Frequency Of Specific Value Based On Date
Dec 19, 2011how many times "-1" appears in column AM for dates (column B) that are 09/14/2011 or later?
Column B = dates
Column AM = 1, -1, or 2
how many times "-1" appears in column AM for dates (column B) that are 09/14/2011 or later?
Column B = dates
Column AM = 1, -1, or 2
I'm trying to workout how to take a known initial date a repeating frequency and work out the next due date from today.
Example
Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014
Frequency :- every 5 weeks
Current Date :- 9th of March 2014
Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)
I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)
I am trying to create a calculator which will show start date and end date based on the specific date provided.
EX: column A has January 1, 2013, column B has Wednesday, Column C should have a start date which supposed to be 4 days ago (December 28).
In column A, I have dates.
In column C, I have shopping centre locations.
One or more sales promoters can be rostered at shopping centre locations performing full shifts and half shifts.
How can count the unique dates associated with the shopping centre using a Start date and an End date? Example below.
Col A Col B Col C Col D
02/03/2014 Joe Shopping Centre #1 D1=01/03/2014 (start date)
02/03/2014 Bob Shopping Centre #2 D2=10/03/2014 (end date)
02/03/2014 Lee Shopping Centre #1
07/03/2014 Tim Shopping Centre #1
07/03/2014 Kay Shopping Centre #3
12/03/2014 Joe Shopping Centre #1
The results for the Frequency formula should show:
Shopping Centre #1 - 2 (dates)
Shopping Centre #2 - 1 (date)
Shopping Centre #3 - 1 (date)
I worked out the formula below to count if frequency. However, now I need to work it out for 2 criterias.
Count if I:I = A2 and if R:R = Closed
What I have so far is this:
{=COUNT(IF(FREQUENCY(IF(ticketInformation!I:I=A2,ticketInformation!B:B),ticketInformation!B:B),1))}
I need to determine the MAX date in a column based on specific criteria. Column A6:A500 = Task Names, Column N6:N500 = Dates (there are some blanks).
What I need is to determine the latest date in column N6:N500 based on which task I choose from column A6:A500.
Essentially, I'm creating a spreadsheet which contains a list of staff in rows, and the months of the year as columns. It is to record certain company checks which must be done (e.g. driving licence check). When a check is complete, the date it was done is entered under the corresponding month. Certain checks (e.g. driving license) only need to be done every 6 months. What I'm trying to do is find a formula/vba to look at each row, determine where (which month) the date was entered in, and grey out the 5 months in front, meaning the next check is required in 6 months time.
Ideally, the frequency of this check is dynamic, and can reference a cell (e.g. might change to every 3 months etc).
I have a workbook that contains worksheets whose sheetnames are specific to each day of the month ie: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th, and so on up to 31st. I am trying to write an workbook open procedure to check the day of the month and match it to the relevant worksheet so it will open to that day. for example if opened today being the 25th, i want the code to unhide sheet named 25th and select it, whilst all other sheets bar one is hidden.

I have the feeling there is a simple solution to this but I couldn't see anything other than the frequency function that I thought I might be able to use. I could populate an array with letters present in numbers according to their frequency and then randomly select from it but is there a more elegant solution? .......

How do I determine the specific business day based on the number of days it takes to complete a process? I have tried several functions but this is what I have: =(ROWS('TouchBack Detail'!$Q:$Q)*COLUMNS('TouchBack Detail'!$Q:$Q))+(COUNTIFS('TouchBack Detail'!$B:$B,'Nov TouchBack Summary'!B$1)). The result should be 3 but it’s including all other cells in the column that are not and should not be included in the refreshed table’s data (Table_TouchBack.accdb). I have attached the spreadsheet for review. The function is in cell B27 highlighted in yellow.

the column.
I require a flexible Formula:
Use an Input Cell for the specified and changeable Percentage(s) %.
Column may be filtered – so only take into account Visible Filtered Cells.
The Formula will calculate and Return the numerical range of values that fall
between the specified percentage % (using the Input Cell) e.g.; 70%.
The Formula should Return two numeric values: a Start Value and an End Value
– NOT necessarily the minimum and maximum per se BUT the MIN and MAX of the
values that appear 70% of the time in the column; therefore, taking into
account Repeat / Duplicate values.
The calculated Results: the two numeric values will be returned to separate
cells on a new Sheet.
I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. I need the forumla automatically fill in the number of days under each month.

I'm using Excel 2007.
So, this works perfectly by itself: {= SUM(IF(MONTH(I4:I17)=1,G4:G17,0))}
And this works perfectly by itself: {=SUM(IF(YEAR(I4:I17)=2007,G4:G17,0))}
But this doesn't work at all: {=SUM(IF(AND(MONTH(I4:I17)=1,YEAR(I4:I17)=2007),G4:G17,0))}
SUM by both a specific month, and a specific year from a single date field?
Let's say I have thousands of employees, but I need to determine who worked for me during a particular date range, and all I have to go on is their start date in one column and their end date in another column.

