Columns And Pages (get 9 Collumns On Every Page (insted Of 4)
Apr 18, 2006
I have a file that's about 50 000 rows long, and 4 collumns wide. And this whould work just fine, but I would not like to print a little over 700 pages... So now I've tried to change the sheet so that I could get 9 collumns on every page (insted of 4). So that I could get two of the old pages on one page (with one empty row between them... It's hard to explain but here is a little ASCII pic that might give you a hint.
OLD (about 700 pages):
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |
| | | |
(Both "pictures" are just one page)
(the "-" are the empty row)
I can not take the second half of the rows and paste them beside the first half of the rows...
I have a list that I need to print. It is only 2 columns, but 12 pages long. I would like to print 4 or 6 pages, side by side on the same sheet. I tried changing the print setting to 4 pages per page. But, when I looked at the print preview, it showed only 1 page per page.
I've created a workbook with several pages, on all of the first pages they are set up in Landscape view since it contains several columbs of accounting amounts. Below each (page 2) I would like to create a receipt template that I can use the sum formulas and text formulas which is no problem. However, when I print the selected page 2 of 2 to get the invoice, it also comes out in landscape set up. Can I have one page (ie: rows 1-44) in landscape and then page two (rows 45-83) in portrait.
I essentially have this data repeated multiple times depending on how many products I am looking at, I would like this repeated 3 times per page, which is where the page breaks are currently being placed. When i tried to set Width 1 page the automatic page breaks would only allow two of these per page at 100% scaling.
I have a sheet with a few hundred rows of data which I filter out by using a very simple autofilter. I have set page breaks throughout the whole sheet on certain rows I need to start on a new page. If the auto filter filters out any of these rows when it prints it prints a blank page where that row would have been before it was hidden by the autofilter.
For example the whole list is say 5 pages (set with page breaks) I apply an auto filter that now reduces it down to 2 pages say the 1st and last page of the original list. If I page break preview it, it shows me that it will be 2 pages but when i print preview/print the sheet it prints the 1st page then 3 blank pages then page 5 even know that the page break preview only shows and numbers 2 pages. Because the original page breaks are still there just are hidden by the autofilter so it adds them in as blank pages
Why when I drag the dotted blue page break line does it sometimes break the entire doc into one page per cell ?
The doc is not wide. When I first load I can drag the break line successfully. Then I print preview... select print on both sides... boom.. goes from 4 pages to 14. Then I go back to page break view... drag the line... boom... Hundreds of pages. Even if I revert back to printing on one side it still is messed up.
How do I make this stop?? What am I doing wrong?? Office 2010
I have a single page spreadsheet. I want to print multiple copies and have a unique invoice number on each page printed in cell O1. I don't want to just send it to the printer as individual print jobs. I would like to send it to print as a pdf in a single 100 page document or if not a pdf then just as a multiple page document.
For example first print run would start at number 1001 and last numbered page is 1101.
I would like to lock some collumns and yet change the formating on the unlocked cells mi other columns. Is there another way to protect cells other than locking cells and then protecting the worksheet?
I'm trying to execute a macro and it won't put the focus (radio button) to select x pages wide by x pages tall in the Page Setup/Page/Scaling Area. I looked at the macro and can't find a setting in the code but yet the focus won't change. What can I do about this? In other words the radio button stays selected as "adjust to "" % of normal size. Here's the code...
When I view a sheet under Page Break Preview, it shows the Page numbers in the centre of the Page. While I am aware that it would not print the page number I was wondering if there is an option to remove/hide the page numbers.
I am having issue setting up an analysis page for a report that I have. I am trying to find out for each individual what are the currently working on, completed, and the average time it took to complete. I have the data but it is in the following format:
The way I need the data appear with the name above with the data below as shown below.
JulieTom Working11 Complete2- Avg Time3-
I am having issue because the data isn't setup in a column format. Also the data list is constantly growing so I want it to be something that can update itself so I am not constantly updating the report.
I am working on an excel spreadsheet that has multiple "sheets" to it. On the first sheet I have multiple columns worth of info and on the second sheet I am trying to copy some of the info from the first sheet.
For example:
Sheet 1, Column A2 has the number 1 in it.
On sheet 2 I have entered the command "=SHEET1A2" and it copies the info as I had hoped.
However, here is where my issue comes into place.
When I sort Column A on sheet 1 numerically, my answer on sheet 2 changes to whatever the new number is in box A2 on sheet 1.
Is there a way I can copy the info so that it changes as I sort the column numerically or alphabetically?
I'm struggling with getting my Excel worksheet to fit nicely on the pg for printing to .pdf. I could tinker with column widths manually to work this out for a printed report. But I need to print a couple hundred reports with varying column widths, so I need a vba solution.
The context is that I'm using vba to process two sets of interlinked data on a worksheet. I only want to print one set of data, and keep the second set out of the print view. To do this, I'm keeping the first set of data in columns 1 to 10 and the second set of data in columsn 21 to 30. I set the print range to only include columns 1 to 10.
