CountIf Frequency Based On 2 Criteria

Mar 26, 2013

I worked out the formula below to count if frequency. However, now I need to work it out for 2 criterias.

Count if I:I = A2 and if R:R = Closed

What I have so far is this:

{=COUNT(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(ticketInformation!I:I=A2,ticketInformation!B:B),ticketInformation!B:B),1))}

CountIf: Frequency Distribution Of The Yields Column

Feb 2, 2010

I'm working on has me making a frequency distribution of the yields column. If you look at M6 on the spreadsheet i'm trying to use the formula:

=COUNTIF($I$6:$I$35, "<=L6")

to represent all yields that are less than or equal to 0, in the next box (M7) I want to represent all yields that are greater than 0% and less than or equal to 1%. etc until I reach 7%, however the original formula isn't working and I don't know whats wrong with it.

COUNTIF Based On Two Criteria

Sep 9, 2007

I have data in two columns. Column B has calculated string values of "BMAJOR" and "BMINOR" and column C has date values.

I am trying to get a count of how many occurences of "BMAJOR" or "BMINOR" occur for every week starting today. I have column AJ which returns today() and column AK which returns today()+7. I can individually count number of occurences of dates that fall within these dates with the following formula. This for row 2.

=COUNTIF('Decision Tree'!$C$4:$C$215,"

Frequency With Conditions / Criteria

Mar 6, 2008

I've tried to adapt a formula I've found in the forums. But the result comes back at a figure much lower than I expect.
I have a column of numbers (column J)that I would like the frequency of but only if the date contained in another column (column R) is beyond a certain date.

Columns J & R do contain blank cells.

This is my adaption: -

=COUNT(1/FREQUENCY(
IF('Current Bonds'!$R$13:$R$490>39173,
IF('Current Bonds'!$J$13:$J$490>0,'Current Bonds'!$J$13:$J$490)),
IF('Current Bonds'!$R$13:$R$490>39173,
IF('Current Bonds'!$J$13:$J$490>0,'Current Bonds'!$J$13:$J$490))))

COUNT Or FREQUENCY With Multiple Criteria

Jan 5, 2009

I have a list of 267 individuals who are each in one of 4 class designations (A,B,C, & D). They produce widgets for me. The individuals’ names are in A2:A268, their class designation is in B2:B268; and the number of widgets they each produced is in C2:C268. Row 1 is a header row.

I used the FREQUENCY function, for the first time, to show how many of the individuals produced 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and 60+ widgets last year. NOW, I’d like to take it a step further and show the number of individuals that produced widgets in each of these number groupings, but want it further split out by their A, B, C, D, class designation. So, I want to see how many individuals in the “A” class that produced 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc. widgets; and how many individuals in the “B” class produced those numbers, etc.

I’ve been playing around with using the COUNT and IF functions together and the FREQUENCY and IF functions, but have not been successful. Am I making this more complicated than it is? By the way, their class designation doesn’t have any relation to the number of widgets they produced, and the data is sorted alphabetically by the individuals’ names.

FREQUENCY Formula With Multiple Criteria

Jan 10, 2008

I hope someone can help me with adding an additional criterion to the formula below, which works and provides an accurate answer. The array formula is:

{SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF('Sheet1'!$O$5:$O$315="",IF(Sheet1'!$B$5:$B$315"",MATCH("~"&'Sheet1'!$B$5:$B$315,'Sheet1'!$B$5:$B$315&"",0))),ROW('Sheet1'!$B$5:$B$315)-ROW('Sheet1'!$B$5)+1),1))}

Where Column O has either a date or is blank.
Where Column B has a unique ID number which occurs more than once.

What I need to add is one more criteria from Sheet1,
Where Column P has a unique names which occurs more than once.

I tried two changes:
1. Adding an additional IF statement as follows: SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF('Sheet1'!$P$5:$P$315=A$8,IF('Sheet1'!$O$5:$O$315="", ... Which I couldn't get to take; and
2. Adding a IF AND statement as follows: SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(AND('Sheet1'!$P$5:$P$315=A$8,'Sheet1'!$O$5:$O$315=""), ... Which took but gives me a #VALUE error.

