Copy Rows Into Sheet According To Entries In Column
Feb 17, 2009
I copy rows of data according the Workgroup entries in Column C and paste them in to the relevant team sheet so that it is separated and printed off. Currently I am doing this manually, as the report length is variable and can be a few hundred rows or sometimes a few thousand which takes up some time. I know I can use the auto filter option, but as I currently use a macro to format this report I was hoping to include it whilst it is being formatted. Also would like to apply all borders to report so its easier to read when printed and a comments column at the end, but this can be done later.
There are teams and 27 workgroups to separate into each team, I have to do this everyday and was hoping to save some time here. I've attached a sample work book as an example.
I have a single sheet that lists available items, prices, etc. When doing quotes, you simply put y/n in Col:A for each item. I then want a simple macro that will copy all of the rows with "yes" into a second sheet. Sample data with end result attached.
I did try and butcher this macro to do what I want, and whilst it does copy data across, it's not really working. Firstly as I think it is searching along a row and copy columns, whereas I need to search a column and then copy rows.
I have I workbook that contains 2 sheets. The first sheet "Business Objects" is the master list. The second sheet "Gene" contains similar data but is incomplete. There is a unique identifer for both sheets and that is item ID. what I would like to do is look at the Item ID column on sheet1 compare it to SS# on sheet two and copy any rows from sheet1 to the end of the sheet in sheet 2. I have found in my searches on this forum a bit of code that identifies the ones in sheet1 that are not in Sheet2 and highlights them red(which is not neccessary for me, but I am struggling to figure out how to take that and paste it to sheet2.
I need to move the rows from one sheet to another sheet upon clicking the ‘Submit’ button.
I will manually update my efforts in ‘Sheet 1’ and when I click ‘Submit’, it should “copy” the rows to the next sheet (Sheet 2). However, it should not duplicate the entries irrespective of clicking Submit multiple times. Obviously, while clicking ‘Submit’ it should check the entry for that particular employee name and date in the ‘Sheet 2’ and remove that completely and update the new entries and this should avoid duplicates for that date. Every time when I add new entries for a different name and for dirrerent employee, it should keep appending the Sheet 2.
In addition, it should avoid copying the blank rows from Sheet 1 (S. No column will not be blank usually) to Sheet 2.
All this should happen upon clicking the Submit button.
Basically I have an Excel workbook with 6 different worksheets containing data. In each sheet I have two columns that are the same in each sheet, called "Category" (column F) and "amount" (column G). In one of the sheets I also have "Category" and "amount" in column H and I.
I want to write a VBA code that copies these columns (until blank row) and pastes them underneath eachother in the summary sheet.
Automatically copy rows to new sheet in excel when column marked with an X. If a column is marked with an X, I need to copy this row to a new sheet. So if a column C is marked with X, I need to copy this row in Sheet2 , if a column D is marked with and X, I need to copy this row below next empty row in Sheet2, if a column E is marked with X, I need to copy this row in next empty row in Sheet2.
If a column is marked with an X I need to copy this row to a new sheet. So if a column C is marked with and X I need to copy this row to Sheet2 , if a column D is marked with and X I need to copy this row to Sheet3 and if a column E is marked with and X I need to copy this row to Sheet4., Please can someone help with the VBA code to make this work?
I have a file that has two sheets, I have some formulas in the first sheet named "Data",What i would like to have is, If column G in the sheet Data is "Closed", then i want that particular row to be cut from the sheet " Data" and pated in to the Sheet "Done".
From column A,(lets say cell 10 onwards) I need to copy all the unique entries into column B (cell 10 onwards). However, I dont know what length column A will be. What would be the best way in VBA/Excel to do so ?
What I need to do is sort certain entries in longer list (column A, it is in .csv format and needs to be in it so coordinates and names and ID, all sorted with commas) and I have another list (column C) which is shorter list of certain IDs. I googled and tried and got some results for the basic structure but the fuction seems to fail. It doesn't matter how I get that third list done, but there is only one criteria: since the list in column A is really long and those entries need to keep the .csv formatting, the function should copy that info what is in the matching cells.
Let me try to put it simple: .csv cells from column A that have matching ID from column C should be copied to column B (or N).
I have designed a spreadsheet and i want a seperate worksheet (sheet3 for arguments sake) to retrieve customer data from worksheet 2 - The data I required is the customer data currently contained on columns A - H and there are around 50 rows. (A2 - I51). I want the seperate sheet to identify entries that have today's date in column I and then list them in Worksheet 3.
Im having difficulties with the syntax for retrieving the data from a seperate worksheet. There may be several entries for the same date and I want to the seperate sheet to report all customer data in worksheet 3? Also, if the date falls on a weekend I would like to retrieve any data for the weekend on the Monday so all cases can be reviewed.
