I have the following code that works properly, Copy & Paste Same Range On Protected Sheet From Multiple Workbooks
Dim lCount As Long
Dim wbResults As Workbook
Dim wbCodeBook As Workbook, book1R As Range
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
Application.EnableEvents = False
On Error Resume Next
Set wbCodeBook = ThisWorkbook
'Change path to suit...............
I have tried to write the below VBA to copy a specific cell to a specific workbook. I have set the folder path in B1 and listed the file names in column E4 onwards. E1 being the number of files in column E. I get a run-time error 91 "Object variable or With block variable not set" on Current File = ActiveWorkbook.name.
Sub UpdateParameters() Dim CurrentFile As Workbook Dim wbOpen As Workbook
Is there code that will take certain data from one Excel sheet to another named file in a different place on the network? Example Copy cell aa47 from "Recent Faxes.xls" that sits in "correspondence" folder. Then paste into cell B25 "Current Documentation.xls" in the "Sales Contacts" folder
I got a problem that I cannot seem to solve, I want to retrieve values from 2 closed workbooks, I have with the help of this forum managed to create some VBA that retrieves the values from one of the workbook. What do I need to think of,to be able to put in the values from the second spreadsheet without the values disapearing from the "master" spreadsheet?
The code so far:
Sub ValuesfromClosedWorkbook() Dim filetoopen As String Dim wb As Workbook
filetoopen = Application _ . GetOpenFilename("XL Files (*.xls), *.xls") On Error Resume Next Set wb = Workbooks.Open(filetoopen, True, True) With ThisWorkbook.Worksheets(1) . Cells.Value = wb.Worksheets(1).Cells.Value End With wb.Close False Set wb = Nothing End Sub
I have had a good look around and have found some scripts that look like they can help but do not. here is my situation
I have 300+ questionaires in excel that contain around 20 questions with each question having the possibility of 5 answers i.e A1 A1Do you like this service, answers will be scored in cells F1,G1,H1,I1,J1
What I would like is for a master document to combine all the data into 1 document so I will know how many of the 300 have F1,G1 etc.
In the filed F1 the variable may be X or it may be a number, I would like to add up the number of non blanks in that field, from 300+ closed workbooks
Currently i am looking for a macro to combine information in different workbooks but on the same sheetname. In every single workbook i have a worksheet with a single row of information which has to be added to one big file. In stead of doing all 200 manually i would like vba to select this particular range, copy it and paste them under eachother in one single worksheet in a different workbook. Is this possible?
for examble book 1, sheet 1 has all the data in rang a1 till z1. this has to be copied to the masterfile under a1. this goes on from book 1 till book 200.
I have a little over 100 workbooks which I will receive back from customers and in column A of another workbook I have the names of those workbooks.
Not all workbooks will come in at the same time, but I would like, as we receive the workbooks, retrieve the value from cell H19 from the available workbooks according to the name in column A and place the value in column B.
I've looked into Indirect, but with this function the workbooks have to be open. If one of the workbooks has not been received, I would like for the macro to skip this file name. All files are .xlsm.
The file will be in the same folder as all the individual workbooks.
I have multiple excel files from which I would like to copy specific ranges to a master file. The row should add up to the previous rows. From this side I have no problems things work fine. The problem is to copy the header which remains the same data to the top of the master file. Currently the macro I use overwrite the first line of the master file. So I loose the date from one of the excel files.
That does allow me to filter the output in Master, but ideally what I would want to do is not have to set aside 300 lines in the Master file for each of the Staff files. Conceptually, I'd like to have the spreadsheets Staff A, Staff B, etc. look for and export only lines which have data in them and then have Master bring those lines in automatically. This may not be possible, in which case your suggested solution is the best approach.
I put the following codes in the module of Workbook BS. The codes successfully opened the workbook of 2008. Unfortunately, nothing was pasted to Workbook BS of sheet2. let me know any things missing from my codes.
Sub COPY() Dim wb1 As Workbook Dim wb2 As Workbook Dim rng As Range Set wb1 = Workbooks.Open("C:Documents and SettingsuserMy Documents20082008.xls") Set wb2 = Workbooks.Open("C:Documents and SettingsuserMy Documents2008BS.xls") wb1.Worksheets("S").rng("B:B").COPY wb2.Worksheets("Sheet2").Range("A:A").End(xlToLeft).Offset(, 1) End Sub
Copy and paste the values only from one workbook and a set of named ranges (Name1, Name2, Name3) but only the rows within the range were TRUE is found in column A - To a CLOSED workbook named Data / Sheet1 - located at C:NetworkTemplate starting with cell B10.
I would like to be able to have a user execute a macro by clicking a command button that would copy some named ranges (Name1,Name2,Name3) BUT ONLY the rows/cells that have "True" in column A. The destination for the pasted data is a closed Workbook named Data – Sheet1 located on a network drive (\NetworkTemplate)
Example: One named range are cells D10:D50, a second named range are cells F10:F50, and a third is G10:G50. – But ONLY rows 11, 13,14 have True in column A, so I only want to copy the 9 cells not the entire row from those select ranges and open a closed workbook and paste the values only starting with cell B10.
