# Copy Pairs From 2 Columns To Formula Reference Cells & Copy Updated Formula Results

Jun 24, 2008

I am currently working on a data analysis project (data mining) and need to collect and later analyze statistics for the inputs which control a series of calculations. These statistics are shown in the Statistics 1, Statistics 2 and Statistics 3 cells in the workbook that I attached. The inputs are X,Y; all possible values for these inputs are listed in the N,O columns. Basically I need a macro which would take the values from these two columns and place them pair after pair into the controlling cells (K3, L3), then it would copy cells H2 through L3 (updated stats) to a new sheet after each copy operation - so that I will finally have a list of statistics for all of the input pairs.

## Copy Cells So That Copying Formula Results In References As Shifting Horizontally

May 4, 2014

I began to ponder a way to copy down cells so that the copying of the formulas results in references as shifting horizontally instead of vertically. One particular reason that this occurred to me had to do with my attempting to use Excel to make more orderly text copied from Adobe.

So, for example, if I copied text from Adobe, I would paste it in Excel. Thirty lines of text would past vertically into a column, from Row A1 to Row A30, with each line of text in its own row. I wanted to figure out a way so that in adjacent columns, I could put it so that I would have a set of formulas reading in =A1 in Column C cell/row 1, =A2 in Column D cell 1, =A3 in Column E cell/row 1, =A4 in Column F cell/row 1, =A5 in Column G cell/row 1, and so forth. I realized that if I copied this down, in the second row, the result would entail references to A2, A3, A4, A5, A6. I would prefer that the references update to A6, A7, A8, A9, and A10.

## Copy Formula With Absolute Reference & Increment Row Number Every X Cells

Mar 25, 2009

I am creating a spreadsheet which creates a bulk of data from a front sheet.

The question is:
Is there a way to automatically copy a fixed formula for 100 cells using one fixed cell reference such as \$A\$1 and then automatically after 100 cells replace \$A\$1 with \$A\$2, after another 100 with \$A\$3 and so on?

Explanation with Example:

For example, Sheet1 contains the words "Green Tree" in Cell A1 and Sheet2 will then place "Green Tree" into 100 different sentences such as:

Plant a Green Tree
Grow a Green Tree today

This would be created with the formula ="Grow a "&'Sheet1'!\$A\$1& " today"

After 100 different variations using the formula I want to change that formula to reference cell A2 on Sheet1.

I know if I place "Red Tree" in Cell A2 and use the formula ="Grow a "&'Sheet1'!\$A\$2& " today" I can do this manually using find and replace for the 100 cells, but I want to do this for 100 different variations of Green Tree to create a 10,000 different sentences so I'd need to find and replace 100 times!

## Copy Selected Cells And Paste As Formula With Original Cell Reference

Nov 20, 2012

Wanted to know if there is a macro that can copy the selection of cells and paste it as a formula with original cell refernce.

For Example :

Copy Selection Cells - Say Cells A1 B1 & C1
and Paste It as formula In Cell D1 as =A1+B1+C1

## Copy Column Reference Number Values Only For Updated Rows?

Feb 17, 2014

I have an workbook (AUTHPbWB) that has a sheet(Replacement) where data is input by end-user. it also has a button(Accept) which stores data in another worksheet based AUTHPbWB cell value D5. The variant data is in range B8-h15 of AUTHPbWM/replacement. When the accept button is clicked, it searches the database sheet for the next available row and inserts the new records. The database sheet has column A that has predefined values that should not change.

what im looking to do is, on clicking the accept button and when the records update in database, the corresponding values in column A of the database sheet get copied to another worksheet (data) only for the new records updated.

## A Formula To Reference Another Page And Skip Cells To Get To Desired Results?

May 14, 2014

I am trying to find a formula that will allow me to reference another page in my spread sheet. In my scenario the row I am referencing has 5 consectutive numbers after the reference point I would use for a vlookup. These numbers are all zeros except for one number in each row which will be a positive number greater than zero. I want my formula to check the first cell in the row, if it is not a zero it will show that number, but if this cell contains 0, then it moves over to the next cell. If all the cells in the row have a zero, then i just want zero to appear on my summary sheet. I tried to do a vlookup with an IF function, but I couldn't get it to work. I have attached a sample of what the spreadsheet looks like.Example doc.xlsx

## Copy Non Zero Formula Results

Sep 4, 2007

I have 4 source workbooks and a master workbook which is linked to the source workbooks, if the source workbooks have no value in specfic cells the master workbook which is linked to it shows a 0 (not a problem). Now if I want to copy only cells which have a value other than the 0 to the end of used rows on another sheet on the Master workbook using VB I run into a problem because it sees 0 as a value and copies as well.

