Copy Exactly What Is In Cell Not Formula Bar

Dec 29, 2007

I have a column with many different numbers and varying amount of digits in the cell it says 9.85, or 35.09 but in the formula bar it is not rounded and I need to copy these numbers to a csv and when I copy it the row to the CSV it still has the non-rounded totals in the formula bar, I have tried protecting the sheet and tried to paste special but neither seem to work how would I go about just copying exactly what is in the cell to another?

Copy A Formula In A Cell And Then Paste Only The Text Of The Formula

Jul 16, 2007

I would like to copy a formula in a cell and then paste only the text of the formula, but I can't figure it out. Basically, I would like to avoid going into the cells and absolute referencing or hitting F2, then copying the text.

When I hit "Ctrl C" to copy the cell, then hit "Alt/E/S/F/Enter" to paste the formula, it is just like a regular copy/paste formula-wise in that the references move.

VBA To Copy Value Of Cell To User Defined Cell And Append Formula?

Sep 13, 2012

My workbook has sevaral sheets reresenting the payment methods used by our customers. Each sheet has a range of cells F9 to Q33 which should hold the value of payments for each working day. e.g. F9 represents April 1st, F10 represents April 2nd.

A daily list of values is supplied which then transfers that day's value into cell E1 on each sheet.

On each sheet I manually have to take the value in E1 and copy and paste special: value into that day's cell e.g. today I will paste into cell K21. The cell value then looks like this '12134.12'. I then edit the cell to put a calculation on the end to divide the value by the value in another cell on the sheet. The cell value ends up like this '=12134.12/$G$5'. This is so I can see the values in thousands of pounds or by changing the value of G5 to 1,000,000 in millions.

Tomorrow I will do the same but in cell K22.

I have to do this on 15 worksheets and I have been struggling to get a macro together to do this. I can get as far as copying and pasting but I don't know how to add the calculation onto the end. I also would like to be able to input the cell destination daily probably with an input box so I can be flexible and potentially run it sevaral times if I need to catch up on previous days.

Copy Pairs From 2 Columns To Formula Reference Cells & Copy Updated Formula Results

Jun 24, 2008

I am currently working on a data analysis project (data mining) and need to collect and later analyze statistics for the inputs which control a series of calculations. These statistics are shown in the Statistics 1, Statistics 2 and Statistics 3 cells in the workbook that I attached. The inputs are X,Y; all possible values for these inputs are listed in the N,O columns. Basically I need a macro which would take the values from these two columns and place them pair after pair into the controlling cells (K3, L3), then it would copy cells H2 through L3 (updated stats) to a new sheet after each copy operation - so that I will finally have a list of statistics for all of the input pairs.

Copy Formula From Previous Cell To Next Cell When I Enter Something

Sep 9, 2007

I want to copy formula from previous row to next cell when i enter something in perticular cell.
i.e

--Colomn A --- Colomn B -- --------Colomn C
1 01-09-07 ----- John ----------=vlookup(b2,$s$1:$t$10,2,false)
2 01-09-07 ----- Smith -------- =vlookup(b3,$s$1:$t$10,2,false)

Now if i enter date in cell A3 then cell C3 should be automatically filled/copy formula as celll C2. and so on......
then if i enter data to A4 then cell C4 should be automatically filled/copy formula from cell C3.

I have also attached example file.

Copy Only Value From One Cell To Another And Not The Formula

Oct 9, 2013

I am trying to copy only the value from one cell to another and not the formula.

Usually I use:
Cells (1, 1).Copy Destination:=Cells(1, 2)

But this method copies the formula and not the value.

I have been using:
Cells(1, 2).Value = Cells(1, 1).Value

I know I can do something like: (but it seems long and I'd rather not 'select' anything)
Range("A1").Select
Selection.Copy
Range("A2").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues
Application.CutCopyMode = False

I couldn't find a way to use xlPasteSpecial with the first method.

Copy A Formula From One Cell To Another With A VB Macro

Jan 5, 2009

How to write a VB macro to copy an existing formula from cell A1 to cell A2 and back again.

I want to have a macro button which will act as a toggle each time the button is clicked.

For example the data will either be in cell A1 or A2.

When the button is clicked once, I would like the macro to execute and determine whether the formula is contained in A1 or A2.

If it finds data in cell A1, I want the Macro to cut and paste it to cell A2.

On the second click of the button I want it to do the opposite. Effectively it's a toggle switch.

022 has formula =IF(J22>=U22,1,"")

and basically u21 and u22 are "=s20"

so may i know what formula i should use to simplify o21 and o22 so that i do not need to use u21 and u22

i cant use =IF(J21>=U$21,1,"") because if i copy this formula and paste to other cell, it will always refer to U$21...

Copy Absolute Formula, Without Changing Every Cell

Sep 23, 2009

I think this should be easier than I am making it out to be, but the answer is escaping me....

Among other things, I have a workbook with these worksheets in it: Hours, Cost, Profit, Revenue.

Columns A, B, C & D should be exactly the same on each worksheet. So, I have all the data for these columns entered into Hours, and then reference that worksheet on the other ones.

That works fine until I sort it differently and then instead of having row 2 reference row 2, it will be in row 9, etc.

Now I know I can use =+Hours!$A$2 for the absolute reference, but then i would manually have to change the reference on each cell.

SO - (finally the question) Is there a way to use the absolute reference without having to manually enter it into each cell?

Copy Non Absolute Cell References In Conditional Formatting Formula?

Dec 3, 2012

I have this fairly simple formula which decides whether to shade a cell or not

=AND($X$1<>"TBD",R3<>"None",AC3="Y")

This is set in cell R3 and I want to copy it all the way down the cells in the R column. However, when I copy & paste (and copy and paste using paste special, formatting) the R3 and AC3 cell references do not update to match their relevant rows. eg If I highlight cell R26 the conditonal formatting formula still refers to cell R3 and AC3, not R26 & AC26. I'm using Excel 2010 but I don't recall this happening in 2003.