I can not find anything that looks for a value in one column and only copies select cells to another workbook.
I am working with two files, both files have multiple worksheets. File A has a worksheet that is filled out almost entirely by equations. I need to move the information from that worksheet into file B. In file B i will process the information further. Also, I will print it and it has to look exactly the way it does in file A. I want all this to happen automatically so I am looking for some sort of function or script that will perform this task.
I have a macro that copies and pastes into another sheet. When I add a row of data into my spreadsheet I want the macro to be able to change the range size and copy and paste the add row with the prior data.
As I am at work, it does not allow me to upload the file due to restrictions on uploading. However, the spreadsheet is fairly simple so should be able to describe it.
The main sheet is called "Investigation Court Apps". An entry is made into each row and the status shows as "Open" in Column A, until a final closure date is input in Column Z, at which point the entry in Column A changes to "Closed". This is achieved with the following IF statement in Column A.
So that part is all automated. What I need is some VBA coding or macro (might be same thing but completely new to all this) that when the value in Column A changes to "Closed" the whole row moves over to "Sheet3". Once the row has been moved over, I want to ensure there are no blank rows also.
I have tried the following amongst others:
Sub MoveToSheet3() Dim C1 As Range Dim RowNum As Integer For Each C1 In Sheets("Investigations Court Apps").Range("N1:N" & Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row) If Cll = 0 Then
I know to open VBA its Alt+F11 and to close Alt+Q, but thats about it.
I have a workbook for each day recording energy usage from 52 meters,
I need to collate the data on a single workbook.
The only way i can think of doing it is to use the INDIRECT function but this will not work on closed workbook.
I need to sum the contents of B1:AW1 on the closed workbook and input that into a cell on the new sheet. then repeated for B2:AW2, B3:AW3 up to B52:AW52 once this has been done the process needs to be repeated for 31 workbooks.
The end product should be 31 Columns (one for each day ini the last month) and 52 rown (one for each meter) and the total daily consumption for each meter (sum of column B:AW)
i can use application.username to get activeuser name and have excel check this and close the workbook if its not me, what i want to do is have excel check lets say cell A1 in workbook SECURITY.xls stored in C: and if it says Craig Shippey leave workbook open if not close the workbook, why i said working with closed workbooks is i dont want to have any indication on where its checking from,
1. i have a workbook in which i want an Workbook_open macro lets call this workbook staff.xls 2. the staff.xls should read cell A1 from C:security.xls into a variable called Check 3 if check craig shippey close workbook without any prompt
all this should be done without anyone knowing that a macro opens another workbook, i know if the user disables macros then it will still open, but i will just set their Macro Security level to low so they wont be prompted, i will also remove that item from their menu bar, if they cant see it they wont be able to alter it back
I am using the following code to attempt to pull data from closed workbooks. Something in the code is not working and i can't figure it out. ARG is resulting in the path i need with the exception of TOTAL which is the sheet i need the data from.
Private Function getvalue(path, file, sheet, ref)
'Retrieves a value from a closed workbook Dim arg As String
' Make sure the file exists If Right(path, 1) <> "" Then path = path & "" If Dir(path & "k217811.xls") = "" Then getvalue = "File Not Found" Exit Function End If
I am attempting to move data between two spreadsheets and have written a macro that initially copies one cell E2 then pastes it correctly into another workbook. I now need to modify the macro to include additional ranges. E2, E3, G2, H2, N1 to U3. I am stuck to the best method of selecting these ranges and then pasting them as I cannot get it to work. I have included a copy of the code below.
Sub getdata() Dim filename, fileselected Dim a1(1 To 20) Dim WB As Workbook ChDrive ("g:") ChDir ("G:Folder name") fileselected = Application. GetOpenFilename("Excel Files, *.xls", , "Select your Files", , True) If StrComp(TypeName(fileselected), "Boolean", vbTextCompare) = 0 Then ChDrive ("g:") Exit Sub End If.......................
I am learning VBA so that I can do greater programming. I am trying to copy and paste a dynamic range from one book to the other. My Statements are as follows.
With Workbooks("Actual Cash Flow.xlsx.").Worksheets("909") .Range("C1:E" & .Cells(Rows.Count, "E1").End(xlDown).Row).Copy Destination:=Workbooks("Master Cash Flow.xlsm").Worksheets("Master Cash Flow").Range("K1") End With
I tried this and it worked within the same work book, but when moving to a separate workbook I am having issues, and coming up with the error "Subscript is out of Range"
I have this formula in a excel file called test.xls which does a SUMIF on file "Sales By Customer v3 17-11-08.xls". It works fine when I have Sales By Customer v3 17-11-08.xls open at the time. When I close it the file displays a #VALUE in the cells
My formula is:
=SUMIF('G:FINANCEAccantia Budget2009Sales and GC[Sales By Customer v3 17-11-08.xls]DP Total'!$B$7:$M$7,Cover!M$85,'G:FINANCEAccantia Budget2009Sales and GC[Sales By Customer v3 17-11-08.xls]DP Total'!B9:M9)-'Page 15'!E9
This is really annoying as the formula works, and you need to open the linked file to display the results, otherwise you get the #VALUE. Is there anyway around this and why is it doing it??