The issue is how do I stop the 0 showing and not being seen as a value. This 0 shows regardless of format.

## Copy / Paste For Results Of Formula In Column To Row?

Jun 13, 2014

I am attempting to copy the results of a formula in a column to a row. The data in the column is in a different worksheet. Although pasting the data using the transpose option in the drop down menu works, I really want to have the results of the formula returned. The reason for this is the results are variable based on the formula.

## Copy And Paste Except Null Value Formula Results

Feb 19, 2009

From time to time the data on worksheet x changes and it is picked up by worksheet y and I need to copy and paste the new information to sheet z. I've been fiddling with the code to get it to paste the values and pick up the new values, but it won't.

I need to adjust the code to copy to the last column, and the last row, and copy just the values. Ifm unable to do t his.

I've attached the sheet so you'll see that the data will only copy once.

Go to worksheet z and press the command button.

I got the code from this site: ...

## Copy Rows From One Sheet To Another Based On Formula Results

Feb 7, 2014

I have a report that is run weekly that shows items that have been returned over the last 3 months. The report shows the original date of purchase and the return date, but not the number of days since the purchase and the return. I need to have any items that were returned over 15 days go to a new sheet and display just those rows of information.

## Alter Existing Formula To Copy Specific Cells In Row Instead Of Copy Entire Column?

May 1, 2014

I need the macro to look at cells B9:B84 on the Sheet1 tab of the Cost Template. If it finds an x I need it to copy the 3 cells to the right of the x and paste them in a template. For example if it sees an x in cell B9 it would copy cells C9, D9 and E9, open the Purchase Order to the Detail tab, then paste it to cells B3, C3 and D3. It would continue looking for an x down to B84. So if it found 5 cells with x, it would give me 5 instances of the Purchase Order with 3 cells pasted into each.

I've attached my Cost Template and the Purchase Order it needs to copy to. In the Cost Template is a macro called Create_PO. This is what I was trying to alter to make this happen. I can't seem to get it right! FYI in case it matters, I had to change the Cost Template from .xltm to .xlsm in order to upload it on this site.

## Copy Down Formula To Reference To The Right

Mar 25, 2014

In DB2 I have = DB1. How can I drag this down and for each row I go down, I want to reference one more cell to the left of DB1, so in DB3, I would have DA1, and so on.

## Copy Formula But After Certain Row Change Reference?

Apr 26, 2014

I am using below formula to make cell link i m using below formula in column C

I want to copy this formula to range("C4:C2000"), now I want after 43 row ( in cell C47 =(=INDIRECT("V5")) change the V4 to V5
and
cell C90 = (=INDIRECT("V6"))
cell C133 = (=INDIRECT("V7")).......and continue till C2000,,, i mean after 43 rows it change the V4 ot v5, v6, v7, v8, v9.......

## Copy Formula To Reference Next Worksheet

Feb 20, 2007

I have my inventory based in excel. Each brand has it's own file. Each file has several worksheets with all of the items, prices, etc. on them. When I get a shipment, I fill out the next worksheet in line. This way- I have a record of my inventory and a worksheet for each shipment. It has been working very well. The first worksheet in each file is a summary page that shows me the grand totals, shipping charge, etc. from each filled in worksheet page. the problem is I have to build that summary page for each worksheet I fill in.

I would like a way to tell excel to give the same information as I requested in the previous row, but the next worksheet down.