This works fine for keeping the second set of data off the printed pg. The problem is that there is always a gap between the end of column 10 and the maximum width of the printed pg. Given the formatting of the report, this doesn't look very good.
I know that page setup offers the "fit to" option. This would work if I wanted to fit everything on the worksheet on the pg, but I don't. I just want to fit columns 1 to 10 to the pg. Is there a way to do this, allowing for varying widths in columns 1 to 10? Is there a way to do it via vba?
I used Sheets(1).Cells(1, 1).Rows.End(xlUp).Count instead of UsedRange.Rows.Count in this code , but it didn't succed with me. Why and how to do that
Dim i As Long, j As Long j = 1 For i = 1 To UsedRange.Rows.Count Sheets(2).Cells(j, "a").Value = Sheets(1).Cells(i, "a").Value Sheets(2).Cells(j, "b").Value = Sheets(1).Cells(i, "b").Value Sheets(2).Cells(j, "c").Value = Sheets(1).Cells(i, "c").Value j = j + 1 Next i End Sub
I have some code that parses an html table. I want to put in error handling in case the format of the page changes or the internet page is unavailable. I am testing without an internet connection and the run time error is not being branched off to the error handler and is fatally ending the macro. This is true also if I raise an error manually.
Private Sub ParseInjuryPage() On Error Goto ErrorHandl Dim strPage As String Dim webIE As SHDocVw.InternetExplorer Dim myURL As String Dim tableBeg As Long Dim tableEnd As Long Dim RowBeg As Long Dim rowEnd As Long Dim cellBeg As Long Dim cellEnd As Long Dim strBeg As Long Dim strEnd As Long Dim myCell As Range Dim rowNum As Integer With Sheets("INJ") Set myCell = .Range("A2") .Range("A:F").Value = vbNullString rowNum = 2 Set webIE = New SHDocVw.InternetExplorer myURL = "http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/injuries" webIE.Navigate myURL Do Until webIE.ReadyState = READYSTATE_COMPLETE DoEvents Loop strPage = webIE.Document.body.innerhtml...................................
I have a sheet that changes the number of columns based on data from other sheets. This is the only sheet in the workbook that I will print out every day. I have it set right now to fit all columns on one page, however sometimes this will result in the bottom 1/3rd of the sheet not being used. If I use fit all rows on one page, then some of the columns will get cut off. Is there a way to scale in both directions? My guess is there is not, but I thought I would ask because it would work great for me if I could.
I have a report that I use and right now I have a command button that prints the report x2. What I would like to do is to have it print one in color and one in grayscale. I could do this I think with two different buttons, but I would like to utilize just one. I tried creating a macro but it did not pick up the fact that I changed the properties to black and white.
I am looking for a formula that will take data from one page and graph it on another page. The data I am trying to graph is arranged like so:
A B
1 q 2009.05.01 2 w 2009.05.02 3 w 2009.05.01 4 q 2009.05.01
I am looking for something that will look at column A and if the answer is "q" and then look at column B and if the answer is "2009.05.01" Excel will take that and count it in a specific cell on another page. In the case above, I want Excel to give me the answer of "2" in a designated cell.
Could I use 1 multipage UserForm Instead of 8 UserFoms. Is it better to use 1 multipage UserForm with 8 pages or 8 UserForms. I dont know if this make sense or not?
I have a workbook that has 9 different tabs in it. Once all the information has been completed throughout the workbook, is there a code that could transfer specific data on each page to a different colum on that same page? I need to do this for 9 pages at one time. The information is listed differently on each page. I need to transfer data from the current data column to the previous data column once the entire workbook has been filed out.
how to get rid of the page numbers that appear when using page break preview mode. The page numbers appear in large grey font in the middle of each page and sometimes makes it difficult to read cells. Can I use this view with all the same functionality without that one feature?
I need a macro that will print a hidden page that is linked to the page I have active.
It needs to be able to find the correct hidden page that corresponds to the active page because there are multilple pairs of the hidden/visible pages. The name of the hidden page is the same as the visible one with "printout" added to the end. When created, the sheet code names are sheetn and sheetm; n and m being consecutive numbers.
Working with 2000 Excel is bringing some new chalanges. I see things are done different. I am trying now to keep my header to repeat from page to page.
For example I have a header that may say something like: People, numbers, date, ect. And there are so many new rows they go on for pages long. How can I keep my header on the top of each page when it prints out on paper.
Assume that calculation is set to automatic and not manual, then is every formula on a page updated when any value on the page is changed, or only when the values in the cells pertaining to a particular formula change?
For instance, if cells a1-a10 have values and in a11 is a sum a1-a10 formula, and in b1-b10 are values and a sum b1-b10 formula in b11, if I change a value in range b1-b10 but do not change any values in a1-a10,then as well as the formula in b11 updating will the formula in a11 recalculate or does excel keep track of which cells have changed and thus is aware that the formula in a11 does not need to be recalculated?