A1 contains beginning date of employment
B1 contains ending date of employment
C1 contains specified beginning date (criteria)
D1 contains specified ending date (criteria)
I'm trying to match certain transactions between two bank accounts, where the only like values are going to be date and disbursement/deposit amount. Obviously vlookup will not work here because there are many duplicate values. In the attachment I put in a Vlookup in the Account 2 tab to try and demonstrate what I'm trying to do exactly, which is match deposits in Account 2 with Disbursements in Account 1.
After looking around I found that maybe a combination of INDEX/MATCH would work here but how to get it to work or even if it is appropriate in this situation.
I am working on a spreadsheet to create a school 'tracking' system based on excel. What I need is that as soon as a box in column B is ticked, a date (TODAY() is entered in column A. That is not so difficult, and I have used the formula in cells in column A:
=IF(ISBLANK(Bx);"";TODAY()), where x is the specific row.
So, keep cell A clear untill something is written in cell B. This works fine.
But, for the purpose I need to keep the TODAY() date fixed after entry. And it need to be erased again if the tickbox in cell B is emptied again. It need then to re-enter a new date after cell B is re-used.
I have a column with dates populated(examp.Fri, 15 Feb 08)in it. In the next column I need to return the month and year (month, year format) this specific date falls in?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to calculate the end date of my German courses. This is how it works:
A course consists of 60 LU*. The course can occur i. e. three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In each day the course lasts 2 LU, which means 6 LU each week. There is no course on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and on holidays. Therefore this type of course that begins on 18-Nov-2013 will end on 03-Feb-2014.
Another course which occurs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and respectively has 2 LU on Tuesday, 2 LU on Thursday and 3 LU on Saturday and starts on 03-Dec-2013 will end on 06-Feb-2014.
Therefore I want to create a worksheet where I set the start date, choose the days and respectively the LU amount on those days. The end date shall be calculated according to these criteria.
The workday function on excel cannot do this and I do not have any programming skills to work with VBA.

I have a grid of random numbers. What I want to do is make a new,
corresponding table that has those numbers' frequencies from the initial
dataset.
So, if I have a row 1,2,3,4,5, the first row in my frequency table shows the
frequencies for those numbers, whatever they might be regarding the entire
set of numbers.
I'm just wondering if there's a more automated way of doing this than
running the historgram function and then manually matching the frequencies
with the original numbers to come up with my table. My dataset is growing,
so that's becoming too time-consuming.
I have ID in column A and amounts in column B. ID's are duplicated, and I need to add amounts based on ID, so for example total of ID 156 should be $13,851.14 or 156 should be 7,290.63.
In the following example ID are in order, I need a formula that adds up the amounts in column C.

My data is on order database as follows:
column B: customer name
column H: order value
column C: Total Order Value for the customer calculated as =SUMIF($B$2:$B$36383,B2,$H$2:$H$36383)
column D: number of orders for that customer, calculated as =COUNTIF($B$2:$B$23155,B2), and defined as a range called No_of_Orders
I'm trying to work out how many customers fall into the various categories. So on sheet 2, I've got an array formula:
{=FREQUENCY(No_of_Orders,$F$4:$F$12)}, where F4:F12 contain the 'bin' values.
The trouble is, that gives me the number of orders that fall into each category, not the number of customers.
How can I get it calculate the number of customers?
I have large spreadsheet that analyses the number of times specific characters etc appear in individual cells, but only takes into consideration the filtered cells. My current formula that works fine is:
= sumproduct((subtotal(3,offset($c$66,row($c$66:$c$6959)-min(Row($C$66:$c$6959)),,1))),--isnumber(search("F",$s$66:$s$6959)))
So at the moment every time an F or other specified values is in one of the filtered cells it is counted and displayed in the respective cells. What I would like it to be able to do is recognise when a cell has say 3 F's, and increment the displayed product accordingly.
I need a formula that can lookup the sell price with the highest frequency. For example, I need to look up item 2100 in sheet2 and sheet1 contain data for vlookup like this:
ID No_Frequency Sell Price
2100 4 2.99
2100 5 3.49
2100 1 1.99
I need to be able to look up and return the sell price of 3.49 since it has the highest frequency.
Sample Excel with Frequency.xls.Attached a sample sheet with some data. What I'm trying to do is combine the frequency function and add another variable. Not sure how to do this. I'm using Excel 2003, so I don't think I can use "countifs".

The totals in C come from a pivot table created from the data in a separate sheet. I need to dynamically show who made an error and the frequency of that kind of error. I've gotten the Error Type count to display according to the word in column B, but column C will show how many times that a specific notation was made.
For example:
"Annualization" appears in column B 3 times, but column C shows that one of the descriptions is listed twice in the separate sheet. The current formula shows 3, but it needs to count the 3 in B, then add any number that is more than 1 minus 1 in the relative C cell to yield 4.
This is my count array: =SUM(LEN(B6:B4506)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(B6:B4506,D6,"")))/LEN(D6)
I've also used: =COUNTIF(_1ST_LVL_ERROR,"*"&D6&"*")
I don't know how to get the second column to factor in, though.
I have a column of names and I want to find the frequency that each name occurs per row, but the cells have a string of text. For example:
Column A:
John Dimon, Matt Carpenter, James Chan, Gary Smith
Matt Carpenter, Leo Monroe, Craig Thomson
John Dimon, Matt Carpenter, Larry Barclay
I would like a way to count how many times each name occurs in the column. So John Dimon would be 2, Matt Carpenter would be 3. I tried countif but it doesn't seem to work with a string of text.