## Copy Formula Without Copying Reference

Apr 1, 2012

I would like to copy only the IF Formula without copying the cell reference. Say for example I have a formula shown below:

BEFORE
A1=IF('PW216'!G7>=0.9999,0.999,'PW216'!G7)

AFTER
A2=IF('PW216'!AC7>=0.9999,0.999,'PW216'!AC7)

My formula is =IF('PW216'!G7>=0.9999,0.999,'PW216'!G7) is in Red Font color. I want to copy only the formula but when I paste it, it will as well copy the cell reference.

## Copy Formula To Different Worksheet & Reference That Sheet

Oct 22, 2007

Currently I have a worksheet which is organized to have two pages on it. I will try to explain, i.e. imagine one page of the worksheet in the hypothetical range of A1:D26, then another page in the range E27:K50. So it is staggered on the same sheet. Is there an easy way to copy the range of E27:K50 onto another worksheet.

Aside from the regular copy and paste, I am having problems because there are formulas in the 2nd range (E27:K50) which loose their references once copied.
i.e the formula SUM(A1:A10) I would like to be SUM('Master List'!A1:A10) on the new sheet. Is there an easier way then going through all the formulas and adding the master list part.

## Copy Relative Formula & Use Row Reference From Variable

Mar 5, 2008

I have the following code which Clears the content of a cell. The next thing I want to have happen is to have another cell equal a formula but make that formula relative to its place. The formula is the following =IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(F56,Routes_All,2,0)),0,VLOOKUP(F56,Routes_All,2,0))

I am not sure how to paste it where the row changes depending on where it is pasted. Here is the code that does not work...

Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Worksheets("2008 Log").Select
Dim cRow
cRow = ActiveCell.Row '

Cells(cRow, Range("Column_Type_Of_Ride").Column).ClearContents

Cells(cRow, Range("column_duration").Column).value = "=IF(ISERROR(VLOOKUP(F56,Routes_All,2,0)),0,VLOOKUP(F56,Routes_All,2,0))"
End Sub

As you can see, no matter where I paste it it will always refer to row "F". How can I have it refer to row "cRow"?

## Copy Formula From 1 Workbook To Another With Reference Changing

Apr 17, 2008

I want to copy a formula from Workbook A to Workbook B and have the formula configured with Workbook B's spreadsheet cells, not Workbook A's.

## Increment Formula Reference Relative To Copy To Range

May 26, 2008

In my data validation I have the following formula as the Source: =INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE(\$F\$2," ","_")). I want to be able to copy the cell and paste it into another cell and have the formula update to reference the new cell. Currently the validation is for cell G2 and references F2. I want to be able to copy G2 and paste it in G3-G6 having the formula update so it refrences F3-F6.

## Copy Formula To Another Sheet And Simultaneously Change Reference Cell?

Apr 29, 2014

I have an excel workbook that has many spreadsheets (each one sheet has a client name)I have another excel workbook that has these client names on one sheet (on a list) and next to every name I have a number (i.e total turnover of the year).

In the first workbook (where every client has his sheet (tab named after the client) I want to have a cell that equals to the sum of some cells on the other workbook, that refer to the specific client

(it looks like this ='[comissions NF 10-14.xls]comissions 14(auto)'!\$J\$81+'[comissions NF 10-14.xls]comissions 14(auto)'!\$J\$197+'[comissions NF 10-14.xls]comissions 14(auto)'!\$J\$313+'[comissions NF 10-14.xls]comissions 14(auto)'!\$J\$429)

I want this sum to be added to every sheet of this workbook. each sheet refers to a client, so \$J\$81, \$J\$197 etc must be changed for the correct cell that refers to the name of the client. The tab names are alphabetical and so s the list.

Is there any way to do it, without re-entering the formula to each one?

## Formula Copy & Paste: Reference Other Worksheets Within The Workbook, Are Copied Over As Links

Apr 28, 2007

I'm trying to perform a copy & paste operation by hand which to me should be easy in theory. I have a worksheet whose formulas have been corrupted. I have a backup of this sheet- I'd like to copy the backup sheet into the workbook. The problem is that the formulas, which reference other worksheets within the workbook, are copied over as links to the backup workbook instead of the new workbook they are being copied too. This seems simple, but how do I copy the worksheet and the references without having to go through all of the references by hand to only apply to the local book.

## Change Formula To The Results Of The Formula For Cells That Have Results

May 9, 2006

I have a range that has formulas that are based on other fcells outside the range.