I need to build a macro which copies 3 rows every day and pastes the row data into an identical sheet. The three rows will have column "D" as =today(). As the days progress the three rows will change accordingly ( tag to the today's date)
e.g. 28/1/2014 28/1/2014 28/1/2014
I need the macro to recognize the date when pressed and copy the corresponding rows of data and paste them into an identical sheet with the same date. The second sheet is an archive sheet. The date will tick over as per the calendar.
I have a worksheet, "District", that has names of team members from A2:A (The number of team members will vary, so I would need the macro to stop when the list ends). I need these to be distributed to column A on another sheet, "Input", from A11 down until it hits a row that has a blank cell in column F. I've tried a couple of things, but just can't seem to get it to work.
i have a workbook that has a lot of sheets but i need to pull information from the one sheet "Veneer Log" i Need it to make new sheets with the same heading as on the "Veneer Log" (Rows 1 & 2) Sheet but it needs to be filtered by the "Product" Column (H) with a new sheet made for all the diffrent products i.e. Dimensional, Drywall, Corners - Thin V., Accents,..... so each product will have a new sheet with i am hoping someone can help me with this. This log changes Daily and it would be nice to have a sheet with only the same product on it to compare new orders so we can batch run. i hope i have given you enough information so someone can help me with this. i have attached a sample log the real log has about 10 worksheet for diffrent departments but i only need info from the Veneer Log Sheet.
I want DELETE the rows that contains 0 (zero or -) in column F (SALDO BRUTO), when I click the Button (Clear). And How I can copy from this sheet to a new sheet in this workbook, but the names of new sheet automatic rename to next date or 2, and next when I click the Button "Copy to New Sheet".
The senior members have made it less intimidating to start writing code. Infact I picked up a DUMMIES book and a Macro book and it's been a lot of fun. Anyway here is my code that I have created thus far.
HTML Code: Sub ReportExtract() Sheets("Sheet1").Range("B2").Copy Destination:=Sheets("Sheet2").Range("C4") Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A2").Copy Destination:=Sheets("Sheet2").Range("C6") '
[Code]....
Essentially what I am trying to do is copy these cells from sheet 1 to sheet 2 and then save it as another file using the name of C6&"Text String *Report" This would essentially take the first record A2 - CL2 and then delete that record and move onto the next row 3 and loop through and create another file with the same name C6(Sheet2)&"Report Name" Sheet 2 is the template where the data from the rows will drop into. I have those called out above in the code. It works just fine. I'm stuck though with how to copy the file and move threw all the records and saving them as separate files. Just to make sure I am clear it's 1. Copy data from sheet1 to sheet2 (Template). 2. Then save that file with the file name as cell C6&"some text" concatenated. Loop through sheet1 grab the next record and rinse lather repeat. Just a few weeks ago I was struggled to create macros and now I can copy. Pretty weak I know but I really enjoy this, in fact I sold all my books and just have VBA material so I stay focused.
The last few days I have been trying to figure this out with no luck whatsoever. I am using Excel 2010 32-bit with power query on a Windows 7 64-bit computer. I was going the use the html creator, but the dl link was down and I had to use screenshots.
I have a sheet titled "LeadSheet" that contains multiple data blocks of information (around 20). I have attached 2 examples of these data blocks and 2 examples of results needed below. I tried to create them so they would fill in the gaps of my explanation.
All of these data blocks are 7 columns wide and vary in row size from 10-250. The blocks of data all have titles on the 5th row, but are not headers, and then data beginning directly underneath. I hesitate calling them ranges because I only selected one data block as a range and named it "lead1" and then stopped not knowing if I was headed the right direction.
I first tried to create a table out of the range, but was unable to do so because the "Name" column is an array. The phone and address columns are populated by VLOOKUP. And although the images show the column names as the same for name, phone and address theyare actually different, like name-firm1, name-firm17,address-firmxyz, etc, etc. I not putting that in the images. The "Option 1", "Option 2", "Option 3" and "Option 4" columns are generated using a =IF formula.
I have another sheet titled "ResultsSheet".I'm needing a way or code to copy entire rows from the multiple data blocks/ranges in the "LeadSheet", and paste it in the"ResultsSheet", based on any value occurring in any of the"Option" columns within the individual data blocks/ranges along with appending the "Option #" title to either end of the copied row.
The "LeadSheet" is constantly being updated so information is being added and taken off all the time. That being said, is there anyway to make it update as soon as the "LeadSheet" does or on a timed interval so that the"ResultsSheet" is always up to date. And also prevent it from continuing to re-copy over duplicates of information that has not changed?
Ifthe "Option #" result is the exact same percentage then the order does not matter between them.
Ifwithin the same data block/range both "Option" columns have data it is usually because of some error and is most likely bad datathat does not need to be copied. i.e. "Steven Seagal". If that makes this task much more difficult I can live with it.
If within two or more different data blocks/ranges the same name and info appears that if fine because the "Option #" will always be different. i.e. "Chuck Norris".