Grey Out / Disable Cells In A Row Based On Frequency Value

Feb 14, 2012

Essentially, I'm creating a spreadsheet which contains a list of staff in rows, and the months of the year as columns. It is to record certain company checks which must be done (e.g. driving licence check). When a check is complete, the date it was done is entered under the corresponding month. Certain checks (e.g. driving license) only need to be done every 6 months. What I'm trying to do is find a formula/vba to look at each row, determine where (which month) the date was entered in, and grey out the 5 months in front, meaning the next check is required in 6 months time.

Ideally, the frequency of this check is dynamic, and can reference a cell (e.g. might change to every 3 months etc).

Randomly Select From Alphabet Based On Letter Frequency Distribution

Jan 8, 2008

I want to randomly select letters from this distribution (to make random words) but I want the more frequent letters in the distribution to be selected more often so that the word I form have the same distribution. I have the feeling there is a simple solution to this but I couldn't see anything other than the frequency function that I thought I might be able to use. I could populate an array with letters present in numbers according to their frequency and then randomly select from it but is there a more elegant solution? .......

Return Range Of Numerical Values In Single Column Based On Frequency Percentage

Oct 25, 2005

I have a single column of numerical values that may repeat many times within
the column.

I require a flexible Formula:
Use an Input Cell for the specified and changeable Percentage(s) %.
Column may be filtered – so only take into account Visible Filtered Cells.

The Formula will calculate and Return the numerical range of values that fall
between the specified percentage % (using the Input Cell) e.g.; 70%.

The Formula should Return two numeric values: a Start Value and an End Value
– NOT necessarily the minimum and maximum per se BUT the MIN and MAX of the
values that appear 70% of the time in the column; therefore, taking into
account Repeat / Duplicate values.

The calculated Results: the two numeric values will be returned to separate
cells on a new Sheet.

COUNTIF With Two Criteria

Nov 29, 2009

I use Excel 2003 and I have the following problem:
I have 3 columns,
A containing a list of employees (MICHAEL, BOB, MIKE, etc.)
B containing their work starting hour (8.00, 8.30, 9.00, etc.)
C containing the possible employee absence reason (ILLNESS, HOLIDAY, INJURY, etc.)

I would like to write a formula that counts the number of employees who have a work starting hour within 7.00 and are not absent. A possible table is this one:

NAME START ABSENCE
MICHAEL 6.30
BOB 8.30
MIKE 9.00 HOLIDAY
BRIAN 7.00
TOM 6.30 ILLNESS

The formula I'm looking for should calculate "2" (because MICHAEL and BRIAN are the only 2 employees starting work hour within 7.00 and not absent). As I have thought it could be useful, in another worksheet I have inserted: in A column the list of all the starting work hours: 0.00 (A2), 0.30 (A3), 1.00 (A4), 1.30 (A5), ... 7.00 (A16), 7.30 (A17), ... 23.30 (A49).

in B column the list of all the absence reasons: ILLNESS (B2), HOLIDAY (B3), INJURY (B4). I have defined 2 names, the first called EARLY_MORNING (that I have associated to the range from 0.00 to 7.00 of work starting hours column, that is A2:A16), the second called ABSENCE_REASON (that I have associated to the range (B2:B4) of absence reasons' column). What kind of formula can I write to obtain what I want (using the 2 names EARLY_MORNING and ABSENCE_REASONS defined in the other worksheet)?

COUNTIF Criteria In VBA

What vba function can I use that checks criteria much like SUMIF or COUNTIF uses? In other words, say you want to write COUNTIF that only includes visible cells...

For Each cell In rng
If cell.RowHeight <> 0 And cell.ColumnWidth <> 0 Then

CountVIf = CountVIf + Evaluate(cmd)
End If
Next cell
End Function

How can I do this without having to rely on Evaluate("COUNTIF...."?

Using Countif With Multiple Corresponding Criteria

Feb 12, 2010

what I'm trying to do is to make a logbook for a machining center. Each part has an op10 and an op20, essentially front and back. And each part number falls into the category of OS or FS. I've used AND logic to make tables in hidden columns to be used by a countif statement to determine my totals. I.e. to determine if a scroll is completed, op20 has a a value of 1 AND column C is "OS".

I use
=IF(AND(A9=1;C9="OS");1;" ")
Then I countif criteria is 1 in the column i created with that statement.

That works just fine. Now what I want to do is to be able to create daily totals of OS and FS by simply modifying a variable date in a formula. So I'd like to essentially say: Countif Column C =OS and Corresponding column D = 1, and corresponding Shift date = 10.02.12(date to be variable). I'm at a wall here. Is there any way to do this somewhat simply?
