View 2 RepliesI am trying to insert a timer into a column cell range that will countdown in hours, mins, and sec, when I enter the time. example: when I enter the "time in hr,mins,sec" it will start to countdown to Zero automatically, when I hit the enter key.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a macro that runs through about 40,000 records which can be quite time consuming. I currently have a status bar that shows the percent of work complete, but I'd like to add something that shows an estimate of how much time is remaining and how much time has passed. Below is the first loop in my code that uses the progress bar. You'll see that I modified the progress bar to include "Label 2" which shows the current record of the total record count, I'd like to add "Label 3" to show something like "2:30 elapsed, 1:15 remaining".
I'm using Excel 2010 on Windows 7 (64 bit).
HTML Code:
Sub IdentifyGS()
POData.Activate
For CurrentRow = 2 To LastRow

I'd like to create a countdown timer to the nearest second for a project deadline. At present I have a simple formula stating the number of days, but would like it a lot more detailed.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to modify, other than one piece) for a simple countdown timer to place on a userform. On my form if a user clicks a check box I display a label that shows a count down from 300 to 0 (best/simplest code I could find to modify for my purposes). But I'd rather it look like a timer counting down from "00:05:00" to "00:00:00".
Code:
Private Sub PPackCall14_Click()
'lbCountDown, lbMinutes
If PPackCall14 = True Then
Dim i As Integer

I need to list multiple items that end in, example:at time entered there is 45:14:50 = Hr:Mn:Sec to completion, and would like the date and time of completion or just a countdown to 0 would work. I will have 60 to 70 items running at the same time with different start times and lengths. Picture queueing up items at different times to complete in different length of time and I need to be ready when each item is done. I know this is an Excel forum but I also use Apple Numbers so if either one works better I'm fine with that.
In the attached file, column R is the start time that I enter that needs to be calculated to column S. When I enter an item that takes 54hrs 23min 45seconds to complete, what date and time will it be ready.
The idea is that when they enter the date they recieved their PDR it auto posts the date it needs re doing in column C. To emphasise it and make it easier i am trying to use the formula is part of conditional formatting so that the spreadsheet goes green when date entered, orange when there is 30 days till renewal and red when its over due. I've been trying formulas such as =c2-today()<30 in the conditional formatting box but i cant seem to get it to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedA countdown timer (MM:SS) all in A1. Need keyboard control to PAUSE and STOP. The mouse will be otherwise occupied and its use cannot effect the timer in any way. Easy way to set the timer.
*Most periods are 2:00 but overtime periods are either 1:00 or :30, depending. Also, consolation matches usually follow a 1,2,2 format, so I will need a system to be able to reset the timer to any of these easily.
I'm playing a game that requires me to keep track of money that is increased by a variable amount (pre-calculated and in a cell) and in a fixed time interval of 51 minutes weather I play it or not so I want to be able to keep track of the progress of the money gain outside of the game.
So, I need to know the macro coding for a real time counter that will increase the total money amount in one cell based on the variable income (declared in another cell) in the 51 minute intervals.
now... I also need excel to keep track of the value increase even if excel is closed (by the difference in time from when excel was closed last).
I have a excel sheet that I have created, on this sheet I have 50 rows. I wish to have each row have a 15 minute count down timer on it. I wish to be able to start each one at different times. I wish to also be able to stop and reset each one as needed. I would also like to have each one give a signal sound or a pop up come up and say some thing like "row 5 completed". I have found and am able to get the multiple count down timers on the sheet but they do not start and stop individually. You can start one but once you start the next one the first one will stop running.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn cell A1 we have the word "one", and in B1 we have the word "two". Would it be possible to have a timer function run for 5 seconds, counting from 5 to 0, and everytime the timer reaches 0, the word in A1 is copied and pasted into cell C1, the timer resets and counts again to zero, this time when it gets to zero, it copies and pastes the word in cell B1 to C1. So it's like a flip flop function, with cell C1 changing it's value every 5 seconds. Also, this code needs to start running automatically when the sheet is opened. Is this at all possible with VBA?..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a file that I update daily. It involves opening the file, going to a drop down menu and selecting 1 of the listed items and pressing a button to run the macro. Once the macro is complete, I then go back to the dropdown menu and select the next line item and press the same button to run the macro on this. I repeat this task 7times.
All the macro does is load a txt file to a third party system.
I am looking to see if it is possible to reduce the time it takes to do this task.
Take a look at this sample sheet.
LapCounter.xls
In it I've developed some lap timers for tracking runners. However to be truly useful, each time I press a LAP button on any one row it really needs to record time with millisecond accuracy, which it currently does not.
I have this formula counting down days until my next fire drill:
[Code].....
However... Every time the drill is done I need to change the date in the formula for the countdown. That I can have it reference a cell instead?
My initial idea was a formula like this:
[Code] .....
(however this code doesn't actually work ...).
The only change I made was to change the "Sheet1" to "Journal" to match the worksheet name in my workbook.
As you close and reopen the workbook, the timer should start with =NOW() in A1 (formatted as "HH:MM:SS") and count up with the current time until you close the workbook.
I use Excel 2010, could that be the problem, that I copied a VBA code for an older version of Excel???
Question: What exactly is a regular module, do I use Module 1 for the first portion of the code or place it in ThisWorkbook?