I am also trying to make the "ResultSheet" ordered from largest percentage to lowest, but I assume that should be done once the data is on the "ResultsSheet". No headers or titles are necessary on the "ResultsSheet"
I am working in the attached spreadsheet. For anyone who does not wish to open the link, let's say these sheets are titled 'Sheet1' and 'Sheet2'.
Sheet2 looks like this:
Year Cat Name 2013 4 Sal 2013 4 Pat 2013 3 Pat
[Code]....
Now, how may I pull this data into a summary sheet (Sheet1) that skips over any instances where column A ("Year") is blank so it looks like this:
Year Cat Name 2013 4 Sal 2013 4 Pat 2013 3 Pat 2013 2 Pat 2013 5 Bob
[Code]...
Note: All columns are the EXACT same across each sheet(including Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3), if that extra piece of information works.
PS It is fine if, in order for a formula to work, I need to copy and paste the formula for the length of rows per each Sheet to consolidate.
EDIT:
So, in my industry, any summary-level data (shown on Sheet1) must have a linked reference to a particular sheet (Sheet2, Sheet3, etc.) so the user knows where the raw data came from. This is to ensure increased accuracy of data and minimize human error (like, if for example, I accidentally didn't copy and paste all the rows correctly).
I have uploaded the actual sheet to show what the data actually look like. I am trying to pull in 2013 data into my "Summary Page" and would like to have all the data linked to the '2013' sheet but skip any blank rows.
I'm trying to write a program for work. One sheet (whereiseverything.xls) will have a list of parts column E and where it is in the process column (k). Column E of this sheet will have multiple part numbers. (Sometimes duplicated.) I would like to figure out how to write a code to Auto filter (whereiseverything.xls) sheet and copy only one P/N from (whereiseverything.xls) column E onto another Workbook Worksheet (Commit status.xls) column. After that the sheet must copy all of the locations of that P/N from whereiseverything.xls column K into and under the P/N of the Commitstatus.xls.
It will continue to autofilter and copy from where is everything, the "one" p/n and all of its locations into another empty column of Commitstatus.xls until it no longer has part numbers to autofilter on whereiseverything. I am extremely green on VBA programming but here is my first attempt.
Windows("Where is everything commits .xls").Activate Windows("whereiseverything[1].xxx").Activate Columns("D:D").Select Selection.AutoFilter Windows("Where is everything commits .xls").Activate
Windows("whereiseverything[1].xxx").Activate Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:="7516113-905" \<--this Is one p/n Columns("J:J").Select Selection.Copy....................................
I have two different Excel reports and the data needs to be copied from each column on one spreadsheet and pasted to the bottom of the equivalent column on the other spreadsheet.
So, is it possible to get a macro that will copy the data from one column then paste it to the next free cell in the column on the other spreadsheet.
If I could get some code to do one column then this should be enough to get me started and I could apply this to the other columns I need to copy.
i want to Sort by column E Type, which i can do manually easily.but then i want to run a macro that will copy all the rows with values,ie.Express Checkout Payment Received etc to another worksheet and name that worksheet with Express Checkout Payment Received.
I have a requirement to copy a few column(like a,d,e,f) from sheet1 and paste it to sheet2 column. where column a of sheet1 will be copy to column d of sheet2.if anything data is already there then overwrite that column.
I have a Excel workbook that has 31 sheets. One column(H) of each Sheets will have cells that will contain the word "OPEN" or "CLOSED". When I execute a macro or VBA code I need to scan each row of that column of the current active sheet. If the word is "OPEN" I need to copy all of the data in that row to the next sheet. If the word is "CLOSED" nothing has to happen. Before the rows are inserted into the next sheet. I have to find the first empty row and start inserting at that point. The sheets are labeled 1-32 so if I am on sheet 10 and I find the word "OPEN" in column H, the current row needs to be copied to the next empty roe on sheet 11, etc.
I have a sheet with about 7 columns. If any text in column B contains the word "Product", I need to cut that row from sheet1 and paste it into the first open cell in column A on sheet 2. it then needs to loop through each column to do so.
This is what I have so far
Code: Sub Moverows() Dim lastrow As Long Dim row_index As Long Application.ScreenUpdating = False lastrow = ActiveSheet.Cells(Rows.Count, "B").End(xlUp).Row For row_index = lastrow - 1 To 1 Step -1
I have 3 rows in sheet1, say rows 1-3. In sheet 2, I want to be able to copy the 3 rows in sheet1 and past it right before a row that contains the unique value "XYXYXY". I will attach this macro to a button.
The value 'XYXYXY' is truly unique and could be located in any row in sheet 2.
I also want to be able to do the reverse, that is delete the top 3 rows above the unique values 'XYXYXY'. I also attach this macro to a button.
I have a sheet(sheet1) that has a couple thousand rows of data. Column C starting at Row 4 has customer names. What I want to do is to have a macro to run looking at range A4:H5000, and make a new sheet for each different customer and copy the data in each row on to that customers sheets.
