe 1,34,7A, 256C etc. I am not clear on how an inputbox value can be compared to a string variable or a numeric variable at the same time. This is what I have done, but when the texboxvalue is "7A" it doesn't work.

Is there a function or vba code that I can use in excel to convert the normal time format to epoch time?
I've got a thousand or so entries, so it would be nice to find a way to do this on a large scale.
I have one column with as many as 50,000 or more rows. The data format for each row/ cell is unique as shown below ( date and time). I wanted to split the data as shown in "Formatted Data" below. Have Tried Text To Column formatting but didn't work right.
Raw Data: Formatted Data (2 cells):
2005/11/02 23:55:15.758 ==> 2005/11/02 23:55:15.758
2005/11/02 23:58:16.698 ==> 2005/11/02 23:58:16.698
2005/11/03 00:07:13.830
2005/11/03 00:10:14.971
I have a cell with both date & time "10/9/09 3:15" This is put in the current cell by formula which indexes two dif. cells, Now I am trying to copy this cell and paste into another book but like to have only date. How can I do that? Each time I try it gives me the time value in the pasted cell and I cannot even format it.

I found a formula for calculating time in the HH:MM AM/PM
=IF(B1<A1,B1+1,B1)-A1
This formula was to give me total hours in the cell for which it is entered, and cell format for the formula was in military format.
I cannot find this post. The formula worked in OpenOffice Calc program, but when it came to converting to excel, I came up with #value!
I want to enter the time in 12 hour format and using am/pm to designate. I am making it for someone to make work schedules with and they do not know military time.
i want to ask for a reason if a item is late where M & line is the time it should have left and N & line is the actual time it left.
TL is the difrence between the two times
i want the input box to read " DRIVER DISPATCHED 30 MINUTES LATE PLEASE ENTER REASON"
but it returns "DRIVER DISPATCHED -.11233543 E2 MINUTES LATE"
how do i format this to show the difrence in minutes
TL = Range("N" & Line) - Range("M" & Line)
late = InputBox("DRIVER DISPATCHED " & TL & " MINUTES LATE PLEASE ENTER REASON")
a formula that I could deduct one time from another and get an answer that gives me the total times in hours and minutes.
So in the case of a person starts work at 7:56:24 and finishes at 15:24:20 - What formula would I need to calculate the amount of hours and minutes worked.
I would like to format my cells containg date from any format to the format dd-mm-yy. I was doing this manually with the below function
=TEXT(YEAR(Q2),0)&"-"&(RIGHT("0"&TEXT(MONTH(Q2),0),2))&"-"&(RIGHT("0"&TEXT(DAY(Q2),0),2)).
I would like to automate this using vba. i tried a bit but doesn't get what i want. ultimately i want the date in text(dd-mm-yy) format.
I have loaded a .csv file in which the first column contains date/times, e.g. 01/12/2012 00:00. How do I now tell Excel (2010) that this is in fact a date/time format? If I select one or more of the cells, click on the Number dialog box launcher and try to pick a suitable format tghe cells resolutely refuse to budge from being text (i.e. left-justified, still allows me to edit the 'seconds' component to a number > 60). Also which data type should I be using? The only one that appears to have a full date/time format listed is Custom (not Date or Time).

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a time data on the format "0h 00m 00s" but I can't convert it to a standard "00:00:00" format to properly handle it and I'm not so Excel savvy. I already tried looking for something on google but the formulas for similar issues "0h 0s" or "0d 0h 0h" are not working (I can't find a way to adjust them). For example: I'm have the following data on G3:
0h 37m 52s
and I'm using the following TIME/FIND formula:
=TIME(FIND("h",G3),FIND("m",G3),FIND("s",G3))
but the outcome is "2:06:10" instead of "0:37:52"
I’m running a report on the average hold time of telephone calls. The data I extract for the report exports like this:
3:09
:00
:40
3:48
2:18
:12
:30
1:10
I need to re-format the cells to show like this:
3:09
0:00
0:40
3:48
2:18
0:12
If I only had 15 or 20, I would change them manually. But, this report has about 200 rows. And, I have 7 different reports to run.
I’m lost when it comes to making macros and using Visual Basic. Although, I can follow instructions and copy/paste.
The code mentioned in this thread: [URL] ....

Doesn’t work with this particular format. It’s changing the data to this:
03:09:00

03:48:00
02:18:00
:12
:30
01:10:00

01:32:00
02:07:00

How can I change the VB code to give me what I want?