I have the following code below for a timer in a userform. Right now it is configured to start when a button is clicked. I would like to have it automatically start the timer after the workbook is open for more than 5 minutes but so far have been unable to get it to do so. I have tried putting the code in the workbook module but it still won't run. It also has a button to reset the timer if they need more time in the workbook and also a button for them to save and close the workbook if they are finished. I'm running Excel 2007.
VB:
Private Sub CBReset_Click()
Dim T, E, M As Double, S As Double
T = Timer
Do
E = CDbl(Time) * 24 * 60 * 60 - T 'elapsed time in secs
M = AllowedTime - 1 - Int(E / 60)
S = 59 - Round((E / 60 - Int(E / 60)) * 60, 0)

I have a range of cells each containing a name. Based on a number that has to be entered manually I want excel to return the names concatenated in one cell. So for example:
Number of variable entered: 5
q9001
q9002
q9003
q9004
q9005
q9006
etc.
Should give me: "q9001 q9002 q9003 q9004 q9005"
I have been trying to work with formulas using IF and CONCAT functions. But so far I haven't figured out how to have excel return me the correct amount of variables for each separate number that can be entered seeing the number of variables entered can vary from 1 up to 50.

I Want users to be able to copy a reference number from a an external program into excel, this works well for single cells but the cell I want them to be able to paste the information into is a merged cell and keep getting the "Data on the clipboard is not the same size and shape blah blah error". What I can do to get this information to paste? Is there some VBA that can kinda trick the cell to believe its single or when pasting it unmerges and then remerges again?

My Excel 2007 worksheet contains a cell where a percentage is manually input. A freight cost is calculated based on the input percentage. Typically, the percentage is 3-7% but once in a while freight is excluded and the percentage is zero.
My issue is that when a 0 is input the cell appears blank and I would like it to display 0.00%. The remainder of the worksheet needs to have the zero display turned off.
I'm using Excel 2010 and I'm having troubles displaying hiding my column B if none of the cells of column A contains either "(Quasi Echec)" or "(Quasi Russite)" at least once.

I am trying to write a simple macro that would start a timer (in hh:mm:ss format) when the cell is selected. In other words, if I have the following:
Row Col B Col C
1 00:00:00 (form btn)
2 00:00:00 (form btn)
3 00:00:00 (form btn)
I would like to select B1 to start a timer and C1 (button) to stop the timer for that row.
I was given code from another IT guy but the problem with this code is that I have to write multiple macros by just switching out the cell number (in this example = [C4] )
I would like to have the macro use the selected cell as input parameter in the line that reads Set count = [C4].
Dim CD As Date
Sub RunTime()
CD = Now + TimeValue("00:00:01")
Application.OnTime CD, "Counter"
End Sub

I have a worksheet in which i am asking a user to enter manually a number in cell E3. Suppose the user starts with 100, then the next time he is entering in E3 he shoudnt be able to enter 100 nor any number less than 100. I dont have a range for the numbers that the user is going to enter.Therefore countif function does not work. Is there any way that i an store the number taht the user enters first in cell E3 and then use that database to avoid the user from entering the same or a number lesser than that number.????

I need to get that list of numbers listed out to the right, with one number per cell. The list in column one could possibly contain from 1 to 20 numbers, and the last number is always without the comma after it.
I'm trying to make a macro in Excel 2003 to create x amount of named worksheets that are a copy of a different worksheet.
1. I have a main worksheet that will have a number manually entered into a cell (lets say A1);
2. I have a 'template' worksheet;
3. I'll assign the macro to a button on the main worksheet
If I enter '10' into cell A1 of the main worksheet, I'd like to click the button and have Excel create 10 copies of the template worksheet. These new worksheets should all share the same name with a number after them (ex: banana 1, banana 2..... banana 10).
I have an excel document with multiple excel sheets(sheet1, sheet2...etc), now every sheet contains a cell "total".
Now I want to copy the row containing "total" from all the sheets into another sheet called "report".
the macro should begin by loading a form with a textbox.
load UserForm1 'i suppose
then instead
range("b1").value = 60
set 60 (or a value that i like) in the TextBox1 then start the countdown in TextBox1 instead in cell B1