What I want to do is, if the cell has a value to remove the formula and paste the results. If the filed is blank (no results from the formula) to leave the formula in place.

There could be a marco to run when this process is needed.

example attached

## Copy Formula Down With Data In Columns?

May 3, 2013

I have this formula:

=IF(T8=2,"6",IF(T8=1,"3",IF(T8=0,"0")))+IF(T9=2,"4",IF(T9=1,"2",IF(T9=0,"0")))+
IF(T10=2,"6",IF(T10=1,"3",IF(T10=0,"0")))+IF(T11=2,"4",IF(T11=1,"2",IF(T11=0,"0")))

and when I copy it down, I would like all the t's replaced by u's (since the data is in columns)

## Copy Formula Across Columns But Increment Row

Jun 1, 2008

I am trying to link cells between two worksheets and am having some difficulty. For instance, in E17, I want the cell to reference cell H41 on sheet 2 and for F17 I want it to reference H42 on sheet 2, etc. However, using the formula =Sheet2!H41 when I cut and paste the formula it changes it to =Sheet2!I41 (ie it changes the column and keeps the row constant). I want to find a way to fill a large amount of cells this way and would prefer to not have to manually change each cell individually. I assume I would use the indirect( and the column( commands but can't seem to figure that one out.

## Copy And Paste Columns Based On Formula

Apr 20, 2007

I need to copy certain columns from one sheet to another sheet based on a formlua on the date.

So, on 'Master Sheet' I have a column called 'Date'.

I would like a formula, or macro, which does the following.

If date (column D) is over 2 weeks old (today's date - 14 days) then copy columns A, D, S and T to another work sheet called 'Not Attended' and paste them into columns A,B,C, and D.

## Formula In Cell Becomes Ineffective When Other Cells Updated From Userform

Apr 30, 2014

Contents formula =countif(B1:D1,"YES").

This works fine.

Column1 has simple formula to count if text is equal to 'YES'.

But when I double click any cell in column 1 to open userform and update values in column 2,3,4 then the formula in column1 does not work.

Sample book attached : UFM.xlsm‎

## Formula Changes To Value - Need To Copy As Formula To Other Cells

May 22, 2014

I have searched and unable to find how to keep a formula as a formula in a cell so I can copy it to other cells. Every time I enter a formula, example: =if(a2>0,trim(v2)&"."&trim(x2),"") the cell immediately displays the value and I am unable to copy the formula to other cells because I get the same value all the way down the sheet. Example star.plus, star.plus, star.plus... Every cell in the range should have a different value and change whenever the cells in column v or x change. I also tried entering this formula on another workbook which displays correctly the formula in a cell and then copying and attempting to paste onto the existing worksheet but the past and paste special are greyed out.

## Copy/Fill Down Formula To Maximum Row Of Last Cell In Columns

May 27, 2008

In a worksheet I retrieve data from a SQL query. Now I have to add 5 different calculations per row and each calculation will be stored in a new cell (so 5 columns will be created)

I want to do this with a loop macro and calculate this till the last "filled" row. The number of rows differs every month.

What loop code should I use and can somebody give me an example of the VBA code.
Note that some formulas contains nested If-functions.

## Excel 2007 :: Copy And Paste Formula To Specific Columns

Aug 27, 2012

I need to copy a specific column range K18:M180 to only columns that have an "X" on a specific row. Below is my small example.

In this example it would be in columns OPQ and WXY

Excel 2007IJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXY
121314xxxxxx1516\$Units\$/Units\$Units\$/Units\$Units\$/Units\$Units\$/Units
1718aaa180.0 0.00 19bbb0.0 0.00 20ccc1.6 0.11 14.74 21
ddd9.0 0.53 16.93 22eee7.3 0.45 16.22 232425Sheet1

## Cells Display Formula, Not The Results Of The Formula

May 29, 2009

To get cell to display results of formula I must edit (F2) and hit enter. Is there an easy way to do this in bulk rather than editing and hitting enter on hundreds of cells?

Example of formula:
=IF(COUNTBLANK(K2)=1,"",CONCATENATE("*** ",K1,": ",K2," "))
